Chapter 33

Emery could tell Colin was in a struggle. Finally, she put her phone away and said calmly, “Someone has replaced the paper, then the result should be invalid. The president’s granddaughter has broken the university rules and doesn’t care about the university’s reputation. Think about it, Mr. McFadden. If you let this matter go by to protect your granddaughter, you’re using Alexandra’s future as a sacrifice. That means I’ll be forced to upload this recording online.”

Erik looked at Emery with eyes full of shock. He didn’t expect a weak girl to use her background as the Walters family and openly threaten Mr. McFadden for someone like Alexandra.

Colin seemed to have admitted defeat. “Ms. Walters, thank you for providing such evidence to me. You’ve allowed me to find out the truth. I’ll think about it. But, before I come up with a solution, I hope Ms. Walters won’t upload this voice recording

online.

Emery didn’t say anything. Instead, she just left the president’s office.

Erik then secretly texted Martha and told her that Emery had a voice recording of them saying they were the ones who replaced Alexandra’s paper.

After Martha received the text, she breathed heavily and began thinking about what she should do next.

In the CEO’s office of the Ranford Tower.

Julian had just finished signing a pile of contracts. He was sitting in his chair with his eyes closed and massaging his temples.

“By the way, Mr. Ranford. The Young Mrs. just texted me saying she had finished her entrance exam. She felt that she did alright. Do you want to send her a reply?”

“No need. I’ll ask her when I get home,” said Julian.

“Okay, Mr. Ranford. Mr. Ranford, since you’ve already married the Young Mrs., what’s wrong with you two giving each other a call? Why are you always getting me to relay your messages?”

“What? Is it too much to ask of you?”

“That’s not what I mean. What I mean is that what if, one day, the Young Mrs. realizes that she doesn’t even have your number? She’ll feel hurt…”

“Even if she found out, it is just a number. So what is there to feel hurt about?”

Marco felt a little helpless and said, “Mr. Ranford, you know nothing about girls, do you? What if the Mrs.. Ranford wants to find you in an emergency?”

“We’re just partners and benefit from each other. Did you think I was really going to date her?” Julian stood up and continued to work.

Marco was at a loss for words.

He gave up because there was nothing he could do.

Marco turned on his phone, browsed the news, and mumbled, “It would be very unlucky for the person who falls in love with you. The Mrs.. Ranford is so cute. She might even bump into her prince charming at university.”

Julian felt what Marco had said was a little insulting. He accidentally ripped the A4 paper while he was signing his name.

Suddenly, Marco screamed. He had seen what happened at the University of Highclere. He quickly showed the news to Julian.

However, they didn’t know that the person who received the paper was Alexandra, whom they knew.

Marco looked at the viral post and said excitedly. Mr. Ranford, I’m also looking forward to it! I never expected one of the

Chapter 33

Mrs. Ranford’s classmates to be such a talent. I’ve tried last year’s Mathematical Olympiad questions as well. All I can say is that Professor Filion is just a maniac. Is he even a normal guy? I could only answer the first two questions and couldn’t even understand the later ones. I wonder how many marks this mysterious student can get. After all, since Mr. McFadden gave that person such questions, that meant that person could pass the entrance exam, right Mr. Ranford?”

What did you just say?” Julian’s hand froze as he suddenly asked.

“Huh? I meant the student was able to pass…

“Before that.”

“Before that? Professor Filion is a maniac? He’s not a human at all, Mr. Ranford! I’m suspecting that even he doesn’t…”

“Marco.” Julian raised his head with a straight face and asked, “When is Frank coming back to Highclere?”

“He did not tell me. Didn’t you get him out looking for Ace? The last time I saw him on his Facebook, he was in the mountains. He didn’t even have bottled water.”

“How about you go in his place? How about you go enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains?” Julian looked at Marco coldly.

Marco was at a loss for words.

He was wondering what he had said that was wrong. He couldn’t recall that he had offended Julian.

“Well… Mr. Ranford, I’ll go check whether the legal department has finished the contracts.”

Marco ran off as soon as he could after angering his boss..

He mumbled when he was at the door, “I was talking about Professor Filion. What has it got anything to do with you?”

Alexandra was the only one who didn’t know what was going on. She didn’t know what was happening on the University of Highclere’s forum and how popular the post was.

She went and stayed in the library for a while. She looked at her phone a few times and found that Julian didn’t give her a reply.

He didn’t compliment her. He didn’t even tell her that he was aware of what she had said.

Alexandra felt a little disappointed.

She had expected Julian to feel happy for her.

It was said that the marks would be published the following day. By then, she would officially become a member of the University of Highclere. With that thought in mind, Alexandra felt very happy.

Therefore, she decided to go home early today.

However, before she could walk out of the school gates, Alexandra was stopped by a few girls.

“Are you the star Mathematical Olympiad girl, Alexandra? I didn’t expect you to be so good–looking!”

“Wow, smart beauty, can I add you on WhatsApp?”

“I want to as well. I suck at Maths. You can actually do the Mathematical Olympiad as your entrance exam. You’ll go down in the history of the University of Highclere.”

Alexandra was at a loss for words.

She had no idea what was going on.

Chapter 33

Alexandra looked at the girls who had suddenly appeared and felt that they had the wrong person.

How could they possibly know of her?

She didn’t know what the Mathematical Olympiad was. How could she possibly be able to answer such questions?

65%

Alexandra was stunned by the girls‘ overenthusiasm. Finally, she scratched her head and asked, “What are you guys talking about? How do you know me?”

One of the girls immediately showed Alexandra her phone. “Look, you’re already a celebrity at our university. They’ve posted the questions online as well. Look, are these the questions on your entrance exam paper? Everyone is waiting for your exam result!”

Alexandra looked at the post on the phone.

The first thing that came to her mind was that everything was over for her.  Sᴇaʀ*ᴄh the Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

If the paper she did was really the Mathematical Olympiad questions which were challenging even for the top students of the University of Highclere, then Alexandra was sure that she couldn’t possibly answer those questions.

She then thought of the fact that she had previously said that she did well and should be able to pass.

“Well…

That was embarrassing!

“I thought Mr. McFadden said that the questions would be very easy. Didn’t Julian say that the entrance exam could be easily. passed?

“They’re all liars!

“None of them are honest!

“However… how did people on the internet know about my entrance exam paper? Moreover, why do they keep saying that I’m a genius?

“What the hell is going on?”
