I was looking at Rielle and Rick, they were playing a game of some sort and wanted me to join them. We looked like the perfect family, but this wasn’t the person I wanted a perfect family with, it was her, Amara.

As I began to wonder how she was doing?, I made a me ntal note to go see her discreetly. This evil witch decided that she was a threat and she was thrown into the cell alongside my own sister!

I turned my head towards the source of the noise and I saw some guards running towards the cell, they all had a panicked and alarmed look on their faces, I instantly knew that something was wrong.

I hadn’t seen Greyson for almost a day now, he was furious that I let Giselle be thrown into a cell. He should have been here, sorting out this issue or making sure they came to me to inform me about what was going on.

Rielle had noticed the distress too and she stood up.

“Take Rick inside,” I muttered and made to go outside, to ascertain the cause of the commotion when she grabbed my arms.

She shook her head. “I want to go with you, I’m Luna, after all, the mother of Silverpine. I need to know if there is a problem in my own home.

I knew that stopping her would be futile so I allowed her and I saw her call one of

the maids.

“Take him to his room and remain with him,” she ordered and the maid nodded as

she took Rick with her.

We went outside, to the deliberation room, and a few of the guards were gathered. Greyson was there and he looked furious.

“Alpha-Luna,” they greeted in unison as soon as we entered.

“What is going on here?” Rielle asked before I could say anything and I saw

Greyson clench his jaw, he must really be angry and pis sed off.

“Alpha, we need to have a meeting,” he looked at me and our gaze met. From his eyes, I knew what he meant, he didn’t want Rielle there with us.

I had a gnawing feeling that whatever was wrong was pretty serious, serious enough that he didn’t want Rielle to find out about it.

“Greyson,” she drawled out his name as she took a step closer to him, the other guards had their heads bowed, not daring to look into her face.

I realized that since Rielle came back, claiming to be pregnant, she didn’t bother hiding the kind of person she was, she was intimidating and bold. She once fired a maid for looking at her in the eye.

“Do you

have a problem with me being here?” she questioned but he didn’t say anything, he just stood with no expression whatsoever on his face.

She sighed and glanced at the guards, then she pointed at one of them.

“You!”

He stepped forward and from the way her eyes twi nkled mischievously, I knew that whatever she was planning wasn’t good.

“Slap him,” she ordered and the guard’s head shot up.

“Luna_,” he stuttered.

My eyes met Greyson’s and they were blazing with fury.

“I said, SLAP HIM,hard,” she barked and the guard seemed to look at me for help.

“Stop this!” I commanded. I too had had enough of Rielle’s madness. Did she want to slap my beta?

She turned to me, her glare was cold and she was seething with anger as she clenched her fist to her side.

“And Rielle, go to your room. This is not a place for a pregnant woman,” I told her and she inhaled deeply before sauntering off without a word.

I didn’t need to be told that she was pis sed off and the goddess knows what she’d do this time around.

I faced the guards. “As you know, your Luna is with child, and being with a child does a lot to a woman, forgive your Luna’s rudeness and insensitivity,” I said and they nodded.

Greyson just sighed, he must have felt like my speech was nonsense, knowing that I allowed her to humiliate him, just like I allowed Giselle to be humiliated and thrown in the cell.

“Well, what exactly is going on?” I questioned, already dreading the news, even

before being told.

“The prisoners have escaped,” the head of the guards blurted out and my eyes widened in shock. I of course knew which prisoners they were talking about. It was why Greyson looked pis sed.

I wanted to keep them both in the cell as a way to protect them, knowing that if they were allowed to leave, I wouldn’t be able to guarantee their safety from Rielle and the blood creek.

My heart sk ipped a beat as several thoughts raced through my mind. How exactly had this happened?, I wondered because I had doubted security and Amara wasn’t one to have such skills to run away even Giselle.

I sighed as realization dawned on me, someone had taken them away, whoever that someone was and his reason, it couldn’t be good.

“How did this happen? Where were the guards on duty?” I demanded and the head guard cleared his throat.

“Dead. They were found dead, they had consumed some sort of poisonous ale. My assumption is that they were betrayed by their fellow guard or someone

impersonating a guard and a drink was passed to them,” he paused for emphasis before continuing.

“Probably for celebration. And that was how the person was able to go in and get

them out.”

I curled my fist into a ball, suddenly angry as I thought about who might have

done that.

It couldn’t be Rielle, she didn’t seem like she wanted Amara to leave the mansion, she wanted her to probably die of humiliation. This person was someone who wanted to get them both out quickly, both Amara and Giselle and I stood up as a thought suddenly occurred to me.

Greyson!, I hadn’t seen him throughout the day before as he seemed to have left angrily after Giselle’s arrest. He would never let anything happen to his mate, he might just be the person I was thinking about.
