Afini in the form of a storm cloud flew above the kingdom of Buganbal, raining down lightning and thunder from the sky looking for the king.

Alaelra, on the streets down below, searched around the kingdom, disappearing and then reappearing in different place searching of the king as well.

Meanwhile Delamu and king Atoni hidden behind a dark alleyway watched the chaos and havoc the monsters the Dark Sorcerer released from the realm of eternal night unleashed upon Buganbal.

It was even more horrifying for the king as he watched his subject panicking and running from great big monstrous beasts with fear and pure terror in their eyes.

The king watched as the beast devoured those who could not run away fast enough to escape them leaving nothing behind as they did so, not even a piece of their bones or flesh.

The king sighed and bowed down his head.

“What is wrong my lord?” asked Delamu noticing that the king’s mind was disturbed.

“This” said the king pointing at the chaos going on in his kingdom.

“Please Delamu stop calling me lord, that is a title is meant for a king who still has a kingdom to rule” said Atoni.

“My...” Delamu was stopped by Atoni saying, “don’t call me that, please. I don’t deserve to me called lord, look around Delamu. My people are running around scared and panicking, my kingdom is falling apart soon there be nothing left and the sad part it I deserve it after all I inherited the narrow minded view of my parents which was what brought the Dark Sorcerer here craving revenge in the first place”.

“What are you talking about?” asked Delamu unsure of what the king was talking about.

“My parents, the king and queen who ruled before me did something unforgiveable, it was a mistake so great that years after their deaths I and my kingdom are now suffering because of it” said Atoni.

“I don’t understand my king” said Delamu still confused as to what the king was talking about.

“You don’t have to Delamu, all you need to know is everything that is happening is my family’s fault and partially mine for inheriting their narrow minded thinking” said Atoni.

Delamu was about to ask me more question and try to get him to explain what he meant when he said that everything that was happening was his family’s fault but was stopped from doing so when he heard something approaching them.

“Don’t make a sound Your Highness” said Delamu to the king as he brought out his sword, readying himself for whatever danger was approaching them.

Then a sound that sounded like hoofs stumping the ground began to echo as a beast made its way to them.

Delamu spotted the beast as it approached them, it looked an unholy fusion of man and beast as it walked on two hoofed legs that resembled that of a goat, two arms like that of a man, the head of a goat, two massive horns on its head and it was covered head to toe with dark red fur.

It was an Oburi Oyiboi, the goat man, an abomination of a beast that walks like a man but resembles a goat and hungers for only blood and flesh.

Delamu brought out his sword to attack the beast but before he could the blade of a sword struck the beast from behind slicing away the beast’s head, killing it instantly.

As the beast’s dead body fell to the ground Delamu saw someone standing behind it holding the sword which killed the beast.

Delamu eyes the widened as he recognized the person, it Amasu, his son.

“Amasu” said Delamu shocked to see that it was his son that slain the beast and saved both him and the king.

“Hello father” said Amasu with a smile on his face.

Delamu then ran to him and embraced him in a warm and loving hug.

He was relieved to see that his son was alright as he worried that the beast might have gotten to him and ended his life.

Amasu then pulled away from the hug and said, “I’m happy to see you too father”.

A loud roar of thunder then echoed from the sky above their heads.

“We have to leave now” said Delamu understanding what the roar of thunder meant and they had to leave before the storm arrives.

King Atoni, Delamu and Amasu then rushed out of the alley where they hid and ran as fast as they could but a red lightning bolt fell down from the sky and struck the ground in front of them, stopping them from going any further.

Then Afini then emerged from the dust and smoke formed when the lightning struck the ground.

Delamu and the king looked at Afini’s red glowing eyes in horror as they knew he was under the Dark Sorcerer’s control.

Amasu brought out his sword, wanting to fight Afini but Delamu stopped him, knowing if he fought Afini in the state he was in Amasu would not just lose the fight, he would also lose his life.

“No son, this is a battle you can’t win” said Delamu.

Amasu saw fear in his father’s eyes for the first time as he spoke, something he had never seen in his entire life.

Seeing the fear in his father was enough to make him realize Afini was a bigger threat then he realized if his father was frightened of him.

They all then turned back and ran the other way, away from Afini but just before they could more far enough away from him a flash of light stopped them from going any further and as the light died down Alaelra appeared with her eyes glowing red like that of Afini.

Delamu and the king looked Alaelra, the same way they looked at Afini knowing that the Dark Sorcerer had corrupted her with his dark magic in the same way he did to Afini. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the (F)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Amasu saw the tense look on his father’s eyes and knew that the lady that stood before them had to be incredibly powerful and dangerous for his father to be scared of her just like he was scared of Afini.

They all then looked back and saw Afini approaching them from behind.

They were stuck between a rock and a hard place, in front of them was a powerful sorceress and behind was a storm maker, both corrupted by the evil magic of the Dark Sorcerer.
