Chapter 62 The Press Conference

“Evelyn, help me. I’ll treat you to meals for a hundred years, anything.” Lydia was furious, “That despicable woman deliberately slandered me in front of the reporters, and now she shamelessly wants to hold a press conference to clarify for me. It’s absolutely disgusting.”

Evelyn chuckled, “Time, place, shall we meet?”

“Alright.” Lydia agreed readily. After hanging up the phone, she glanced guiltily at Mrs. Hall, who had been standing behind her all along.

“Mom, do you think my actions are too malicious? You’ve always favored Mia so much these

years.

“Do you think I’m as foolish as you?” Mrs. Hall sneered. “I’ve observed people my whole life. How could I not know what kind of person she is? If it weren’t for you insisting on treating her

well, she would never have set foot in this family.”

Hearing these words, Lydia first breathed a sigh of relief, then blushed, feeling ashamed of her

past naivety.

“Mom, I know I was wrong. I was too childish before, and it’s time for me to grow up. I’ll handle

this matter on my own.”

Mrs. Hall was about to speak when Lydia interrupted, “Trust me.”

Π

She didn’t know where this newfound confidence came from; she just unexplainably believed in Evelyn.

In the coffee shop.

When Lydia arrived, there was still a woman sitting next to Evelyn, she is heavily made.

up and dressed provocatively. Evelyn seemed to feel that the makeup on the woman’s face was not enough, so she continued using a makeup brush to touch up the eyeshadow and jawline.

The familiar feeling from that face made Lydia extremely uncomfortable.

She tugged at her slightly messy big wavy hair. “Evelyn, did you call me here just to watch your makeup artistry show?”

“Makeup artistry?” Evelyn’s l*ps curved, her eyebrows slightly furrowed. She finished the final stroke of eyeliner before stopping.

“Don’t you think this person looks exactly like you?” Evelyn suggested.

Chapter 62 The Press Conference

Following Mia’s advice, Lydia had been presenting a S*xy and alluring image, wearing tight dresses with big wavy hair, and a heavy makeup.

Lydia scowled. “Although I often wear heavy makeup, it’s not to the extent of exaggeration, right?”

“Take another look.” Evelyn took out her phone, adjusted the beauty filter, took a photo of the woman next to her and then handed the phone to Lydia.

“This…” Lydia was dumbfounded.

However, the photo, under the adjustment of the beauty filter, the woman’s makeup appeared lighter, revealing a face that was identical to hers in every way–expressions, posture, even resembling a clone of herself.

“With this, all the blame will be shifted to Mia,” Evelyn explained. ‘You just need to sit quietly and enjoy the show. All the blame will be thrown back on Mia.”

If Lydia had any doubts before, she was now completely convinced and trusted Evelyn

implicitly.

“What do you want me to do?” Lydia asked.

*Just sit back and enjoy the show,” Evelyn said mysteriously, turning her attention to removing the makeup from the woman’s face.

The press conference was scheduled for the next day.

Mia appeared extremely haggard, accompanied by her close friend Yulianna Lopez and Emily.

As everyone looked at Mia’s pale face, a strong sense of sympathy arose.

“I heard that Miss Taylor and Lydia have been friends for eight years. I can’t imagine how long she’s been bullied and how much she’s suffered.”

“When reporters found her yesterday, she was soaked in icy water, as if that malicious woman Lydia had pushed her into the swimming pool.”

“You didn’t see the bruises on Miss Taylor’s arms.”

“Heh, that malicious woman, why doesn’t she just die? Fortunately, someone has exposed her

true face.”  Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ (ꜰind)ɴʘvel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Chapter 62 The Press Conference

Reporters eagerly thrust microphones in front of Mia.

“Miss Taylor, considering Lydia’s cruelty towards you, why are you holding a press conference to clarify for her? Is she forcing you to do this?”

“Don’t you think Miss Taylor’s current actions are bowing down to evil forces?*

“Miss Taylor…”

Mia immediately shook her head, with a face that clearly showed being forced and helpless, saying, “No, Lydia has always been good to me. I held this press conference because I don’t want you all to misunderstand her.”

“Mia, don’t continue to endure this. Yulianna, looking at Mia’s distressed appearance,

exploded, “How did that freak Lydia hurt you? Have you forgotten? At a time like this, you’re still defending her.”

With that, she directly pulled up Mia’s sleeve, revealing a patch of bruises. “Look at this, all caused by that Miss Lydia. She even threatened Mia, saying that if she spoke out, she would target The Taylor family and ruin Mia’s modeling career.”

The crowd erupted in astonishment.

“Why doesn’t that malicious woman just die?”

“I really want to see the true face of this young lady…”

Amidst the discussions, someone suddenly shouted in the crowd.

“Lydia is live streaming, quickly open your phones and take a look.”
