Chapter 13 

I sat down,a look of annoyance etched on my face as I glared at her. 

I haven’t seen Lucien in about a week now and just as I was about to go see him,I got the news that he wants to have dinner with me. I didn’t think much about it. I thought it would be just us. 

I couldn’t hide my surprise and irritation when I saw Eva,she was seated opposite me in her black and grey Stripe off shouldered dress that flowed as she walked. She was always dressed like she wanted everyone to look at her. That attention seeking b*tch!. 

“Why is She here?,” I gritted my teeth and stabbed the meat with the fork I was holding. 

“Who?” Lucien asked and I stared at him in disbelief. He wants to feign ignorance. He knew who I was talking about!. 

There were only two other women seated around the table besides me and one was Giselle, dressed in a pale yellow sleeveless dress. The other was Eva. He couldn’t possibly think I was talking about Giselle. 

“I was invited,” she said,stopping me from saying anything further before she continued, “mama taught you better than this!. Have some damn respect!. You’re seated at the dining table!” 

“Don’t talk about Mother!!,” I shot out,standing up. 

“Enough the both of you. Amara please sit. We are at a dining table” Giselle said and I clenched my fist as I sat down. 

Lucien never uttered a word, he just held my hand,lightly squeezing it with reassurance and I sighed before I continued eating. 

I immediately got up as soon as I was done and Lucien followed me. I was walking rapidly before hands grabbed me,I turned and it was him. 

“I want to show you something.” He said pulling me towards a room and I followed him. 

The room was adorned with intricate details in every corner, from ornate patterns. on the wallpaper to meticulously crafted woodwork, the room was a symphony of

He approached with a gentle smile, tracing the curve of my n*eck with his fingers. With utmost tenderness, he lifted the n*ecklace, allowing it to dangle gracefully in

Instinctively I tilted my head, offering him a canvas of my n*eckline. I felt him delicately drape the n*ecklace around my n*eck, his fingers brushing against my skin, creating tingles as my breath hitched in my throat.

“It looks good on you,” he announced with a smile and I held the pendant delicately with my hands,admiring the crystal.

I smiled at that as we spoke about other things. 

“Your mother would want you to have this,” she said as she handed me a box when I was about to leave.

“Something she kept for you,” she said as she turned to go back inside,leaving me with a box and Raven’s eager eyes. 

As soon as we got to the mansion, I went to my room without seeing Lucien first. 

In the dimly lit room, I opened the box and there were tons of notes in them and pictures. I viewed the pictures, they were different pictures of her when she was younger. There was pictures of me too. 

I smiled sadly as I looked at the pictures. I then raised my pillow upwards and opened the envelope I saw there. 

It was a picture of my boys. It was taken on their sixth birthday in front of the park. Kai was scowling while Rick was smiling widely,showing his incomplete teeth. 

I remembered that day vividly, Kai had gotten angry over Rick’s choice of food and I had scolded him. They were twins but they were always fighting, Kai being the wild one and Rick being soft and gentle. They were like opposite sides of a coin and I often told them not to fight as they were both halves with each one completing the other.

I miss them so much!. I’ve gotten used to them that I can’t fall asleep without looking at their picture and crying my eyes out before I could sleep.

I don’t know if the mating bond could grow again but it seems like it could as all I could think about all day was him and the taste of his l*ps.

I glanced at the picture of my children and burst into tears again. 

I don’t know how long I had been crying before I hear the room open and almost immediately strong arms held me to a wall. It wasn’t a walk,it was Lucien’s chest. 

I sobbed and felt his hand stroking my hair,the weight of my sorrow hung heavy in the air. As tears streamed down my cheeks, I held him tighter,his arms becoming a sanctuary against the tide of emotions. 

As I buried my face in the warmth of his chest, he whispered soft reassurances, his words comforting me in their own ways. 

He suddenly pulled out,leaving me with a certain emptiness and I saw him picked up a picture,it was the picture of Rick and Kai and he opened his mouth and then turned to me. 

He never asked for a picture,so i never bothered to show him. 

“They look so much like me,” He breathed out and I nodded. 

“And Kai’s like you too. He’s strong“, I retorted and He smiled before enveloping me in another bone crushihg hug. 

At that instant,I believed that everything was going to be fine.
