Lyra smiled. “Come here. I’ve missed you so much” she said as she opened her arms wide and gestured for him to come in. Aiden walked to her and widened his arms even wider than hers. “You are the one who deserves at hug. Come here!”

Lyra got up from her bed as she rolled over to the side and stood on her feet. Aiden gave her a big hug and k*ssed her on her forehead.

“You did well, today. I am super proud of you” he k*ssed her again. Lyra looked up as he embraced her. She looked into his eyes as she whispered, “I love you and I would do anything for you, okay?”

Aiden nodded and k*ssed her on the forehead again.

“Now, have a seat back on the bed and let’s plan out how we would make this situation to our advantage”

He released her from his tight embrace and carried her in his arms to the bed. He gently placed her on the bed and turned around to grab a chair. He covered his mask back and adjusted the hat on his head.

“Why do you need that? It’s only just the two of us. No one is coming” she asked him, “Besides, I want to see your beautiful face. Uncover it”

“I would love to, but this is an open area. Anyone can come in and we can never be too careful. It’s safe to put it back on. I can uncover it as much ast you want when you and I meet…” he adjusted his hat as he started to speak but someone cut his off with a knock on the door.

“Who is at the door?” Aiden shouted. The person outside did not answer. Instead, they knocked again. They kept knocking persistently until both Lyra and Aiden started to become infuriated with the sound of tock on the door. Aiden stood up to check who it was. As he angrily the door, his face met with the eyes of their Alpha, Lucian.

“Aiden, why are you in the healer’s clothes and what are you doin here?”The alpha asked him. Aiden froze on the spot and so did Ly was lying on the bed. Her heartbeat started to beat faster.

Hadn’t he gone away far enough?

“Alpha, I apologize for not coming with your permission. I came to see the Luna, Lyra. I heard about what had happened to her and I told myself I had to come see her. It would be terrible of me not to come, she is like family to me. Like the sister I had just lost” he said to the alpha. Aiden was hoping to invoke pity from the alpha but it didn’t seem to be working.

“So why did you come dressed up as the healer who had treated her before?” Lucian asked him. He wasn’t not buying their story. Everything looked suspicious to him.

“Well, for that. I heard that the healers would not allow anyone who wasn’t the alpha to enter and so I had to improvise. The Luna here is someone I am really close to and so, I had to take that risk for her. I hope that doesn’t offend you, Alpha. I intended no harm whatsoever. I apologize if it does, I can leave immediately” he said.

Lucian studied his face for a while before gesturing to him to leave.

“Get out of here” he said.

“No” Lyra said. She stopped him abruptly.” I do not want him to leave. He was helping me soothe out the pain of loosing my first child, why would you send him away?” She continued.

Lucian turned to look at her. He took a deep breath as he got ready to speak.

“Luna, if the alpha has given an order, I have to obey it. I do not wish to disrespect the Alpha. Please, let me leave, I will be back another time or I shall see you when you are out of this place” Aiden pretended to by

“No, you can’t leave. Instead of you leaving, let the Alpha leave. L excuse us. I wish to be left alone with Aiden”

Her words sent shocks down the alpha’s spine. Was Lyra really askin to get out? Because of Aiden?
