Chapter 57

? XAVIER POV?

The ride to X constructions was the longest ride of my life, even before we got there the media were already there and the whole place was surrounded by police and fire fighters trying to put off the fire.

I stood there rooted in one spot, too shocked to say a word as I watched Jayden try to get information from them.

“The fire was lit up by someone, we couldn’t find anything in the building that could have caused the outbreak” one of the men from the fire service said after about an hour

later.

“This is my company building, I don’t think I have any enemies who would want to put an end to my business. I can’t even wrap my head around the fact that something this terrible happened to me” I said as my heart squeezed in hurt. The whole scenario was still quiet shocking for me, the reporters and the police asked some questions before leaving.

“We should leave Alpha, I don’t think it is healthy for you to continue standing here. We have been on this spot for hours” Jayden said in concern and I just joined him in the car tiredly.

My company was gone, that was one of the major finances of the pack. How do I run the pack without the company?? Some major documents have been burnt to the ground, this would make go bankrupt. The more I think of it, the more hot my head. becomes. My whole world has ended, where do I even start from I tried to control my emotions the entire time.

Immediately we got to my pack house, I got down from the car and made my way into. the forest trying to calm my nerves. I screamed in anoyance and my voice echoed in the

open fields. Changing into my wolf form, I ran towards the water falls trying to get the anger off my system. My wolf whimpered in pain, I haven’t felt this much pain after Emerald and I separated. The only time I experienced the painful feeling was when I said the rejection words back to my mate.

The painful memories of my father’s words came my mind. He never thought I was worthy of handling the pack, he always saw me as a failure. Up until his death I spent my entire life trying to prove to him that I was worthy of being pack’s Alpha, and right when I thought I had something I was really good at even if I failed in my duty to protect the members of the pack, I lost it all.

“You are being too hard on yourself” my wolf said and I groaned in pain.

“I should be…I failed ..Rolfe …I failed…” I said as the words choked in my throat. The feeling of guilt, pain, regret and anger ate me up.

“You didn’t fail Xavier, you tried your best to be the Alpha of the people, loosing the company does not make

“You should go home, everyone must be looking for you” he said and I sighed.

“I can’t look them in the eyes Rolfe especially Rachel and the kids” I said and bowed my head sadly.

My life is such a mess right now and I feel so embarrassed about it, things just seems to be getting bad every day. I stood up and watched the waters as the memory of when last I was here came my mind.

I stopped running when my eyes caught sight of the beautiful lady in the water.

“Don’t come any closer am n*ked” her sweet voice hit my ears as I stared at her unable to pull of my eyes from her b*dy. The fresh smell of rose flowers hit my nostrils and it seem to be getting more closer with each step I took towards her.

The pull, the scent everything seem to be making more sense, am sure she could feel it too because she her eyes darkened in lust.

“Mate” we both said in unison as I made my way over to her in the pool.

I bent down and captured her plump pink l*ps in mine as she melted in my arms and we k*ssed hungrily.

After breakfast the k*ss, I brought her clothes for her to change and she sat next to me shyly.

“Ain’t you feeling cold?” she asked calmly.

“Nope” I said as I held her hands softly.

“Where have you been all my life?” I asked and she chuckled.

“What is your name? which pack the you belong to?” I asked and she stared at me nervously.

“I belong to your pack Alpha Xavier, and my name is Emerald Willows” she said and I smiled.

“It is supirising that we belong to the same pack and I haven’t met you all this while” I

“I don’t go out that much” she said softly and that seem to make sense.

We talked about a lot of things that evening, from our likes to dislikes. Emerald make me feel different, she was a breath of fresh air in my dark life. Everything about my father was suffocating, from his crazy rules to the fact that he wanted me to marry Lina. I just did not understand why he wanted Lina for me. The S*x was mind blowing but we didn’t match, we argue about a lot of things and she liked the extravagant life more than the welfare of the members of the pack.

Introducing Emerald to my Dad was the worse mistake of my life, it went from one problem to the other and then he stated the fact that he wouldn’t accept her to our face.

She didn’t have a worthy background and even the goddess playing matchmaker would not change his mind. Emerald and I fought for our love, at least up until she took revenge by killing dad. Right now I don’t even know what to think.

“You know what, let’s just talk later” I said and ended the call then threw my phone on the bed.

“This is what I have always wanted, to put an end to his reign, to hurt him and make him feel what I felt when he stripped me off my rights as Luna. Why then do I feel hurt and unsatisfied?” I asked myself as my eyes stung with tears.

“Revenge that is what you have always wanted Emerald, you shut me out because you never wanted my opinion” Nala said and I held the tears that threatened to escape my

eyes.

“Xavier didn’t think twice about it when he hurt me Nala, you can’t tell me am doing the wrong thing” I fired angrily.

“I haven’t said anything, that is just your conscience talking” she said and I ran my fingers in my hair in frustration.

“I should just check up on Xavier” I said and made my way out of the room.

“We came back since two hours ago, am also trying to figure out where he went” Jayden said and I became even more anxious.

What if he hurt himself in the process, I wondered as my heart beat crazily against my chest. I am not supposed to care, so why do I care so much? why exactly does my heart yearn for him.

back inside and wait for him, am pretty sure he would be joining you soon” he said and I gave a nod as I made my way out of the house and into the field.

There is no way am going back into the house without finding him. Where are you Xavier ? I wondered and something came to my mind immediately. There is only one place to find him when he is worried about something. I increased my pace as I made my way towards the water fall.

“Xavier” I called immediately I got there and he swam out of the water. My eyes met his. blood shot eyes as he stared at me without a word, I could see tears roll out of his eyes. mixed with the drops of water from the river.

“How did you find me?” he asked with deep seriousness in his tone.

“Get in” he said and I stood rooted on the spot.

“Get into the pond now Rachel” he said and I took off my sandals as the coldness of the water hit my feets, I made my way into the water while keeping an eye contact with him.

I hope I don’t end up regretting this.
