Chapter 96 

Even worse, Julian’s blanket was under her body. 

Alexandra had slept beside Julian for the past two nights. She had no idea how soundly she had slept in Julian’s arms. 

Even when she was already in a slumber, once Julian lay on the bed, she would roll over to him like a cat smelling fish. 

Julian was too kind to push her away. 

He just let her hold him like a pillow or a stuffed bear. 

Sure enough, Alexandra would never know about that. 

She tilted her head and glanced at the floor nervously, worrying that Julian might have been kicked to the ground by her. 

Then she wrapped herself in her quilt and rolled to her side. 

“God. What will Grams go back to the Ranford Mansion? 

“I don’t want to sleep with Julian anymore!” she thought in desperation.

When Alexandra got up, Julian had just arrived at the company’s underground parking lot. 

He didn’t want to get up so early but had no choice. As the head of the Ranford Group, he had to be more hard–working than ordinary employees. 

Fortunately, there was not much work to do today. He could get it done soon and go back to accompany Josephine and Alexandra. 

After parking his car, he got out of it and took a few steps forward. His ears slightly moved. 

He then pulled up short. 

Before he turned around, he heard a swoosh coming from behind him.

The bearded man tightened his grip on the tennis bat. Seeing that Julian had dodged his attack, he sneered and spat on the ground. 

Julian moved his wrist with a sullen look and asked coldly. “Who are you?” 

The bearded man did not want to waste time talking and raised the tennis bat that was thicker than his arm as he roared, “Mr. Ranford, you’re heartless. In order to protect your little lover, you actually exposed the privacy of an innocent girl on the Internet! Do you know that Yvonne tried to kill herself by taking sleeping pills last night?” 

Julian felt sorry for that girl. Although he wasn’t the one who victimized her, the fact that she had tried to kill herself made him distressed. 

“Good. Yvonne’s brother came to take revenge on me. 

“Isn’t this what Martha wants to see?” Julian thought. 

Once Yvonne’s suicidal behavior was exposed online, Alexandra would be bombarded with scathing insults. 

Martha got someone else to do her dirty work. She really played her cards well. 

Before Julian could say anything, the bearded brandished the tennis bat and charged at him again. 

Julian had no choice but to fight with his bare hands. 

After parrying several strikes, Julian realized that the bearded man was well–trained. 

His punches and kicks were skilled and he was not attacking by instinct. 

If Julian guessed correctly, the man was a combat expert. 

Although Julian was strong too and knew how to fight, under the attack of a burly man holding a weapon, he couldn’t guarantee that he could walk away unscathed. 

Because the bearded man had a weapon in his hand, Julian barely fought back and just kept dodging nimbly. 

The man was burly, which was both his strength and weakness.

The bearded man’s eyes were ablaze with fury after his bat was snatched. He got on his feet and bolted toward Julian like an angry lion.

Julian was sweating profusely. The bearded man had no intention to stop the fight and Julian would in no way raise the white flag. He took a deep breath and fought with that man again. 

After a while, both of them were exhausted. 

In the end, Julian leaped up and kicked the bearded man’s face, knocking him to the ground. Then he pressed the tennis bat against the man’s jaw. 

The bearded man lay spread eagled on the ground and closed his eyes in despair. 

At this moment, Marco arrived with guards. He’d just gotten to know that Jullian was attacked in the parking lot. 

He was surprised to find that Julian had gotten the attacker under control.

Scared out of his wits, Marco ran over and looked Julian up and down. “Mr. Ranford, are you injured?” 

Julian was too exhausted to speak and casually threw the tennis bat to the ground. 

Then he turned around and left. 

Marco ordered the guards to take the bearded man away for interrogation.

Marco got someone to tie up the bearded man and lock him in an empty basement of the company. 

Frank came in a hurry after being informed of what had happened. When he saw the bearded man who was tied up, he raised his eyebrows. The bearded man frowned at the sight of him. 

Frank said with a smile, “What a surprise, Mr. Droston,” 

Marco asked, “Do you know him?” 

Frank stared at the bearded man’s angry face and said, “He’s Amadeus Droston, the eldest son of Theodore Droston who’s the head of Glosecure, a top–notch security company. Amadeus was already a mixed martial arts champion when he was 18 years old.” 

Marco nodded and couldn’t help but tremble a bit when he looked at Amadeus. Then he said, “So what? Mr. Ranford took him down anyway.” 

In fact, Amadeus had seen Frank before. A few years ago, the two of them had sparred in the underground arena in Highclere City. They were each other’s equal and both of them had a deep impression of that fight. 

Frank had lost in the end. 

Frank had been brooding over it for the past few years because Amadeus had played dirty tricks, or Frank wouldn’t have been defeated by him. 

Being recognized, Amadeus let out a snort. 

At this moment, Julian, who had gone upstairs to take a shower and change into a clean black suit, came in.

Amadeus had come to the Ranford Tower all by himself and attacked Julian regardless of the consequences. Julian had to say that he was impressed by his boldness. 

Marco pulled a chair over for Julian, but Julian did not sit down. 

Instead, he walked to the table and placed his hands on it. Leaning forward slightly, he looked down at Amadeus who was tied to the chair opposite him. 

Amadeus rolled his eyes, not perturbed by the fact that he was outnumbered at all. 

Marco couldn’t stand it anymore. He pointed his finger at Amadeus and said, “Use your brain, big guy. Why are you so stupid? Do you think my boss leaked your sister’s information? Amadeus had a fierce look in his eyes. When his gaze landed on Marco, Marco gave a shudder uncontrollably.
