The Magic Door
The Search of the Door

The sun rose while Raine and Peter were up before the sun and was back in the field grass. They look and look till they are in the middle of the field where the door was at and Peter was getting too worried. Raine can’t help but feel sorry for Peter. She looks around once more till she spots something not too far from where they are at. Using her hawk’s eyes, she saw dwarves walking in the grass. She looked at Peter as he was looking at where the door used to be.

“Peter, we must go.” Raine said while Peter looked at her.

“Why?” Peter asked as Raine looked over to where the dwarves were as they were getting closer.

“Some dwarves are coming this way.” Said Raine while looking at Peter. “And they might take you into the queen.”When Raine said that, Peter’s face went pale and looked around somewhere to hide, but Raine had other plans. She touched Peter’s shoulder and used some of her magic to shrink him down to the size of a dwarf as Peter looked up at her with confusion.

“Why do you shrink me?” Peter said as Raine looked down at him.

“So they won’t know you are a human.” Raine told him and just then the dwarves came over with smiles on their faces.

“Well, well, it’s Raine! How are you doing?” one dwarf asked as he had round and fuzzy red hair and beard. His eyes were small and squinty brown eyes as he looked at Peter. “Who you may be?” He asked Peter. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“His name is Peter, he is a friend of mine.” Raine said as the dwarf looked at Peter up and down while Peter looked to the side a bit. “Also, I am doing alright, Master Cumba.”

“Hmm, that’s good you are doing alright but you Peter… what are you?” Master Cumba asked as Raine was about to answer, but Peter beat her to it.

“I’m just a hobbit from…” Peter looked around till he saw a hill with trees. “From that wood over there.” He pointed over to the hill as Cumba looked over then back at Peter with his eyebrows frowning.

“A hobbit? What’s a hobbit?” Master Cumba asked as Raine looked down at Peter as Peter smiled.

“I live underground. Raine here spotted me when I was getting some food from above ground and we just became friends.” Peter said as Cumba narrowed his eyes at Peter before smiling widely.

“Well, no wonder why we never saw a hobbit before! Have you traveled before or do you just stay underground?” Master Cumba asked as Peter shook his head no.

“No, just stay underground.” Peter told him as another dwarf stepped in as he had the same look at Cumba but with dirty blond hair.

“Are there more of you?” He asked as Peter frowned and faked being sad.

“No, I’m the last one. The other hobbit just slowly disappeared, so there is just me.” Peter says with sadness in his voice.

“My beard! I’m sorry about that little hobbit.” He said as Raine smiled at Peter as he made up a good story.

“It’s alright.” Peter said as Raine looked at the two dwarves.

“Well, Master Cumba and Torbo, Peter and I need to get going.” Raine told them as they nodded.

“Yes, yes, sorry for keeping you waiting, well bye for now little hobbit and Raine.” both of the dwarves said at once before heading off their merry way.Once the dwarves were out of sight, both Peter and Raine took a deep sigh before laughing. “I did not know you were a storyteller, Peter.” Raine said in between laughing as Peter smiles.

“Not really, I just love the books of J. R. R. Tolkien wrote Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit and many more.” Peter said as Raine stopped laughing and looked at Peter with confusion.

“J. R. R. Tolkien? Who is that? A storyteller and what do you mean wrote those two kinds you speak of?” Raine asked while Peter forgot he was not in his world, so she didn’t know what he was talking about.

“Just an author, that’s all, and yes, you can say he is a storyteller.” Peter told her.

“Hmm, maybe someday I will meet this story teller so I can listen to more of those stores you are talking about.” Raine said as Peter shook his head.

“Sorry, but he passed away a long time ago.” Peter said, while looking around a bit.

“Oh, I see, well I guess you have to stay in that form for a little while until we find your door. Just to be cautious if another dwarf comes by or elves.” Raine said as she walked, and Peter walked with her.

“Elves? So let me guess what is in your world. I know you have dwarves and now I know there are elves, are there anymore, plus you are a fairy.” Peter said as Raine looked sad.

“No, just elves and dwarves, plus a goblin.” Raine told Peter as he looked at her with wide eyes.

“A goblin?” Peter asked as Raine nodded.

“Yes, a goblin. He is mean, but also sometimes can be a sneaky one.” Said Raine while Peter nodded. They walked for a bit till Peter looked around a bit as he did not see the door yet. Peter takes the lead and Raine follows as he goes over a hill and sees the most beautiful sight he has ever seen. The lands are full of trees, animals running around, deer grazing on the grass while the little fawns play near the herd, and the mountains are breathtaking. The snow on the tip of the mountains shone from the sun as it looked like diamonds. The air smells fresh from the forest that they are near and the nice breeze of the wind touches his face. Peter closed his eyes as he took in the pin’s small before opening his eyes and looked around a bit more till he spotted a castle to the right that was white and had a hue of white glow around it.

“What’s that place?” Peter asked Raine as she looked over and smiled.

“That is the missing kingdom. No one lives there yet till the one and only king returns.” Raine told Peter.

“And who is the one and only king?” Peter asked as Raine shrugged her shoulders.

“Don’t know but all I know is that he is the one that saved us from the war but vanished before we could get a look at our savior.” Said Raine while she remembers how a tall man came to the war and with a snap of his fingers the enemy was gone and so was he. “Anyway do you want to meet some of my friends?” Raine asked Peter as he nodded.

“Sure, there is nothing else to do until the door appears again.” Said Peter while Raine smiled and walked down the hill with Peter behind her a bit.Peter stopped and turned around and to give a last look for any sign of the door, but there was none. Turning back around and catching up with Raine as she kept on walking. While they are walking, Peter is having a hard time keeping up with her as he is still in the short form. He stopped when he saw a horse that he always read about and saw on the TV. It was a unicorn as the color of the unicorn was black and white spots and its horn was blue. To Peter it was the most fascinating horse he had ever seen in person, but soon he remembered how some unicorns can be. Some can look nice but soon turn evil and there are those that are just normal unicorns. The unicorn spots Peter and walks over slowly as Peter stood where he was while wondering what he should do. When the unicorn was now in front of Peter and its head moved to his face while looking at Peter with violet eyes. Something in Peter telling him not to worry, so he could reach his hand and gently stroke the unicorn cheek as the unicorn leans into his touch with eyes closed. Peter smiles and keeps on stroking the unicorn cheek before the unicorn pulls away and trots away while Peter watches the unicorn go away.

“Peter! Where are you?” Peter turned around and saw Raine looking for him as he took one more glance at the unicorn before running over to Raine. “Ah, there you are, Peter.” Raine said while she saw him running to her.

“Sorry I was looking at that unicorn.” Peter told her as Raine’s eyes widened and looked up at the unicorn as it disappeared into the forest.

“Did it hurt you?” Raine asked while looking at Peter as he shook his head no.

“No, but it lets me pet it.” Peter told Raine. She looks shocked and looks at Peter as if he had some kind of magic in him.

“I say, you are lucky then. That unicorn let no one touch or even look at it.” Raine told Peter as he tilted his head to the right.

“Why?” Peter asked while Raine shrugged her shoulders.

“Don’t know why, but come along! We are almost at my friend’s place.” Raine said as she walked, and this time Peter walked beside her so she won’t lose him or won’t get lost.
