Chapter 54 – The California House Part 1

Reign was right. Yesterday in the mid afternoon there was a note left at the gate of the house. It was addressed to me as we figured it would be. Whoever left it used magic to deliver it. The security cameras didn’t catch anyone leaving it. We watched it a few times. The note wasn’t there then it was. Either way I don’t care. All the notes said was to come to the house today. They want me there after it gets dark which we weren’t surprised about. I let out breath as I walked up that driveway. I planned never to come back here again not after that night. I was 12 the last time I walked up this driveway. The night I ran from here I ran through the woods and then teleported myself to the house that Uncle Randy inherited when he thought that Aunt Lorena died. Uncle Aaron, Reign, Shay and Raef were watching about a quarter mile away. Batina was with me since they wanted her. The shadows were flittering about everywhere. They started whispering when Zenos, Dobrita and Lorena arrived. I was staring at the burnt ground when I heard movement behind me. I turned around to find Zenos, Dobrita, Lorena and Volotor standing behind me. I heard Batina gasp. She was standing beside me.

“I didn’t think you would show up.” Zenos drawled.

“Well, when you left me such a sweet note asking for my presence how could I not show up.” I hissed.

“You are such a disrespectful little bitch just like you mother. Now unlock that damn door so I can get into that room.” Lorena screeched.

“Me disrespectful, seriously. You fucking tricked Uncle Randy into mating your whorish ass then watched as they killed him. I give respect where it is earned.” I growled.

Lorena lunged at me only to be thrown back by the shadows. My eyes opened wide when this happened. I knew the shadows were watching but I didn’t tell them to do that. I didn’t dare touch my stomach. I didn’t want to give it away that I was pregnant, and I knew we weren’t sure if they knew. Lorena stood up and I knew she was pissed. Zenos and Dobrita had identical looks on their faces telling me they weren’t expecting that either. I felt the necklace around neck growing warmer. I felt something within me trying to break free, but it also felt like something else was holding it back.

{Stand over the barrier.}

{Stand in the middle of the barrier touch the necklace recite the chant.}

They had never told me anything like this before. I stepped back onto the barrier on the ground. I heard Lorena scream as she sank onto her knees. I wrapped my hand around the pendant as I whispered the chant that I remember a man telling me as he told me to sleep all those years ago. I knew it was dad that told me to always remember this chant. I heard growling as something inside me broke causing me to scream.

I felt someone touch me and the sparks rushing through me let me know that Reign was here. I opened my eyes to see his glowing. He was ripped away from me and thrown to the ground. I let out a roar as I watched Dobrita holding him by the throat with her magic. She dropped him to the ground as she looked at me.

“Look the barrier is broken open. Now we can get in.” Lorena says.

I moved over letting them inside. I knew they needed to see that what they were looking for was not there. Somehow, I knew that room was empty. I walked over to Reign making sure he was fine. Uncle Aaron, Shay and Raef were there as well. Batina was standing beside Shay when we heard a loud scream and things being thrown. The three of them were soon standing in front of the open hole in teh ground.

“Fuck I should have known. He had placed your magic in the necklace. Randy might have given that to her, but her fucking father had him in still your fucking magic within it. She was never the key.” Zenos hissed.

“I am going to kill you. You should have never been born. Jasper was meant to be mine until your whore of a mother came along and stole him from me.” Lorena hissed.

“My father was my mother’s fated mate. That bond is indestructible.” I hissed back.

Lorena started to walk towards me, but Zenos grabbed her arm. He told her that he would take care of me. He told her that she would have her magic back and that the three of them would rule the pack and kingdom together once he got me under control.

“Yeah, good luck with that.” Raef mumbled.

I shot him a glare and Uncle Aaron laughed. I linked Batina to keep them safe as I dealt with these fuckers. I told the shadows to keep them here no matter what. I stood there as Zenos smirked at me. The air cooled as I felt the magic in him flare. What was left of his royal aura flared. Seriously is that all he has. Suddenly things were flying at me from all directions. I felt something grab my wrist as Reign let out a growl. I looked down as a vine fell from my wrist. I heard a growl across from me. Zenos was getting pissed that his magic wasn’t working on me. Dobrita stepped beside him and unleashed her magic. Everything the throughout mine countered pissing them off.

“Why is nothing fucking working?” Lorena screeched.

“I don’t know.” Dobrita replied.

Eros and his little group of shit stains appeared. Behind them were a group of wolves. I recognised a few form Claude’s little group. So, this is who they thought could take me. Someone is clearly delusional. I tore that damn necklace from my neck and chucked it at Lorena.

“Here you can have this. I don’t fucking need it. However, only the person who stripped you of your magic can return it to you. Too bad that he is fucking dead because of you three motherfuckers.” I told them.

“Kodi is right Randy sat on the council when you were stripped of your magic. He is the one that sealed it in that pendant. Think back real hard if you don’t believe us Loraynzia.” Uncle Aaron yelled.

I smirked the minute that I knew what he had just told her sunk it. She knew it was true. Her magic was so close but yet so far and no one could give it back to her.

I remember feeling like my heart was breaking when I realised that Uncle Randy died. There was also this weird feeling of power that I felt at the same time. It felt like something surged within me. That must be what the shadows are talking about. Might as well let her have her shit back. Then maybe this will be a fair fight, but I doubt it. I loudly chanted the spell breaking the seal on the necklace. Lorena let out a scream as her magic surged back into her weakened body. Not having her magic for so long made her body weak. It may not be able to handle it now.

“That bastard willed her his powers when he died. I should have known he would form a blood bond with her since he took her in to protect her. You made a terrible mistake doing that you little bitch.” Lorena cackled.

I rolled my eyes at her. She stood back up after the magic surging back into her body knocked her on her scrawny ass. She really did look like a fucking walking corpse. I saw a movement out of the corner of my eye, and I quickly put a stop to their little group.

“They are not to be part of this.” I growled.

I teleported Eros and his group of little shits away. I will deal with them later. They won’t be much of a fight. Dobrita let out a scream when they disappeared and then looked at Lorena. Oh, if they don’t think I know what they are up to then they really are stupid. All three of them sent a wave of magic towards me. I stood there staring at them as it came towards me. I raised my hand stopping it midair. I linked Reign telling to make sure everyone was sitting down. As soon as the last one sat down, I closed my eyes. I knew they were glowing when I opened them up. Dobrita let out a gasp. I felt myself lift off the ground as I looked down on them.

“You want to play, okay, let’s play.” I roared.

They back up a few steps as I let my aura go. I wasn’t holding back this time. I made sure the shadows covered the others so I wouldn’t hurt them, but Reign was standing there watching everything. My aura wasn’t affecting him at all. We had both noticed that as time went on my aura no matter how strong it got stopped affecting him. I saw his mark starting to glow. Zenos hissed and started pushing his aura out trying to counter mine, but it was no use. Mine was four times as strong as his. Zenos started chanting some fae shit but I knew it was nothing compared to what I could do. I started chanting my own fae shit.

“THAT LANGUAGE IS DEAD.” He yelled.

I kept chanting, making nature itself come alive. Water droplets began to materialise out of nowhere while the fucking trees themselves pulled themselves from the ground. They began to walk around.

“HOW THE FUCK IS THIS POSSIBLE?” Lorena screamed.

“RANDY MUST HAVE HAD MY GREAT GREAT GREAT GRANDMOTHERS BOOKS. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW HE KNEW THE DARK FAE SIDE OF MY FAMILY BUT THAT IS THE ONLY WAY.” Zenos yelled back.

I lowered myself back down to the ground and stopped chanting. Things kept moving and that is when the fucking light went off above Dobrita. I smirked at them. I was the only one that knew the truth which they will never know. Well maybe after all this is over and they are rotting away in the cells.

I watched a sadistic smile spread across Zenos’s face. He agreed and told the women to stay back and not interfere. I looked at Reign as the other stood back up. Poor Shay looked like he wanted to vomit. I will do something to make this up to him when all this is done. I pulled Reign’s hoodie over my head dropping it to the ground. Zenos lunged at me while I was doing this. I easily stepped to the side letting him fly by me kicking him in the back as he went by. This propelled him into a tree. I let me claw extend as he turned around. He stood up with a growl.

“Did you even train when you were growing up? I mean I know I wasn’t raised in the kingdom but hell even Uncle Randy trained me or had someone he trusted train me. Hell, I even worked out in a human gym with the MMA fighters and shit like that.” I taunted him.

He let out a growl as he turned to face me. He lunged at me again grabbing my arm sinking his nails into it. I let out a hiss as Reign, well I should say Blade, let a growl. I am guessing he could smell my blood. I swung my arm around taking Zenos with me. I flung him off me as he whipped around swinging at me. I swung at him raking my claws across his side. He let out a roar of pain. I brought my elbow connecting with his nose. With a sickening crunch his nose shattered. His eyes started to glow, and I knew that he was going to pull something. I could feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up. So, this is how he wants to play. Okay then we will play.
