Chapter 42 

It was hard looking at Greyson and believing that he’s been lying to all of us. 

I couldn’t confront him,he’d of course deny it. He didn’t seem like someone capable of whatever gruesome things that had been happening. My mother’s death,my children’s abduction and the other deaths. 

It does seem realistic if he was the one responsible. He had the power to do that,he has always been one step ahead of Lucien, because he knows everything Lucien has been doing. 

I saw him alone at the archery range and walked up to him. 

“Hey Grey,” I greeted and without turning,he grunted in acknowledgement. 

I had the time to take in all his features. He was handsome,with his black hair which looked like they were intentionally ruffled and his very sharp jawline and sturdy arms. He looked like he belonged on a runway. 

“You’re shooting arrows on your own. Are you thinking of something?,” I questioned. 

He didn’t stop when he replied. “Am I supposed to think of anything?,” 

“I heard people shoot arrows when they’re stressed out about something,” I said and he didn’t say anything. 

“Isn’t Giselle angry at the thought of Eve being here?,” I asked. 

He suddenly stopped and turned to me.

“What do you mean?,” he asked as his arrow met the bullseye.. 

“She,being back..,” I was saying wh

He turned to me,the bow still in his hands. 

“Look here Amara,I don’t know what it is you’re thinking or you want. You came here and you asked if I was thinking of anything,then you asked about Giselle and Eve and then now Rielle?. What exactly is it you want to know,” he asked,irritation laced in his voice. 

“I..I don’t even. I wanted to ask if you think Rielle is saying the truth…about the baby,” I said and he began shooting again. 

“It doesn’t matter what I think. If you want to have a conversation about this,you know where Lucien is,go to him,” he said. 

“I think Rielle is lying about Norman!,” I blurted out and watched his face,to see if there’d be any emotions to betray him. 

He was either a good actor or he really didn’t know anything. Because his expression did not change. 

“Do you know Norman?,” he asked. 

“Yes,when we were children,” I said and he chuckled lightly. 

“Someone you knew when you were a child could grow up to be something else.,like Norman,” he said and I sighed. Not the response I was aiming for. 

“If you don’t mind,I want to be alone,” he said and I sighed and began to walk 

away. 

“And Amara?,” he called and I turned back. 

“I’m sorry for your Loss. Lucien told me,” he said and I nodded and began to walk 

away. 

Maybe he was a victim too,like Eve. 

Eve had told me when I asked how come She hadn’t told Lucien about Greyson.

She found out about her mate a long time after. It was Norman, but it was a bit too late. He had become a part of something he couldn’t leave, the blood creek and he was under an oath to never reveal who it’s leader was. 

Apparently, it was he who had been giving her information,but there was a limit to what he could tell her, because of the oath. He only said he was the second in command. 

She couldn’t say anything because she wasn’t sure if Greyson was under the same curse she was under or if he was indeed the leader of the blood creek. The former was highly unlikely as he seems to not know about anything. 

Who then is the leader of this blood creek?, and why is Rielle helping him?. 

I walked towards Lucien’s room,I knew I couldn’t tell him anything.I didn’t have proof and he’ll only see me as a liar,but I still had to warn him. Rielle must’ve been back here for a reason, anything.probably to take something,anything at all. 

I knocked lightly on the door and heard him grunt. 

“It’s Amara,” I said. 

“Come in.” 

I opened the door and trudged inside,shutting the door behind me. 

“Lucien…,” I started as I watched him gulp down the vodka in his glass.

Lucien hadn’t spent time with him at all. It was like he was avoiding him and Rick didn’t seem to mind, he didn’t believe that Lucien was his father. 

“About Rielle,” I started and Lucien downed the remaining drink in a single shot. 

“What about her?, I know you don’t like her,but for my sake,try to be understanding and just don’t start any trouble,” he cautioned and I scoffed. 

“You’re right,I don’t just “don’t like” her, I hate her!. I hate that you’ve all fallen for her lies and deceits, especially you!!…” I was still saying when he cut me off. 

“I didn’t expect this behaviour from you. This is so not you at all,Behaving like a barbarian!,” he said and I swallowed hard as I clenched my fist.

I gasped and stared at him in shock. He was talking about Rielle like I didn’t exist. 

“And me?I’m the mother of your boys,your mate!!,your true mate!!!,” I exclaimed. 

He muttered something as he got up and moved towards the window. He seemed to be in distress. 

“I know you can’t throw Rielle out, I’m not asking you to,I’m just telling you to not forget the kind of person she is and that you shouldn’t believe her,you should do your own research!,” I added and he kept quiet.
