Chapter 15 – ‘He doesn’t know’

I wrapped the blanket around me and then opened the door, now hearing nothing. I checked both ways and then shook my head as I walked back in. Grayson looked at me, a brow raised.

“I’m not crazy, I know I heard something.”

“Do you think anyone would try anything this close to a pack?” This time, I lifted my brow.

“You forget that a family has no caring for packs or covens, so they wouldn’t care where one was or how close they might be.” I let out a breath and then looked at him as he stepped over to me. “What?” I asked him. He took my hand and led me back to the bathroom and he pulled the blanket off of me.

“I can’t pick up on any scent and though you can mask scents, a witches scent can’t be, no matter what; at least not for Alpha’s. Witches have a,” he paused and I tilted my head at that, “an earthly smell, I guess. So I can tell you that it wasn’t a witch.”

“Guess I can’t fight that logic.”

“You can’t. Now,” he said, lifting me up and I locked my legs around his waist as he walked us into the shower, “I know you don’t need a lot of blood, but you barely have enough given what’s been taking out of you.”

“Yeah, well, they are your kids and therefore eat a lot more.”

“My kids,” he growled out, his eyes darkening. “Excuse me; they are not just my kids.” With that, he pushed me against the wall and his lips connected with my neck, causing me to shiver.

“Maybe you should show me how they aren’t just yours.”

“You are sure bringing out my wolf tonight. Why is that?” I twisted my lip and then looked at him.

“You are hot like this.” He growled again and then pushed into me without warning. I cried out and dug my nails into his shoulder and he growled again but the sound was deeper and I almost smiled.

Grayson always made sure his wolf side never came out while we were making love, not because he wanted to, but he just felt that side may be too rough or demanding, even for me. And in all my years, that was a thing I never pushed on any wolf, but I wanted to feel that with Grayson, I wanted him to give me everything. And once I dug my nails in again and then bit into his shoulder, I could feel the shift within, the power that came out of him when it happened.

He pushed me harder into the wall and I could hear the cracking of the tiles but I still didn’t want him to stop. I moved my lips from his shoulder to his neck, but his hand wrapped in my hair and tugged. My eyes watered from the sting, but I still loved everything he was giving me. His eyes stared into mine and they were the darkest I had ever seen them.

“Is that all you got Grayson?”

“Don’t play with fire, sweetheart,” he growled deeply and I shivered. I know I couldn’t push for more so I let his powerful, driving thrusts push me close to the edge.

“Yes, Grayson, please.” I wasn’t sure what I was begging for but he knew. He changed angles and pushed even harder into me and my eyes flew to his. His hand cupped my cheek and brought my face to his neck. And with another powerful thrust, I bit into his vein harder than I ever had and he slammed into me even more forcefully and I came, clenching him tightly. And between all the intense, mind blowing pleasure, I felt him shake against me and come just as hard.

He dropped his head to my chest and I ran my fingers through his hair, a smile on my face. The blood coursing through me was so rich and so strong, I felt like I could take on the world. He took a deep breath and then pulled out, still holding me and I whimpered at the loss.

“And I enjoyed every moment of that.” He sat my legs down and I cupped his cheek. “When you get heated and Midnight is just below the surface, you are that much sweeter to me.” I stood on my toes and gave him a soft kiss.

“Sure, you still can’t do that to me though.” He finally pulled back and turned me around, his hands grabbing the soap and started cleaning my back. “Fuck, Fire, you have scratches from the tile.” I looked at him over my shoulder with a smirk.

“And I don’t mind one bit so you shouldn’t either, so please don’t.” He let out a sigh and I turned back, letting him finish. And after the sweet washing and slight massage I couldn’t help but grin even more that he was mine and that no one else knew just how great of a guy he was. And now that he was mine and meant for me I was….I snapped my head up fast, making Grayson take a step back to avoid the head butt.

“Woah, Fire, what’s wrong?” I turned around and looked at Grayson, my eyes taking in his face and he blinked a few times. “What are you thinking?”

“He doesn’t know.” Grayson shook his head and then cupped my cheeks.

“Babe, what are you talking about? Who doesn’t know? Know what?”

“Demonio.” I watched Grayson shake his head but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. I washed us off and then turned the water off and grabbed us some towels.

“Okay, you are confusing the shit out of me, Fire. Also, I really don’t want to discuss that God after our mind blowing sex.”

I laughed at that and nodded. “I know,” I said as I wrapped the towel around me and then walked out of the bathroom and over to the bed. “You and I have been under the assumptions that Demonio knows about you right? That you are part of this? That you are my beloved?”

“No, I wouldn’t think he would know about that, but for sure that there was more to the prophecy then just you.”

“No, if knew you were vital, he would be watching you as well. But as of now, I’m the only important one to him, which also means he doesn’t know of the babies.”

“Yet, you mean.” I eyed him as he walked out, the towel low on his hips and those muscles and tattoos on clear display for me. Mentally, I shook my head. Damn, it almost felt like I was in heat by how badly I wanted him again. Okay, sure, vampires had a higher sex drive and yes, feeding while having sex was some of the best blood, as he clearly knew, but even this was unreal.

“Uh, yeah, yet. But I don’t think ever. See, he knew I was vital because he knew Sol created me. But he would know nothing about you and this gives us a huge advantage. Especially since he doesn’t have the book anymore.” Grayson thought that over as he pulled on his clothes and I tried so hard not to pout which caused him to chuckle.

“You are right. If he knew that I was a part of this, I would have been watched. But then I would have to ask why wouldn’t he know? Like how far did he get into translating it?”

“Though they had the book for longer, I don’t think they got as much as they would have liked. I would gather that the only one working on translating it would be that vampire and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have the skills to have cracked the most valuable parts.” I slipped on my pj’s and Grayson drew me into his arms.

“Truth be told, we haven’t cracked anything majorly valuable right now either; although we are doing a lot better than I thought we would be.” He paused and I stared at him as he collected his thoughts.

“What is it Grayson?”

“You said something the other day and with them finally finding that whole trio deal, I really can’t help but wonder.” I ran my hand over his face, wanting to sooth way the worry lines that were there. “If you are valuable to Demonio because he wants to use whatever part of you to help his demons, then likewise the kids and I would be important in different regards, right?” I frowned because he was right and that was something I hadn’t thought of. But before I could speak, I turned my head to the door at the same time that Grayson started to growl. Both of us picked up on the presence. “Stay here Fire, let me get the door.”

“Grayson,” I muttered. Sure, having a big, sexy wolf was great to protect you, but in all truth, I could more damage to someone then he could. I walked up behind him and placed my hand on his arm and both of us stared in shock, a smile on the person’s lips.
