"OK everyone listen. We will be leaving for Dragon camp for the annual get-together of all werewolf packs in our region. There, we'll have the opportunity to test our capacities against the members of the other packs. Have a clear analysis of what we need to improve on. The packs involved as you all know are, the Colorado Pack, that is us. The Blood Moon Pack, the Dragon Pack, who will be receiving us, and the Midnight Pack.

I want all of you to be on your best behavior. Any unnecessary problem caused by any of you will be severely sanctioned. I am clear? " Alpha John's voice booms throughout the field and we answer with a solemn "Yes alpha. "

After everything is said and done, we leave with three buses to transport all of us.

I am seated alone at the back, firstly because no one wants to associate themselves with me, they find me strange. And secondly, over the years, I had become cold and aloof.

My only priority lay in my loyalty to the former alpha and Luna whom I regard as my parents.

If they were to be no more, I would probably move away from this place.

I catch a few people talking about me and stealing glances at me, but I don't give a damn. I am known as the rejected mate of the alpha. John had taken the position of alpha about a year or so ago, with Viviane as his luna. To me, they were just a couple of clones.

John was not mature enough to put the Pack first, and Viviane was selfish enough to enslave whoever to get whatever she wanted.

Even with her current position as Luna, she knew not to cross me because Alpha Jacob had made it clear to them both that I was off-limit.

I love Alpha Jacob and Luna Katie to death. I would lay my life for them in a heartbeat. And they were the only reason I would protect the current alpha, and yes his Luna too with everything I have.

Viviane has shown me time and time again never the less that her jealousy for me runs deep. Although she is mated to John, his parents never accepted or even acknowledged her but that has nothing to do with me.

I appreciate alpha Jacob and Luna Katie for keeping them away from me, but sincerely they don't even measure up to me, even with their alpha blood. How do I know? Simple. Their alpha aura has zero effect on me.

Even alpha Jacob does not affect me, and I merely surrender because I want to, not because I'm forced to like it's the case for all the other wolves of the community.

After four hours we finally arrive at the Dragon Pack camp.

When I get out of the bus, I see John greeting the alpha of the Dragon pack with a smile on his face. I am not blind John is very handsome but his personality is as ugly as it gets.

I follow the others unbothered. I feel eyes on me, but I don't look to see who it comes from. I'm used to this feeling and I'm not curious.

I see the members of my Pack regrouping on the side and I stand behind. Nothing new here.

Beta Steven is standing on a rock so he can have a clear view of all of us as he passes instructions.

"ok. We are here. I need all of you to find a partner with whom you'll be pairing. You'll have to stick together all through the program. You never leave the other person's side no matter what, " As he speaks people start moving, pairing themselves and I stand there alone.

Some people will feel sorry for me, but I am elected that we are in an odd number. I breathe a sigh of relief but that is until I hear Alpha John say beside me

"You don't have a partner? "

I am startled by his presence beside me. I was so focused on being happy that I forgot where I was for a second.

"Yes, alpha," I say nonchalantly. Since the day he slapped me because of his mate, I have made a point to never look him directly in the eyes or so.

"That is your punishment for always treating others like dirt, " he says with a smirk and walks off with his mate by his side with her giving me a smug look.

She frowns when I start laughing. I laugh so loud that everybody turns to look at me like I have lost my mind.

"Something funny you want to share with us Miss Leila? " beta Steven asks and I shake my head 'no' and clamp my mouth shut even though I am dying of laughter inside.

Treating others like dirt? That is a serious case of projection of character right there ladies and gentlemen.

The guy is more of a comic than an Alpha if you asked me. Lol.
