"Give up Alpha Dante! Today is the day all this ends! My pack and loved ones would be free of you forever." I said as I pointed a long sword at the throat of an injured Alpha Dante, funny enough, I wasn't even scared of the silver.

He looked at me with those cold, unremorseful eyes of his and laughed in his usual manner.

"A weak alpha like you is no match for me, drop your weapon and fight me, wolf to wolf like a real man." He said and I threw the sword away, I wasn't really comfortable with it anyway,

I whimpered as I rolled to the side to dodge his fangs. He flashed his fangs at me and growled as I got to my feet and we charged for one another.

This was the last fight. The fight that the survival of my pack depended on.

He bit my hind feet and I yelped and tried to shake him off but he sang his teeth into it deeper unmoved, I reached with my claws to tear at his side but he jumped away.

I limped to my feet and staggered but before I even found balance, he jumped on my neck trying to clench his jaws around my neck, I twisted my body and slashed his stomach quickly with my claws and he ran away immediately.

We both saw how deep the wound was and I smiled to myself,

Today, I would rid the world of this menace that was him, I thought to myself and leaped for him to finish him, but when I landed he wasn't there, I was also back to my human form, fully dressed.

I looked around in confusion wondering what the hell happened.

"Eric!!!!!" I heard someone shriek and the sound of that unfamiliar voice filled me with more fear than I ever thought possible in my life

"Mate." I heard my wolf whisper restlessly as I turned in the direction the voice had come and sprinted in that direction running like a madman.

"Eric!!!" I heard the call again and it filled me with dread and with it followed the maniac laughter of Alpha Dante.

Soon it got silent and I stopped and looked around,

"Where are you!" I shouted, but nothing but my voice echoed back at me.

"Where on earth are you!!" I shouted again as I pulled at my hair in frustration.

"Right here. Right behind you." I heard Alpha Dante's voice and I turned around and I saw him giving me a sinister smile, kneeling in front of him was a faceless woman, to whose neck he held a dagger, she sobbed uncontrollably and with each tear that fell, I felt my heart being torn apart and my wolf on the verge of madness.

"Eric." She called as she sobbed, "Please don't let him kill me Eric," She whispered

I was standing right in front of them but I couldn't see her face, it was like her face was covered with a haze or a fog, but I knew she was my mate, she had to be, I could fill it in my bones.

If she wasn't, my wolf wouldn't be this restless seeing her at Alpha Dante's mercy.

"Let her go!" I said to him but even my voice shook with fear.

My greatest weakness was there in his hand, the one person I didn't want him to touch, was at his mercy, the very reason I wanted to abolish his reign as fast as I could before she showed up was already in his hand.

I had failed, haven't I? I wondered in dejection.

"Come and get her," He said with a sinister smile and I looked at him with so much hatred.

More hatred than I ever felt for him when he insubordinate my pack

"What do you want?" I asked as I walked toward him slowly.

"Your pain," He said and with that, he slit her throat open.

"No!!!" I shouted as I watched with horror as she fell to the ground lifeless.

My feet weakened and I fell to my knees and howled as I felt the heart-rending pain of losing one's mate tear me apart.
