I woke up disoriented, my surroundings blurred as I struggled to make sense of where I was. I was patched and my lips were dry, almost cracked,

My heart raced and as I attempted to call out to anyone, hoping that we could talk it out, I realized that my mouth had been taped shut.

I tried to move, to free myself from the restraints as my hands and feet were bound tightly,

My senses heightened and I strained my cars for any sign of him. His smell was faint which meant. that he was either nearby or had just left.

Suddenly, the smell became intense and I heard heavy footsteps walking towards me. I stood upright.

“You’re awake-how interesting,” he stated and I attempted to speak, but it came out muf fled,

He chuckled. “What do you want to say?”

“Perhaps, explain why you’re awake now? I used a large amount of wolfsbane that would kill even the strongest of men, but in less than three hours you’re awake,” he paused and I glared at him, confirming my suspicions, Rielle had told him about my powers.

He pulled off the tape from my mouth, making me wince with pain.

I rubbed my mouth and heaved a sigh. “Rielle told you,” it was a statement rather than a question and he held a puzzled expression on his face.

“Rielle?,” he chuckled and I scrunched my face. “So Rielle knew too, how interesting.”

I blinked rapidly. What he was saying was that Rielle didn’t send him, he didn’t know about Rielle finding out. Then how the heck did he find out about my power?

“How-,” I squinted my eyes, I was sure that I was careful.

“How I found out?” He chuckled and I became scared.

I had suspected Greyson, but Seeing him like this, seeing him laugh hysterically like a maniac was just too much. It was strange and scary,

“You aren’t as careful as you thought. I found out about it a long time ago,” he revealed and I swallowed hard.

“Where is my son?” I demanded. I at least had to see my son before he’d kill me.

“Your son?, why would I have him?”

“You-,” I scrunched my brows together. Why was he acting as if he didn’t know anything about my

son?

He smiled sadly, shaking his head. “I don’t have your son, you think I’m the blood creek, I’m not.”

“If you’re not the leader or even a member of the Blood Creek, then who are you? what are you?,who sent you and why did you kidnap me?” I demanded, suddenly furious as my eyes blazed.

His jaw clenched and his eyes darkened. “So many questions, but I’m not expected to answer them. As to why I kidnapped you, it was to test my theory, to see if you really were strong.”

I inhaled deeply, grounding my teeth. So he did all these to test a theory. “What if I had died?”

“Then that’d be a waste and also prove that I was wrong. But you’re alive,” he said as he bent down to cut the restraints on my hand and feet.

“You asshole!” I yelled as I punched him.

“Where is Giselle?” He questioned and I ground my teeth, huffing and panting due to the anger that coursed through my veins.

“You kidnapped me, to find her? you crazy psychopath!” I yelled and he shrugged.

“I really need to find her, help me,” he said and I shook my head. He won’t be getting any help from

me.

“How did you find me?”

His eyes lit up as he smiled. “It wasn’t that hard, although it was luck. I was walking aimlessly and picked your scent.”

I still wasn’t convinced but I didn’t say anything.

“I’ll let you go. I’m not your enemy here. I’ll let you go if you tell me where Giselle is,” he stated and I shook my head.

“To me, you’re the enemy-,” I was still talking when he cut me off.

“You know who the enemy is.” He pointed out.

“At least I know Rielle’s intention, but yours,I don’t know. I don’t know what it is you want.”

“I just want to find my mate, the love of my life,” he said firmly and I swallowed hard.

He sounded sincere, so sincere that I was tempted to believe him.

“What were you doing in human territory?” I questioned and he furrowed his brows.

I raised a brow, questioningly.

“Human territory?” He replied, a puzzled expression etched on his face.

“Was it you, who told Lucien something like that?”

“He mentioned it to you?” I questioned and he nodded.

“Well, Rick said he saw you and Rick never forgets a face,” I admitted and he scoffed.

“You accused me over the words of a little boy? A boy that might not even be sure of what he saw,” he declared, glaring at me in disbelief.

“You were there,” I stated firmly and he shook his head.

“If I was there, then it was because of pack business. I don’t fancy the human territory and all the times I’ve been there was on an assignment, sent by Lucien himself.”

“Where’s Giselle?” He demanded again.

“I’m not saying anything. Even Giselle doesn’t trust you. If she did, she would’ve called you immediately after she broke out of the cell. So if she doesn’t trust you enough to reveal her location to you, then I won’t either,” I explained.

“I’ll help you. Let’s help each other,” he stated and I glanced at him.

“How? How can you help me? will you bring me, my son?”

“Yes.”

I narrowed my eyes at him.

“There’s something Lucien hasn’t told you. It’s about the blood moon,” he paused and I squinted my

eyes.

The blood moon was still a few weeks away.

“What?” I whispered.

“The artifact is missing, has been missing for a while now, since Rielle’s arrival. It didn’t seem like it was taken by her, maybe someone else, someone we totally weren’t expecting-,”

I gasped as he was still talking. With the artifact, with or without the blood moon, he could be sacrificed
