“I see, you’ve found out the truth”Jayden smirked as he wiped the blood stains from his mouth.
“How could you Jayden, if anyone would end up betraying me in this life I still can’t believe you are on thar list !” Xavier bursted angrily.
“You can’t believe I will be on the list because, you thought wrongly Xavier!” Jayden screamed in equal anger.
“For years, I stayed under your shadows dying in silence. When all I wanted to do is to f ucking kill you!” Jayden bursted angrily.
“What did you take me for? A st upid follower of yours who does not have anything meaningful to do with his life?? You are too weak and too emotional to be the Alpha of the Red blood pack !” he bursted angrily and Lina cried silently.
“That is where you are mistaken Jayden, caring about others does not make me weak. I made a big mistake by picking you from the slumps and giving you a life, I should have let you rot if I knew just how cruel you truly are” Xavier said and Jayden chuckled bitterly.
“Cruel? You have always had things easy for you because of the sick legacy your father left behind for you. Do you know what he did to my family? My father should be the rightful owner of the pack, but he betrayed him, took over and f ucking made me one of the pack servants!” Jayden bursted angrily.
“Although, I was too young to understand anything, I knew I will have to get my revenge somehow…” he trailed.
“By sabotaging me and even killing the members of the pack, you desperately want to rule?” Xavier mocked.
“You don’t have the heart to rule anyone, not when you can go as far as beating up a woman like she is your personal punching bag” Xavier said and Jayden looked away in embarrassment.
“I made her who she is today, I guess I was helping an ungrateful piece of sh it!”Jayden bursted as he glared at her.
“Helping me and manipulating my entire life does not make you a good person Jayden. Being with you have been toxic” Lina said crying.
“I refuse to give up without a fight” Jayden said in a challenging manner.

I challenge you Alpha Xaiver in a fight for the thron, to a fight to the death” Jayden said in a bitter tone that made the room filled with tension.
Everyone knows what the fighting for the throne and fight to the death was all about. It is a war that goes on when another pack member believe he is more worthy to be in the position than the present Alpha.
That was the same thing that happened to both Jayden fathers which made Carlos take over as the pack leader.
“Challenge accepted” Xavier said and we all froze.
If it was up to me, Jayden did not have the rights to go on a fight for the crown. He lost that the moment it was revealed that he is a threat to the pack.
And a fight to the death between the man I love and his enemy is not how I wanted my day to end. The fact that Xavier would go through pain while fighting his best friend made my eyes sting with tears.
Jayden laughed like a maniac as a threw a threatening glare at Lina’s direction who
moved close to me out of fear.
“We will be meeting tonight Xavier said and left the room not after Lina and I though.
“I’m so sorry that Jayden had to find out like this” Lina said as she cried bitterly.
“You would be dead by now if we wasted a second” I said and looked out of the window
of Xavier’s car.
“I can’t believe Jayden could be this cruel, it hurts that I gave him everything and even supported him in his sick games” she said crying bitterly.
Xavier was quiet throughout our ride back to the pack house. When we got home, I told the driver to take us to Jason’s place.
His younger sister opened the door for us as she led is inside.
“Jax the Luna is here” she called out and her mom’s eyes moved over to Lina and 1.
“Jeez what happened to you?” his mom asked when her eyes met Lina’s face and b*dy.
*Let me guess, Jayden decided to use you as a personal punching bag again? Is that guy even normal?” Jax asked as he joined us.
“She was lucky Xavier and I walked in right on time, it would have been a different story I said and they were both quite.
The Alpha knows the truth?” his mom asked curiously.

“Yes, and he isn’t taking it lightly” I muttured under my breath calmly.
“I heard you guys are back together, at this point I don’t know what to feel” Jax mother said sadly and I bent to her level as I held her hand.
“I’m sorry ma’am, I’m so sorry that I could not give you the justice you deserve. This whole thing is like hurting myself instead of Xavier I said as my eyes was moist with
tears.
“Love always wins in the end they say” she said with a smile and we both chuckled.
“Is Xavier really going on a fight to the death with Jayden?” Lina asked and everyone. stared at us in shock.
“WHAT! they screamed in horror.
“Jayden challenged him and Xavier accepted the challenge. I dont think he will change his mind either I said and an uncomfortable silence filled the room.
Jax drove me back to the pack house after I pleaded with them that Lina should stay with them for the main time, at least that osy the last place Jayden would expect her to
bc.
Immediately I got into our room.Xavier was sitted on one spot quietly.
“My Love” I called him and his blood shot eyes met mine.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to fight with him” I said and he stared at me.
“I’m trying to figure out what went wrong Emerald, I cant even control the pain in my heart and that is what is hurt more” he said and I walked into his arms as I cried.
“You are not weak my love, you just have a big heart” I said and it hurt that he wasn’t crying out. I wanted to share in his pain and at least, give him some sought of assurance that everything was fine.
“I am here my love, right here with you through it all’ I said as I cried and he just had his arms around my waist the entire time as he didn’t say anything.
It was late at night when I heard the drums and the fire was lit up in the fields, as the members of the pack gathered around to see the future of the pack.
Xavier was quiet the entire time, I stayed with him and we both walked out together.
Jayden was already in field ready for the duel. We got there and the drums stop.
We watched the both of them shift into their wolf form and my heart beat crazily, as the wolves stood snarling at each other in anger.

Jayden made to attack and I watched them fight like their life depended on it. With each bite and growl my heart nearly jumped out of my chest.

It went on and on for long and with a loud shout, the members of the pack screamed in- shock as we watched Xavier rip out Jayden’s heart from his chest.
My heart squeezed in hurt and I can imagine how Xavier was feeling at the moment.
Jayden shifted back go his human form, and we all stared at him laying on the floor lifeless.
Xavier walked passed him into the forests.
I went after him immediately, I did not want to imagine what was running through his
mind.
Shifting into my wolf form I tried to meet his pace I slowed down when my eyes meet him at the lake staring into space. Raising his eyes towards the heavens he paid his last respect to his best friend.
I walk over to him, and after shifting to our human forms we just stayed there silently, listening to the silent breeze.
“I killed him Em…” he trailed as his voice broke down completely.
“Hey…it is not your fault” I said and he cried uncontrollably. Something he had been controlling for long
“If you didn’t kill him, he would have killed you. Someone had to die and Jayden deserved what he brought on himself” I said and pulled him into my arms.
“I love you baby” he said and I k*ssed his forehead.
“I love you more, dont you ever think you are alone am always here with you okay” I said as I cried with him.
The future was uncertain at this point, but no matter what happens I just want to go through this by his side.
