Chapter 72

“Tay is much too thin. Her complexion has grown much healthier thanks to your care, Daisy.”

Gordon would never have done these things in the past.

Dad and Mom were surprised at how attentive he was, and they couldn’t help exchanging glances.

“Tay has always been picky with her food. There are so many things she doesn’t like eating. It’s fortunate that I know what she likes, so I simply cook the things that she enjoys eating. Gordon, I’m not sure if the food I cook is to your taste, but come back more often if you like it. I’ll cook for the both of you,” Mom said, smiling.

“Of course the food you cook is delicious, Daisy! You’re just as good as a Michelin chef! I’ll bring Tay back frequently in the future for meals together,” Gordon said with a smile.

His implication startled me.

I said hurriedly, “Well, I don’t need you to bring me here, either. I live here now.”

Unexpectedly, he simply gave a light smile..

“We’re already married. It isn’t good for you to keep living at your parents‘ house and disrupting their lives. Charles, Daisy, I’d like to take Tay home today. We’ve been apart for so long that I kind of miss her.”

What?

He… missed me?

Did he want to take me home?

What was Gordon playing at?

Nothing had happened between us since the day we got married. Now that he was being so forward, I was utterly confused.

I looked at him strangely. I couldn’t figure out what he was playing at, but he looked oddly sincere.

Dad and Mom exchanged looks, but they obviously couldn’t be happier..

They had only criticized Gordon because they felt that he didn’t care enough about me.

Now that Gordon had personally come bearing gifts and was going to bring me home himself, Dad Immediately said, “That’s true. We’ve been telling Tay that she shouldn’t be living with us now that she’s married. I’m delighted that you came today, Gordon. When we’ve finished dinner, Tay can go home with you.”

“Dad, you didn’t even ask me for my opinion. How could you decide for me?: I protested at once.

Dad would always take my side, but this time, he chose to back Gordon up.

He

said sternly, “Don’t be silly! Now that you’re married, you can’t keep staying here. Gordon came here to get you specifically, so don’t throw a tantrum. Since you’re married, you should live a good life together,

alright?”

“But…”

I was extremely reluctant. The reason I had moved back to my parents‘ house in the first place was that L refused to live with Gordon in Hovilham Residence, which always seemed as cold as ice.

*No buts. Sweetie, Gordon wants the two of you to live happily together. Listen to us and go back with

him.”  Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I had no idea what kind of spell Gordon had cast. Not only was Dad refusing to let me have my way, but

even Mom was trying to persuade me to return.

“I see that women who are married really have no homes of their own,” I complained.

Since my parents had made their opinions clear, what else could I say? All I could do was pout.

My complaint amused Dad, Mom, and Gordon.

Gordon reached out and pinched my cheek affectionately right before my parents.

“Daisy and Charles are doing this for our sake. You’re their only daughter. Who would they dote on if not

you?”
