“Is she alive?” a voice asked with an uncertain tone.

“For the fifth time, yes she is.” some said annoyed.

The footsteps of someone running were heard and they stop somewhere close to me.

The person next to me sighed as the other person laughed.

“It’s not funny stupid idiot! You can’t joke about things like this!”

“Auch. Stop hitting me because I’m not interested. Stop hitting on me, boy. You’re not my type.”

I groaned and rubbed my head. “Stop bickering.”

“Thank God she’s alive. I can’t lose my favorite person.”

I opened my eyes and blinked since everything was blurry. I was in a hospital bed, but I have only the wires from the heart monitor on me. Next to me, on my left, was Windy’s boyfriend with a relieved face. The other guy has dark brown hair and Hazel eyes. He was staring at me with a goofy smile.

He waved his hand at me still smiling. “Hi!! I’m Leaf and girl, you can throw a punch.”

My eyes widen in recognization. “You are the guy from the cafeteria. The one that told me that I rock. I’m Shadow.” I smiled and extended my hand.

He scoffed and slapped my hand. “Girl, you are my homie now so we don’t shake hands. Gimme a hug.” he opened his eyes his smile intact.

How can he smile all the time? He’s almost shinning with happiness.

Hazel was exactly like this one. Maybe he still is, but who knows.

I reluctantly opened my arms and he hugged me almost immediately. He squashed me into his chest with his iron grip and turned to the first guy with pleading eyes.

“Can we keep her? Pweeease!!! I’ll feed her, buy her clothes and walk her around the school.”

The guy rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “She’s not a dog, Leaf. And she can come with us if Blast agrees and if she passes the challenges.”

And with that he was gone leaving me alone with this guy.

I chuckled and shook my head. “What’s your name Windy’s boyfriend? I think that you pretty much already know my name.”

“Yeah. I know your name, but you know my name too.” he said with a straight face.

I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. I was gaping like a fish trying to form a coherent phrase.

“I missed you too, Shadow. Me? Oh, I’m fine. A little stressed but fine. Thanks for asking.” he’s the same sarcastic idiot.

I squealed and jumped on him, hugging him. “I can’t believe that it’s you! Of course I missed you, loser.”

He chuckled and hugged me back. “Well, this loser has a girlfriend and I’m part of the best team here. I don’t think that this things make me a loser, but okay.”

“Shut the fuck up. For me you are a loser. I mean who is afraid of squirrels?” I pulled back and scoffed at him.

He glared at me. “Those are little evil fluffy things. They hide behind those cold heartless eyes and cute little noses. I’m tellin’ ya.”

I rolled my eyes and the door opened. Windy and Iron came in and my eyes focused on the big cheese burger from Iron’s hand.

“What’s that in your hand, Iron?” I asked pointing at the burger.

Iron rolled his eyes and handed me the heaven between 2 slice of bread. “Hello to you too, Shadow. Glad to see that you’re fine and back to your hungry self.”

“I’m sorry if Aiden made you uncomfortable or if he said something bad.”

I started to laugh and cough in the same time. Iron patted my back and Aiden glared at his girlfriend.

She smiled at him. “You know that I love you.” she walked to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. AND STRANGLED HIM. Joking.

He smirked and hugged her waist. “I know how you can make up to me.”

She smirked and bridged her face closer to his.

“PDA ALLERT!!” Me and Iron yelled and covered each others eyes.

“Why are you yell-AAAH. MY EYES. THEY BURN.” Leaf yelled as he entered the room.

Aiden scoffed. “You can uncover your eyes.”

Iron removed his hand and so I did with mine.

“Bro. I just found you. Please don’t make me want to avoid you.” I said with a face.

Everyone looked at us with confused faces and we smirked.

“Don’t you know that this little devil is my lil sister?” Aiden said and wrapped an arm around me. “Look. We are almost twins.”

Even I scoffed at the last one. We are almost opposite looking. He has black hair, mine is blonde. His eyes are jade green and mines are blue. He is slim and tall, I’m petite and I have some meat on my bones.

“Okay. I wasn’t expecting this.” Iron muttered while Leaf hugged me and Aiden.

“I’m so happy for you too!” *sniff* “I’m sorry, but this things make me so emotional.”

Windy chuckled and said nothing, but I’m sure that she will bombarded Aiden with questions later.

“Get your hands off me or you will lose them.” Aiden growled at Leaf and he let us go with a scoff.

I chuckled and decided to say something before Aiden skins him alive. “Leaf! Did you found Blast?”

He smiled again and his eyes twinkled. “Of course I did. I’m me. I can do anything. And he is completely fine with it. He actually said that he wanted to place you in our team!! How great is that!!”

“What team? What? I’m confused.”

Don’t tell me that we have teams here too.

“Of course we have teams here too, silly.” Leaf said and sit on the bed, almost knocked me off from it.

“Pfff, no. Here all the teams are named after natural disasters: eartquake, storm, tornado, tsunami and many others. We, the fucking best from this whole freaking place, are Team Apocalypse.” Leaf said with a proud smile.

I like the name Apocalypse because if Apocalypse ever comes, all our enemies will fucking die.

“So? What do you think? Will you come in our team?” he nudged me with his shoulder and looked at me with a hopeful smile.

“Am I missing something? What happened? Who are those fuckers? Let’s kill them! Keep calm, it will look like it was an accident.” Leaf said and I could see how he was already making a plan.

I looked down and played with my ring. “After I started to act all weird and psychotic, they just gave up on me and sent me to Raven. And when I left they didn’t even bother to say goodbye...But the past is past.”

Suddenly, Leaf was on his feet red faced. “There’s not the way you treat a friend or even a team mate! You can’t do that! That’s so cruel and heartless. I can’t wait to meet them and punch them right in the fucking face.”

I grabbed his arm and dragged him back on his seat. “Calm down. They aren’t worth it.”

“And if you want to punch them all, you’ll have to punch you’re brother too because Hazel is in her ex team.” Aiden said and waited to see Leaf’s reaction.

So that’s why they have the same hazel eyes and have the same bubbly personality.

“That’s even better.” he said tapping his foot impatient.

“Leaf. Are you hyperactive?” I asked him as I remembered that everyone here has a mental illness. His foot tapping and always energetic personality says it all.

He nodded his head and tried to stop his tapping, but failed miserably. “I have ADHD, but I can control it if I take my meds. Okay, sometimes it’s harder to control it, especially when I’m angry, but I can handle it. I learnt to. It’s not that bad if you get used to it.”

I decided to change the subject since Leaf it looks really bothered by ‘the brother and ADHD’ topic. “How many you are in this team?”

And the smile is back on his face. “Me, Windy girl, Iron boy, Aiden fucker and Python. You’ll meet him soon. So 5, with you 6. If you decide to join us, of course. And if you pass the challenges, but I’m more than sure that you will.”

I don’t know about you, but I sure want to take part of those challenges.

Yeah, you want it just because you can show yourself off.

Maybe just a little, but come on!! You want to! And they look pretty fine to me. You know, no risks no wins.

“YASS. I have a new best friend!!! And she will be in my team!!!” Leaf pulled me in another bear hug and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“You know my sister for like, 3 hours and you two look closer than me with her and I know her since she was born.” Aiden said and Leaf sticks his tongue at him.

“Jealous much? But keep calm, I won’t steal your sister because she’s already my homie and my best friend!”

“God, it was already bad that we have a gossip girl and now we have a gossip girl and a mini she-Hulk. Great.” Iron muttered and Windy glared at him.

“Don’t be a meanie! A negative one too! Leave them alone. It was about time since Leaf would find a best friend.”

“Okay, calm down woman. Your are like my second mom.”

“So what? Do you have a problem with it?”

“No ma’am.”

I chuckled and shook my head. One last shoot, Shadow. It’s now or never.
