Once upon a time there was a woman who took great strides to become the kingdom’s greatest hero with promises of freedom for the people. She gave them what she promised and ruled fairly, but what if she lived long enough to become the villain she just got rid of? Okay, yes, at this point you know I am talking about my mom. Over the Summer, Aunt Nikki told me that the demon of our curse has taken over her. I don’t know what to believe really. She is the head of the rebellion and wants to get rid of my mom. I can’t see any motive for my aunt to make this up for me to help her, other than a separate falling out. But what would they fight about that would lead them to this, other than well her being the villain she just got rid of? It was a question that was on my mind for a while, but I had to find the truth.

Everything was set for my junior year at school. I didn’t see Duncan much over the Summer break. His family decided to take vacation out of nowhere to South Padre. They drove down there and took their time sight seeing all the way there. I didn’t get to see him until school started again. It was Aaron, Rachel, Ace, Trey and I hanging out, well, that and band camp. Trey learned to play drums to be in band with the rest of us. We are all alternates now, especially Duncan since he was gone through band camp.

I got out of bed, turned off my alarm, got dressed, and met up with the others down stairs. We went off for the first day of school. Once we got to school, I got to reunited with my Duncan. He was waiting for us outside of the band hall. He ran up and kissed me passionately.

“I am so glad to see you again.” he said with a smile. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“So this is Duncan? I can sort of see the appeal.” Trey said bluntly.

“So I am guessing that is Trey? And there is Ace right? It is hard to tell you two apart.” I told him through one of our many text conversations over the Summer about Trey.

“Yes we are twins what did you expect?” Trey responded rudely.

“I know, it’s just...” Duncan tried to explain

“Nice to meet you too.” He said in a sarcastic tone and walked off.

“Let’s get ready for class; we do not want to be late on the first day.” Ace said trying to avoid talking about what just happened. He walked off after Trey.

Duncan and I did the same. Eventually Duncan and Trey got on a better page during lunch, but oddly school felt the same as last year. The friend group dynamic changed a little bit with Trey being annoying, but other than that everything was the same. I continued to read through classes and all the teachers learned quickly not to bug me. One even asked why I haven’t graduated early or skipped a grade. I told them that my mother wanted me to be social and not all book smarts. The teacher never brought it up again. Maybe she thought I needed to be more social as well? I don’t know. But the day went by fast and, pretty much like every other school day, uneventful.
