Goodbye, Eilish
“HOW MUCH FARTHER IS IT?! MY FEET ARE KILLING ME!” Malcolm yelled.
“Calm down, Malcolm. We haven’t even been walking for long,” Pàl said.
On their way home, Fyer had decided to depart from the group. Malcolm was very happy to see her leave. Jamie, however, was upset that he couldn’t help her find her siblings. Fyer said her goodbyes and flew away.
“What happens when we return home?” Eilish asked.
“Well...to be honest...our adventure will be over and you will have to go home too. Your parents are probably very worried about you,” Pàl said.
“But will I ever be allowed to come back?” Eilish asked.
“You are always welcome here in Mycono, Eilish!” Jamie said, “In fact, I’ll always be here waiting for your return...”
“Thank you so much...” Eilish said, she started to cry.
“Now now, we still have a long way to go before we reach home,” Pàl said.
The whole group, Mári, Mungo, Eilish, Jamie, Pàl, Malcolm, and Fraizer walked a long way and they chatted and answered Mungo’s questions too.
“So how do you all know me again?” Mungo asked.
Pàl was unwilling to speak, afraid that he might tell if all the times Mungo went insane and had to be locked up in the hospital. Jamie, of course, knew exactly what to say only mentioning the good memories.
“We have a few picture albums as well, and you are in some pictures!” Jamie said.
“That’s kind of creepy, actually...” Mungo said.
At twilight, they reached home. Eilish cried and Jamie attempted to comfort her.
“You must go home now... I hope to see you again one day...” Jamie said.
“Jamie... play me one last song on your trumpet for me, please,” Eilish requested.
“Alright, we’ll make this a peaceful goodbye...” Jamie said.
He took out his trumpet and played the same lullaby from before.
“...thank you...everyone...I apologize Scotty...” Eilish said as she reluctantly climbed through the portal.
She’s going back to her real life, such a cruel and harsh place. But at least she would remember, Mycono is at peace thanks to her and she is welcome to come back any time...this ends the tale of The Magic Drink...
