Chapter 37 - The Fight

Gunnar, Bianca, the guards, and the warriors all shifted into their wolves and ran into the crowd of witches. Helios, Hermes, Nyx, Eris, and Sabnac ran with the wolves and used their magic on the witches. Some of the witches froze when they realized they were fighting gods and goddesses. They knew their magic wouldn’t be able to defeat them.

Selena and Zaiden stayed next to each other. From what Leto had said their powers would be stronger if they were together. They used their power to take out one witch at a time by throwing small balls of fire at them that turned them into ash instantly. Achyls stayed back to watch, but she was getting angrier and angrier as the witches were defeated.

Polly and Trisha watched everything while holding hands. They wanted to help, but they would never disobey their parents. They watched their mom and dad’s wolves attack one witch after another. Omar and Alani’s wolves were ripping off the witch’s heads as were the guards and other warriors. Andrew and Jameson used their magic to fight along with the others.

Everyone was watching Achyls to make sure she didn’t attack while they were distracted. Nyx, Eris, and Sabnac were trying to get to Achyls.

“Why didn’t you tell us we were fighting gods and goddesses? You tricked us into thinking we were only fighting shifters.” Asked Vivian, who was one of the witches closest to Achyls.

“I don’t have to tell you anything. You all belong to me and will do as I say.” She replied while not looking at the witch who dared to question her.

“We do not belong to you. We can leave whenever we want.” Vivian flew into the air above the fight.

“All witches. Achyls has led us here to be slaughtered. We can continue fighting, we can leave or we can attack Achyls. I say we attack the one who is getting us killed.” She said. The fighting stopped when everyone heard her. The witches all turned to Achyls.

“You can’t fight me. I will destroy you.” She screamed at them. Gunnar, Bianca, and everyone else on their side stepped back to see what was going to happen.

“You brought us here to die. Do you really think you can beat all of us?” Vivian asked, landing in front of the witches. Achyls was ready to lose it. She was not going to let her incompetent witches ruin everything.

“You will get back to fighting or I will kill you all. This is your last warning.” Achyls rose above the witches.

“We don’t answer to you. ATTACK!!” Vivian yelled. Nyx knew it wouldn’t work because Achyls was too powerful, but they were thankful for the distraction.

All of the witches flew toward Achyls. She turned into a fine mist and flew through the witches. One by one they began to fall to their death. The remaining witches tried to say spells to stop her and some of them tried to leave. Achyls went after the ones trying to get away killing them all. She then focused on the ones trying to place spells on her. Their magic had no effect on her.

“I hope you enjoyed this little show. Now you all know what to expect when you die. I will not leave any survivors.” Nyx could tell that Achyls was losing control. They needed to attack her butthey had to be careful and do it in a way that wouldn’t give Achyls the advantage.

“Your own witches turned on you. That shows us you’re not as strong as you think you are.” Nyx yelled at her. Lachlan held her hand. He didn’t want to admit it buthe was scared that not all of them would survive. If Achyls came after Nyx she would have to go through him first. He may die, but dying for his mate was worth it.

“Oh, Mommy dearest is that your mate? I can’t believe you lowered yourself to mate with a dog.” She said from above them.

“Don’t you worry about who I’m mated to. You will never understand how it feels to be someone’s mate and to fall in love. Your heart is too black. When you have a black heart it blinds you from letting anything else in. We will kill you and send you to hell where you’ll spend eternity. I will ensure that Satan shows you no mercy.” Nyx spoke softly but Achyls heard every word. It was pitch black outside andas the goddess of night, Nyx’s power was the strongest at night.

“I would rather have a black heart than a bleeding heart. I’m done with this back-and-forth talk.” Achyls said as she rose higher in the air. Gunanr, Bianca, and the other shifters backed away from her. Nyx, Helios, Hermes, Sebnac, Eris, Andrew, and Jameson stepped forward. Selena and Zaiden joined them. The shifters wouldn’t be able to defeat Achyls but the others could.

Selena and Zaiden created an enormous fireball and threw it at Achyls. It hit her but all it did was make her mad. It was enough of a distraction to allow Eris to make herself invisible without Achyls realizing it. She flew behind Achyls.

“Boo,” she said before disappearing again. She made herself look like Achyls and floated in front of her.

“It’s like looking into a mirror isn’t. So crazy bitch how would you kill yourself?” Eris laughed as she flew away from Achyls. She disappeared again as Achyls tried to chase her. She led her down to the others. Helios suddenly became covered in fire. He yelled as he ran toward Achyls and grabbed her arm. The fire burned her but she turned herself back into a mist and floated away. Helios returned to normal.

“Sorry, fire breath, you’re going to have to do better than that. I have a better idea. You let me kill all of you or I will kill her.” Achyls suddenly reappeared with Bianca in her arms. Gunnar ran toward them. Bianca had been next to him one second and gone the next.

“Let her go.” He yelled as he ran as fast as he could. Bianca tried to get loose but Achyls grip on her was too tight.

“No. I think it’s time for someone from your side to die.” As Achyls prepared to crush Bianca’s body she was suddenly covered in glitter. She was so startled that she dropped Bianca into Gunnar’s arms. When Achyls looked up she saw the glitter was coming from near the door.

“You leave our Mommy alone you stupid witch,” Polly screamed at her. When she and Trisha saw Bianca in Achyls arms their protective instincts took over. Achyls smiled evilly. She couldn’t see them but she knew where they were.

”Well hello, little cubs. I think I found my first victims.” Achyls disappeared and as everyone ran toward the cubs they froze when they heard screams that pierced their hearts.
