Leonard had thought of this reason too. His parents feared he would develop extravagant habits when he studied abroad, so they provided him with a limited monthly allowance. He had to get a part-time job or start his own business if he needed

more.

They thought it best that young people did not rely too much on their families.

“I recall owning several apartments near the university,” Leonard said, “Terminate the contracts with the current tenants and provide them with monetary compensation. Find a way to rent one of those units to Lisa at a lower price.”

A peculiar expression flashed across Jackson’s face. Previously, Leonard demanded Lisa leave and discussed a divorce. Now, he secretly offered her a place to stay.

Jackson could not quite understand Leonard’s intentions.

Lisa was frustrated. She thought it would be easy to rent an apartment, but after two days of searching, she still had not found a place she liked. Some were dirty and had worn-out furniture, while others were steeply priced or not in a convenient location.

She considered renting a rundown apartment and replacing the furniture later since it would be comfortable to live in once there were new furnishings.

Upon seeing the place, Lisa was not hopeful but instantly fell in love with the unit. It was a loft apartment with exquisite and cozy decorations. It also had a TV, refrigerator, and air conditioning.

The lower level had a living room and dining area, while the upper level had a small study on one side and a bedroom on the

other.

“How much is this apartment per month?”

The agent smiled and said, “Two hundred.”

“Only two hundred?” Lisa was dumbfounded, “That’s impossible.”

“It’s true, but you must pay six months’ rent upfront because the owner urgently needs the money.”

“All right, no problem. I’ll take it.”
