"You are like me," Evelyn said to the man who came out of the hut.

He was a little taller and more muscular than Jacob, and his hair was blonde in contrast to Jacob's dark hair. Jacob and I were similar in height and build, but this man was stronger than us.

"Oh, I'm much more than you," he replied as he stood next to Jacob and grinned at Evelyn.

Evelyn seemed offended and raised her hand to knock him over and demonstrate her strength, but the man repelled her attack with his powerful black wings that sprouted and protected him and Jacob. Within a second, he flew into the air, fell on Evelyn, and threw her to the ground. His wings flexed, looking like deadly spearheads beneath Evelyn's neck. His eyes glowed blue and pink, and his calm face now looked terrifying. As quickly as he stood in front of her, he quickly got up again, wiped the dust from his clothes, and held out his hand to Evelyn, helping her get up.

"As I said, I'm much more than you," said the stranger, smiling. Evelyn turned to us, staring in shock. He was so fast that we couldn't even react.

Confused by everything we saw, we all took a step back, but the stranger raised his hands in the air as a sign of surrender and said, "Don't worry, I'm a good one."

He looked at Innia and smiled. "Prophet," he said to her, and she looked at him in shock.

"I think we have a lot to talk about. Why don't you come in?" he said as he walked toward the wooden house. We all just looked after him.

Innia stood with her brother, and the two talked in front of the house in the same place where he was standing. We all went into the house, from where I watched them. After a short conversation, the two fell into each other's arms, and I felt relieved and grateful for my mate. They still had a lot to tell each other, and their first encounter shouldn't be tense, so we left them alone.

"Why don't you tell us who you are?" Evelyn asked the stranger, much more relaxed.

"Where are my manners? I'm Anak. And you are the good beings of Antaris," he said friendly.

"You seem to know a lot about us, and we know nothing about you," I said, keeping an eye on Innia.

"I'm a Nephilim like Evelyn here," Anak said as he sat down and asked us to make ourselves comfortable on the wooden chairs.

"So you’re like me," Evelyn stated.

"Not quite, Evelyn. My father made me with the permission of the father of all beings," Anak explained.

"With permission? But Nephilim are forbidden and outcasts," she said, confused.

"I was conceived to protect Jacob since my father failed to protect Innia. He promised you, didn't he?" Anak asked Innia, who was just coming into the house accompanied by her brother.

"He promised, but in my dream," Innia replied, confused.

"It wasn't just a dream, Innia. What you saw was the past, and Father used it to talk to you. Angels have different powers. After he knew what was happening, he was also aware of what he was going to do," Anak answered.

"What do you mean?" I asked Anak.

"After Innia and Jacob's mother was kidnapped, Father knew that no one knew about Jacob, and sooner or later someone would be looking for him. He hoped that it would be Innia but was afraid that Abbadon might also be looking for him. That's why he fathered me. He guarded us until we were old enough and then left us. Evelyn's father is Chamuel, and the father of all beings was angry when he fathered her. My father gave him what he needed, not what he wanted. His remaining angels were safe, and he could rely on me to keep Jacob safe," Anak explained.

"Your father raised you," Evelyn said hurtfully.

Anak looked at her sympathetically and nodded.

"He stayed here in his human form and raised us to keep his promise. My mother died giving birth to me. I knew what I was from a young age, and he taught me everything," Anak said to her.

"He left us five years ago when he no longer felt Innia and had to go to his father to prepare the remaining army," Anak said. "Five years ago, I fled from Abbadon," Innia said when she heard this.

"Remaining army?" Devas asked, listening intently.

"Your father is the Archangel Michael," Jade said as she read his mind, looking for the truth.

Anak nodded and looked at Innia.

"I protected your brother and will demonstrate Father's word. Like Jacob, I will also look after you until Father comes back," he promised with a smile.

"Grandfather seems to be an amateur when I hear that," Vaell said with a laugh, while Evelyn looked at him angrily, and Devas had to smile.

"You have given up your immortality," Anak said, realizing who Devas and Vaell were to Evelyn.

"I did this for my soulmate," she said proudly.

Anak raised his eyebrow and looked from Evelyn to Devas.

"Your luck, your soulmate is a demon, and you still have a few centuries left," Anak replied, which made me laugh. My laughter caused Anak to look at me, and his head tilted to the side when he saw Innia standing next to me, holding my hand.

"I didn't know you had already found him," he said surprised, and everyone looked at him curiously. Innia and I looked at each other, both aware of our surprise at Anak's statement.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked him.

"Have you been in his dream yet?" Anak asked, looking from me to Innia. I shook my head, not trying to explain much.

"Then you have to go, this is a priority, Paragon," Anak announced, looking at us questionably.

"I came to find my brother, and I'm not leaving without him," Innia explained as she looked at her brother.

"I'll accompany them," Jacob announced, looking at Anak resolutely.

"Then I have to ask you for asylum too," Anak addressed me and Innia. I looked at Devas, who was already smiling enthusiastically. I was aware that he saw Anak's strength and powers as an enrichment for Antaris. And when he nodded to me, I was relieved because Devas, as Father's advisor, had his consent to decide on something like that without him.

"Okay, then we should go," Anak said and stood up.

"Wait," Jacob said and ran into a room, where he looked for something in a box. When he came back, he held a baby blanket in his hand and handed it to Innia.

"This is meant for you from our mother," Jacob said, handing the fluffy blanket to Innia. Innia held it in her hands, and I could feel the sadness and hurt within her.

"She knitted this the night she... thank you," she said as she looked at her brother with tears in her eyes.

Now that we have everything we were looking for, we should go," Devas said and looked at me.

"I agree," I said and looked at Jade to open our portal. When Jade opened the portal, and we all walked through, Aidan greeted us with his guards, who were guarding Antaris. Father and Mother immediately came to check on us and were happy that Jacob accompanied us. Devas asked Father for a conversation and invited Anak to accompany them. He looked at Jacob and nodded as Innia led her brother toward the mansion, knowing that there was no danger for him here.

I joined because I wanted to find out more about what Anak seems to know. After we explained everything to Father, and Anak answered his every question for more than an hour, Father seemed calm.

"You called Innia Paragon, what did you mean by that?" I asked Anak, who looked at me in surprise.

"Innia is not the Paragon. You are the Paragon. I'm not allowed to tell you more," he announced, and we all looked at him in surprise.

"You will find the answers to all your questions in your dream. That's why it is a priority and very important to do this as quickly as possible," he said as he looked from Father to me.

He turned his head to the door and stared at it as if he was expecting someone. When my sister came through the door after a short while, we were all surprised. She just stared at the half-angel, and he looked at her with a confused expression, his eyes shining brightly in their blue-pink color. Elaria's smile seemed to fade after Anak turned away from her and said to us, "We don't have time, it has to be now. Find your mate and go to your dream."
