I ate in silence,ignoring Greyson’s stare from the other side of the table. I just wasn’t in the mood to listen to anything he had to say. It was already hard dealing with the elders who were glad to have heard about amara’s infidelity. 

They must’ve laughed amongst themselves and say. ‘see,I told you. He thinks he’s smart wanting to make a useless weak omega the luna.’ 

I hadn’t spoke to Giselle since the incident,its been two weeks already. I just couldn’t face her. I felt like I failed her. 

Rolan died right here in this mansion where he felt the safest. Our dear little Rolan.she loved him dearly. I felt incompetent, I couldn’t save my own brother!. 

Raven was a good soldier,one of the best we had,he was strong,very strong,almost stronger than Greyson.

I gulped down the rest of the drink in my glass,and Grayson sighed.

‘He was,’ I said,clearly surprised that he had left the talks of the women I loved and was now talking about Raven. 

‘He couldn’t have just died like that,‘ he said and I dropped the glass of vodka I was about to drink,sighing. 

He had a point. I knew Raven,he was strong and quick,you couldn’t sneak up on him and he would never go down without a fight. 

Greyson had requested that an autopsy be carried out to determine the cause of death and requested my approval. I had given him without question as I just couldn’t. 

I knew as soon as I saw the b*dy that there was something suspicious about it,but I was sure Amara didn’t know and her answer had been simple,she wasn’t around when he died,she met him like that. 

The b*dy held a familiar smell, it was the same one from amara’s mother,what was strange was the fact that there was no sign of struggle. He must’ve been outsmarted…or saw his killer’s face,which proves once again that Norman,the Crone’s son, was the man we’ve been looking for. He must’ve kidnapped his mother to get her out of here and maybe she struggled,she not agreeing with her and he must’ve kidnapped her instead,perhaps to not reveal his identity.

‘Maybe amara could give us more information,you know,maybe there’s something she forgot to tell us,’ he said and I chuckled.

‘She doesn;t know anything..,‘ I started. ‘I know that for sure and I know, that you know it was the blood creek. It was a wolf. It was Norman Finch.” 

He didn’t seem surprised, ‘yes, I know. I figured. I saw the autopsy. I wanted to know if she maybe..perhaps she saw him‘ 

‘I don’t think he did,but don’t worry, I will get that bastard. I will get him and make him suffer a fate worse than death,’ I stated as I stood up,leaving greyson. 

I walked briskly towards my room and was about to shut the door behind me when I saw Eve looking at me from afar. 

She must have some guts to keep gazing at me. She began to walk slowly towards me and I looked inside the room,stuck between going inside which I wanted to do or listen to this gothic woman who looked like the queen of all evils. 

‘Alpha,‘ she said,her voice sounding cool,like she had no problems. 

‘Miss Müller,how may I help you?,is there any more information you have about the blood creek?,‘ I questioned,wanting nothing more than to get away from her. She smelled like garlic and something I couldn’t quite remember. 

‘No. I’m here with information about

‘you’re going to look at a picture of her before you fall asleep,‘ she stated,excitement lacing her voice. 

I quickly turned to stare at her,in shock. how did you

I always looked at her picture as I thought about all the times I shared with her,I always put it beside me as I slept. I missed her so much. I couldn’t help it. No. matter what,she was my mate. I still am in love with her. But nob*dy should’ve known that, I always did that in the confines of my room. 

‘Well…your blinds were open one night while I was taking a stroll and I couldn’t help but notice that..’ she said and I scrunched my brows in confusion. 

‘You came here for a midnight stroll?,”

She clearly didn’t respect me and I really did not have her time just yet. 

She had come with valuable information and the only thing she requested was that. we provide shelter for her here in the mansion. She was a guest but was beginning to irk me.

I gazed at the children’s photo that was now framed on the wall and I muttered a silent promise. I brought out Amara’s picture from underneath the sheets and crumpled it into a ball and threw it into the bin. 

I plopped onto the bed and then got up again and after pacing round the room for a while,I picked up the crumpled picture from the bin. 

I didn’t want her to not think about me. I wanted her to go through the exact same pain I felt as I thought about her every night. 

I held the picture, arranged it to be a bit better and kept it under the sheets. It’ll be like she’s with me.
