The Ninth Prophecy

Darkness can appear as light, still conceived with one aim – to blind into unseeing those who submit to it. To resist it is a struggle and temptation. Some 500 years after the era of human reign over the Earth has ended in mass obliteration of the opposing sides, the few remaining colonies, drawn back into the dark ages, fight for their bare survival. The greatest threat are the darkers – a hybrid race of humanoids living under the Doomed Dome, raiding and decimating human settlements. After his father's reign over the realm of humans was brought to an abrupt end, Faris finally got a chance to fulfill his dream of living a peaceful, ordinary life far from any threat. However, as new prophecies – rules all humans are to comply with – are announced, he gets drawn into a violent whirlpool of events. When Faris's older brother's party heading for the capitol is ambushed, by human forces aided by the darkers, the battle for the throne commences. As true motives of all involved are revealed, the line between justice and revenge, choice and sacrifice and light and darkness gets blurred. A sinister force seems to be driving more than just one side, more than just the inhabitants of the Doomed Dome. The burden put on Faris is one he always wanted to avoid carrying, as the choices he makes will not only define his future, but his past too.
