The Sorcerer and Storm Maker
Chapter 15

The Dark Sorcerer made his to the castle, riding his Black Death Beast, what was left of the royal guards stood in front of the castle gates with all their weapons to stop the Dark Sorcerer from entering the castle.

The Dark Sorcerer smiled upon seeing the guards, finding it amusing that they actually thought they stood a chance against him.

The Sorcerer then landed his beast in front of the guards.

The guards upon seeing him were filled with fear and terror but still stood their grounds and tried to hide the fact that they were all terrified of the Sorcerer.

The Dark Sorcerer could sense the fear the guards were trying to hide from him, he then smiled once again before turning to his beast and commanding it to attack the guards.

The beast then slowly approached the guards.

The guards readied their weapons for battle before charging straight for the beast.

But before they could reach the beast it spewed out a thick black smoke out of its mouth that burned off the skin and flesh from the charging guards, piles of bones were all that remained of the royal guards.

The Dark Sorcerer just smiled before he snapped his finger, then the castle gates opened up.

The Dark Sorcerer then turned to his beast and commanded it to stand guard in front of the gate and kill anyone that dares to come too close to the gate.

He wanted to be alone while he exacts his revenge on the king.

The Dark Sorcerer then went into the castle.

He roamed the castle halls looking for the king; he then stopped upon see a portrait of the former royal family.

He looked at the king’s elder brother and sighed deeply, feeling a great deal of sadness and pain as he looked at the portrait.

He then looked at the rest of the family and then felt a great rage come over him.

He could not stand to see the other members of the royal family.

He hated them all with all his heart and wanted them all to suffer.

He then placed his hand on the portrait and then the portrait then began to burn.

The Dark Sorcerer then removed his hand from the portrait, allowing it to burn completely.

The Dark Sorcerer was about to leave but before he did he looked at the portrait one more time and saw the king’s elder and then sighed deeply as he watched it burn before he left.

Atoni rushed to his room along with his daughter.

He locked all the doors in the room and barracked it whatever he could find to block the door to prevent anybody that wanted to harm him or his daughter from coming in.

“I’m scared father” said Tari who looked at her father with a look of pure fear and terror.

Tari was already immensely scared but the fact she didn’t understand what was going on made her even more frightened.

“Everything is going to be alright my sweet child” said Atoni in an attempt to comfort his frightened daughter.

“Why do you lie to the child Atoni” said a voice come from outside the room.

Atoni then held Tari close to protect her.

“Leave us alone please, we’ve done nothing wrong to you” said Atoni.

The door he locked and barracked then exploded, then emerging from the smoke from the explosion was none other than the Dark Sorcerer himself.

Atoni then stood in front of his daughter, wanting to protect her from the Dark Sorcerer.

“The great King Atoni, you have no idea how happy I am to see you and what’s this you have your daughter here with you how splendid now I don’t have to struggle to searching for her to enact my revenge upon you and your miserable family” said the Dark Sorcerer spotting the king’s daughter, Tari, from behind him.

“Revenge for what?” asked Atoni not knowing why the Dark Sorcerer wanted revenge on him and his family.

“You don’t remember?” asked the Dark Sorcerer with a sinister smile on his face.

The Dark Sorcerer then used his dark magic to strike the king and sent him falling down to the ground before he lifted him up from the ground using his magic and brought him to him.

“I want you to think back to your past, to the terrible and heartless things your family did, remember the blood your family shed” said the Dark Sorcerer.

“I don’t know what you are talking about” said Atoni still not knowing what the Atoni was talking about.

“Oh really, you still can’t remember” said the Dark Sorcerer enraged by Atoni still acting like he did not know what he was talking about.

The Dark Sorcerer then struck Atoni with his dark magic which brought nothing but agonizing pain to him.

Tari watched, frozen with horror and fear as the Dark Sorcerer tortured and inflicted tremendous pain upon her father.

Atoni screamed out in pain as the Dark Sorcerer continued to use his dark magic on him, inflicting more and more pain to him.

The Dark Sorcerer then stopped using his magic to bring Atoni pain and caused Atoni to sigh from relief.

“If you can’t remember the past as you claim I will give you a clue that will remind you of the past and the pain your family caused” said the Dark Sorcerer before he uttered the name, “Baringa”.

The king’s face then froze up with shock upon hearing the name that came out of the Dark Sorcerer’s mouth.

Then as memory began to form in Atoni’s mind from when his parents and brother were still alive.

“Father, mother please, spare her life Baringa has done nothing wrong” said prince Dayugo, Atoni’s elder brother, as he stood in front of their parent, the king and queen of Buganbal at the time.

“Stop talking child, these words are not your own, they are the words of that witch” said queen Ibinara, Atoni’s mother.

“I swear on my life if you call my beloved a witch again I will not hesitate to take my own life” said Dayugo.

“DAYUGO!!!!!” screamed king Adanjan to his son, angry at him for threaten his own life to protect Sorceress he was in love with.

“We will not discuss this any further child” said Ibinara.

“But…” Dayugo was cut off by Ibinara saying, “But nothing, what is done is done, the witch shall be trialed and executed in a few days”.

Dayugo became enrage and was filled with hatred for his parents.

He was about to leave but before he did he said to them, “I hate you all with all my heart and soul, I promise you all if any harm comes to my beloved you all will pay dearly for it”.

Dayugo then left; meanwhile a young prince Atoni watched everything from a small opening in door.

Atoni tried to stop his brother from leaving, calling out to him and begged him to stay but he did not listen to his call or his pleads for him to stay.

That was the last time Atoni saw Dayugo alive.

A few days later the king and queen had Baringa executed for supposedly ‘enchanting’ Dayugo with a magical spell that made him fall madly in love with her.

Then a few more day after the execution of the sorceress Baringa Dayugo’s body was found lying down lifeless and dead on the street with a note on his chest that said;

“I have no love, I have no hope, I am alone and so I end my life. Seeing no point in breathing, I use my last breath to tell you all I am in love with a sorceress who was killed for the love we shared. Since she died because of our love it is only fitting that I do the same. May my soul rest in the arms of my dead love once more so I can find peace in death?”

Atoni’s parents told him that his brother was bewitched and did not mean what he wrote in the note, saying he was probably being tormented by a spell put upon him by the Sorceress or was being haunted by the ghost of the sorceress herself which forced him to take his own life.

There words poisoned the king’s mind against all who wielded magic and caused him to fear them and their magic.

Atoni memory then came to an end.

He then looked at the Dark Sorcerer, recognizing him and the now knew the reason behind his rage and hatred.

“Please have mercy on me and my daughter, it was my parents that made that mistake not us” said Atoni.

“Their mistake cost me everything and instead of growing up with love and happiness, I grew with hate and resentment for your family. I will make you all pay by ending your lives and taking everything from you; your wealth, your power and kingdom will be mine. Even though I couldn’t kill your mother I managed to kill your father but that wasn’t enough to relieve me of my pain, I needed to completely eradicate your entire family and I would have if it wasn’t for the Storm Maker and Sorceress. Now I’ve returned to finish what your parents started all those years ago” said the Dark Sorcerer with a wicked smile before he turned to look at Tari who looked back at him with a look of pure fear and horror as it she was looking at the devil himself.
