The Point of Fate
Chapter Twelve

After the shower, Damon left to go deal with pack business and Nate went for a run. I ate a banana and some toast and sat in front of the TV. I started watching movie after movie and kept changing positions on the couch. By the time it was eight, neither of the boys were home and I only had a few more hours until I had to meet with Jared. I ate some left over pizza that was in the oven and went upstairs. I walked through my closet trying to decide what to wear. Then I remembered what I was really supposed to be thinking about. Did I want Jared to turn me? I mean I would be so much more stronger than I was now, so I could take on my overly possessive mates. I decided I would make my mind up when I saw him, so I can ask him a few questions.

Nate

I ran through the woods fast and felt invincible. Blake was on the search for blood. This time I was going to go out of territory and into no-man’s land. I ran through the unfamiliar woods and stopped at a trail. I could hear voices not far off, so I sank behind a bush. I could see a group of four hikers. A girl and three guys. They were talking and laughing as they went along, fully unaware of what waited in the bushes. They had large bags, so they must be going up the mountain to camp. I followed them up the mountain not paying attention to the time.

Damon

“Look, Kent, make sure everyone doubles up when going towards the border. There has been a sighting of the wolf again. He went out of our territory and into unmarked lands. We think he might be a rouge. Just send a few scouts. Okay?”

Kent nodded his head and ran off into the woods. I shook my head, fist the muderous wolf, then fucking vampires, then the wolf comes back. I sighed and thought of Louie. I headed over to my parents. I knocked on the door and my mom answered it.

“Oh, honey, it’s you. You know you don’t have to knock, just come on in.” She said smiling.

“Mom, I have a few questions.” I said as I stepped passed her.

“Okay...First, would you like some coffee?” She asked leading me into the kitchen.

“Sure.” I said and sat down at the island in the middle of the kitchen.

She walked over and poured me a cup of coffee and handed it to me.

“So, what has my son come to ask?” She asked smirking a bit.

“You know the bedtime story with the princess and the two mates?” She nodded. “Well, it’s happening. You heard about Louie, Nate and I.”

“Yes, but does she have a v-”

“Yes. She met him and they........mated.”

“Have you and Nate mated with her?” She asked and her smile disappeared.

“Yes. What do we do though?”

“Well, have you met him?”

“Of course not.” I said and hatred for him built up.

“One things for sure, he’ll have to bite and turn her.”

“What?!” I asked choking on the coffee.

“If they’ve already mated, as you’ve said, if he doesn’t turn her soon, she’ll be in a lot of pain.”

“But she’s a wolf, not a leech!”

“Honey, Since she has three mates, she needs to be strong and werewolf strength isn’t enough. When she turns, which when he does it, it will only take an hour or so, she’ll be a lot stronger. And she’ll be able to handle all the emotional stress that comes with having three mates.” She said taking a sip of the cup.

“So we can’t kill him?” I asked

“No!” She looked shocked. “That would kill Louie. She needs all of you. The only way for it not to hurt, is if she lost a werewolf mate also.”

“That doesn’t make since.”

“When the princess went to war with the vampires, One of her wolf mates fought with the vampire mate. They both ended up killing each other. But it didn’t affect her. In order to get rid of one, you must get rid of two.”

“What if Nate and I were to be killed? Would that affect her?”

“No. Because they cancel out each other. But if that happened, she would become Alpha of your packs and be mated with the vampire.”

Louie

I picked out a blue tank top and a pair of black jean shorts. I walked back downstairs and looked outside. The sun was gone and it was dark out. I glanced at the clock. 11:30. I put on my brown army boots and slipped my jacket on. I stepped outside and a shiver ran down my spine. It was freezing. I sighed and started walking to the waterfall. I hummed to myself as I walked and tried not to freeze. I thought of my mates and a few images didn’t have clothes. Heat rushed to my cheeks and I smiled. My body heated up and I started walking faster. I made it to the waterfall just at midnight. I sat at the top and watched the water fall.

“You came.”

I turned and saw Jared. The moment our eyes locked, memories that he had taken, rushed back. My cheeks heated and I looked away. He chuckled.

“So have you made a decision?” He asked and came to stand behind me.

I turned and he helped me up. “I have a few questions first.”

“Of course. Ask anything and I will try and give you an answer.”

“Why did you lie?” I asked simply and looked at him.

“What do you mean?” He asked looking confused.

“You said it wouldn’t hurt. You lied, they told me it was very, very painful.” His face changed.

“I told you what I had to. I am sorry, if that offends you, but I needed you, and if they got hurt, well it was far from my mind.” He said.

“I forgive you, but if you want my trust, you can’t lie to me anymore.” I said.

He nodded his head looking slightly ashamed.

“When you turn me, if I let you, will it hurt?”

“Only for a few minutes. After that, you’ll go numb, and fall unconscious.”

“Okay, will it hurt them?”

“That depends on how far away they are. The farther away they are, the less it will affect them. They might feel sick if they’re not too close. But say, if they were in your house, well, it will feel more than just being sick.”

“How bad?”

“They’ll feel dizzy, nauseous, pain in their stomach mostly, but it may radiate to the rest of their body.”

I thought for a moment started to dislike this idea.

I snapped up and stared at him. “Why?”

“Well, the stress of having three mates will make you sick. Werewolves are strong, but not strong enough to handle it. That’s why I need to turn you, so you can be stronger.” He said looking a bit pained.

“Well, then...I guess I’m ready.” I said nodding my head.

“Come, lets go into the cave.” He said and took my hand.

Damon

After my mom said that, I left quickly and headed home. I prayed to God that she was still home. I needed to tell her all of this. Heading home, my head started to pound. My stomach started feeling queasy and my head spun. I pulled up to our house and puked right when I opened my car door. What the hell was wrong with me?! I stumbled up to the door and opened it. I fell inside and started to loose my vision. I stood up and stumbled into the living room.

“Louie!” I called.

Nothing. Damn, I’m too late. I collapsed onto the floor as pain rippled in my stomach and throughout my body. Everything started spinning, then everything went black.

Nate

Blake dug into the fourth hiker and feasted. I heard a howl and we froze. I could smell a few wolves coming up the mountain. I knew even with Blake’s strength, we would never make it back. We snuck into the woods, leaving the four dead bodies.

‘What are we going to do? Those wolves are from Damon’s pack.’

‘Leave it to me.’

‘No. You’ll kill them.’

‘We don’t have any other choice.’

Before I could respond, Blake blocked me out. The first wolf came into sight and sniffed around the bodies. Three other wolves came from behind him. All but one, shifted and slipped into only a pair of shorts. All guys, maybe except the wolf. The wolf was a girl. I recognized her as Damon’s step sister. Shit, this was not going to end well. Blake lunged quickly and killed two of the shifted easily. Then he jumped on the third and snapped his neck. The girl couldn’t react towards me, so she jumped over the rocks and headed back towards our territory. Blake jumped quickly and ran after her. We were gaining quickly, and I could smell the fear radiating off of her. Blake lunged again and bit one of her back legs, causing her to stumble and fall. Blake was on her in an instant and pinned her. She shifted and started to cry.

“Please, please, please don’t kill me...” She sobbed.

Blake watched her and I thought maybe he would let her go, but then he growled and bit down on her neck. She screamed and struggled to get free, but Blake just bit harder and eventually she went limp. He licked up some of the blood and then headed home. The closer I got, this sick feeling started to develop in my stomach. I shifted when I found a pair of shorts closer to the house. I slipped them on and stumbled to the house. The door was wide open and as soon as I made it to the porch, my vision started to blur. Just inside the doorway, I collapsed and blacked out.

Louie

Once in the cave, I took off my jacket and my boots. He had me lay down and he leaned over me.

“Just relax, love.” He said.

He kissed my lips and then traveled down to my throat. He kissed and sucked on the tender flesh just above Nate’s mark. I felt his teeth scrape my neck and then sink into the flesh. I felt pain and it spread through my body. I gasped and arched my back. Pain seared through me and I started crying. It hurt so bad and yet there was a soft sweetness to it. I felt him pull away and his face hovered over mine.

“Relax.” His voice echoed. “Sleep sweetheart.”

Slowly I fell into a numb black state. I felt like I was floating and I could see nothing.

Jared

I watched as she slipped away. Her skin slowly started to get stronger. Her chest fell and rose with every breath. He soft brown hair, brightened and grew a little longer. Seconds blurred into minutes, and minutes blurred into an hour, until she woke up. She opened her beautiful violet and silver eyes and smiled at me. I instantly leaned down and kissed her gently. She kissed me back and deepened the kiss by pulling me on top of her. I smiled into her lips and braced myself for her new found strength.

“Love, you’ll need to be careful, you’re a lot stronger now.”

“Sorry.” she sighed and let go of me.

“You wont need to drink blood very often. Maybe you should try shifting and hunting deer or something, that should satisfy your vampire half. Do it at least once a week.”

She nodded her head and sighed.

Louie:

Voices rang inside my head.

“Lou...where are you?” Someone asked.

“What the hell just happened? Where is she?!”

I looked at Jared and winced.

“I think Nate and Damon are looking for me.”

He looked sad for a moment. “Then maybe you should go.”

“Jared, don’t be sad...”

“I’m not...It’s just...I guess I’m just a little jealous.” he said looking slightly embarrassed.

I smirked and pulled him down next to me.

“I’m glad that makes you smile...” he said smirking.

“I can’t help but be with them. I mean... I’ve known both of them since we were pups. Then we grow up and all of this just blows up around us. Then you come along. I just can’t process it all.”

“It’s okay, I understand.” He said smiling sadly.

I kissed him. Then we both pulled away and he helped me up. I grabbed my jacket and put my boots on. He led me out of the cave and gave me one last kiss before disappearing. I thought for a few moments, then took off running in the direction of the house.
