Chapter 30 

Nadia shook her head as she fell down. She had just hit her head on a tree. That strike to the head had brought her back to the present. She was so lost in her thoughts that she forgot what she was doing, she had sl*pped through a wet floor and rolled down. She tried to pick herself back up but instead, she rolled faster. 

Vance watched as she rolled to the end, he stood there laughing and later went to help, but it was a little too late, Nadia rmed into a tree. He ran to her, on meeting her there with her legs in the air and he head down, he bursted out laughing. He could barely hold himself and so could Nadia as she also joined him in laughing. 

The two of them stood there laughing for a while before Vance finally tried to help her up. This was a new experience for her. Usually, if that was Lucian who had seen her like that, he would have gotten upset and screamed at her without hesitation, but it looked. like Vance was different, he laughed away his pain first before he decided to find a solution to them. She liked that. 

“I’m so 

sorry about that. That was totally my fault” he said as he pulled her up. Nadia had shifted back to her human self as she grabbed him. She was now balanced on her two feet as she let go of his hand and shifted back a little. She heaved a sigh and then looked at him. He was still smiling and she couldn’t help but admire him. 

“It’s alright. I enjoyed myself. I like this” 

She said as she smiled too. She took a step back to dust herself as he moved forward to help her out. Nadia stopped and stared. She was slightly surprised, Lucian had stopped helping her with things like that. He would rather stand there and watch her as he scolded her and called her clumsy. The new experience was crazy for Nadia to take in. She tried to slow her mind down from over thinking. 

“All done. What do you think? Don’t you look good? or is there anything else I missed?” He asked her as he stepped back to check her out. Nadia looked around as she tried to scan her outfit. It looked good as she couldn’t find any stain and so she turned her face. back to him and nodded. 

“Okay. If that is that, how about we go back home and grab breakfast?” He said as he extended his hand to her. He smiled at her. Nadia looked down at his hands and tried to assess them. She was really skeptical about touching people or letting people interlock. hands with her. It was always difficult for her and she wanted to refuse but she was Nadia anymore, she was Iris. She smiled and grabbed his hands. He interlocked his fingers in her as he put the other hand on her waist. She snuggled her a little as they walked down the hill. 

“So… I know it’s a lot to ask, but if I could, I would like to, can I?” He asked her to turn to face her. They were almost at the door when he made that move.

Chapter 30 

“Is something wrong?” She asked innocently as she pressed down on his finger. She was. nervous and always did that to comfort her. Vance wouldn’t know nor did she think he would understand but strangely, he said something that shocked. 

“That must be your new ‘i don’t feel comfortable‘ sign. Well. I initially wanted to talk to you about something but if you’re not comfortable, I guess I can’t force you. I’ll wait till you’re ready. I have you forever so there is no need to rush things” Vance said to her as he gave her a reassuring smile. Nadia hadn’t expected him to understand but strangely, he did. 

“Let’s go inside and have breakfast, I’ll make steak for you. Is it still your favorite? I remembered you loved steak and always requested it whenever you were in a good mood. Can I make that?” He asked her. The owner of Nadia’s new b*dy must have loved steak but she wasn’t so crazy about that. She couldn’t let him know that and so, she decided something different. 

“How about we eat whatever you make? It must not be steak. Anything you desire at all” 

she answered. 

Vance nodded and turned. He looked like he was making a list of what he needed to make breakfast. Nadia watched him with a smile. She was sure Lucian would have never done this for her, somehow, she was grateful she was in this b*dy. How nice of Vance. 

The couple walked into the house where they found Iris son playing with a couple of kids. An unfamiliar lady walks up to Nadia as she pulls her by the arm and drags her to the corner of the room. Vance smiles as he lets the strange woman pull her away. He walks towards the kitchen. Nadia’s eyes widened as she wondered why he would let someone pull her away that way. Who was this woman?

had pulled her far from everyone. She stopped as she turned around to observe. It seemed the lady wasn’t fine with the kids possibly eavesdropping and so she pulled Nadia out again. They were headed out to the front yard. All the while she pulled

trying to see if she could remember the woman but she couldn’t. She hadn’t said a woman because she didn’t know anything about the lady but pulling her around was beginning to piss Nadia off. 

The lady pulled her out the door and was heading to the woods when Nadia suddenly pulled her arm and flung it off her. In shock, the woman let her go. Nadia turned to ask the woman who she was but was shocked when the woman spoke first. 

“I know your secret”
