“I should make money too. Even someone like Leonard, who has enough money to last several lifetimes, says making money is great. I don’t have an excuse to slack off.” Lisa sighed. Then she pushed aside the unhappiness of tonight’s events and focused on skewering the food with Celine.

Leonard tightened his grip on his glass. No one else besides Lisa would dare behave so recklessly toward him. Leonard went to great lengths tonight to show her some respect, but she tra mpled all over him.
“So, it was her.” Lucas knew he had guessed correctly, judging from Leonard’s expression. “What did she do to trigger you
this time?”
“Let’s not mention her anymore. I thought she was a smart woman, but she’s just as shallow as the rest.” Leonard could not bring himself to tell his good friend that he had intended to sleep with Lisa tonight, but she rejected him.
She not only refused his body but also insisted on getting a divorce.
‘Da mn it, I tried not to care about the Stark and Jones families’ low status and was willing to continue this marriage. How ungrateful of her!’
Lucas lightly chuckled, poured himself some whiskey, and smiled. “I don’t think Lisa’s like any other woman since she had the guts to smash a cake in Madison’s face. Lisa’s quite audacious. Honestly, I’d raise a glass and toast to her if she were here now.”
Leonard sarcastically remarked, “It was just a display of courage. Her life would’ve ended if she hadn’t been lucky enough to meet me. My entire family wouldn’t have let her off.”
“That’s one way to put it. Still, no one can bear that situation.” Lucas disagreed. “You’re looking down on Lisa.”
“Aren’t you afraid of Madison getting angry when you say those things?” Leonard gave a meaningful reminder. “Madison has liked you for many years.”
Lucas clicked his tongue and sipped his whiskey. “Forget it. I can’t stand her temper. I would rather never get married in this lifetime than marry her.”
Leonard palmed his lips conflictingly. “Some things aren’t absolute. Look at me. I got married without a fuss.”
