The Sun God Diaries
Chapter Fifty-Seven: Tired Alphas Having a Powwow

Third-Person POV

Three weeks later...

“Ay, Dios Mio,” Yavier sighed heavily as he staggered into one of the large parlors in the west wing of the palace, not surprised to see his other Alpha mates and several other Alphas (Malachi’s brothers and fathers included as well as those who were from the Sigma Chi Gamma Luna empire) slouching around and looking as if they have been through a giant war. “Three weeks of wedding preparations have never been this tiring.”

“You think?!” Abaddon whined, glaring at his twin brother who was snoring heavily. “It’s even worse when the main groom in question is carrying our nephews and is now acting like a gay male version of Bridezilla and he has a team of Lunas on our backs to make y’all’s wedding close to our parents! The mood swings, the hunger cravings, the planning, and cleaning! I can’t take this much shit any longer.”

Ian shrugged as he got up and accepted his cup of coffee from a Beta male butler as the server and others passed out cups of the hot beverage to the other Alphas. “Hey, at least this is going to be worth it since the Moon Goddess is watching our moves,” he said.

“No thanks to you,” Phillippe muttered. “Dude, how the fuck did you and the others get our brother pregnant in one go?! Claude and I are still trying with Destiny- if she’s not yelling her head off to clean the church up for the ceremony.”

Galen smirked. “Consider us lucky, I guess,” he said. “Malachi looked so good when we were hitting that-”

Taylor stifled the urge to bark as his twin covered the Gorgon/merman/demigod’s mouth. “Don’t,” he whined. “Just don’t. We’re trying to keep our appetites intact, thank you.”

“Anyway,” Gavin said as he sat up and stretched his arms. “The past couple of weeks have been nothing short of chaos. Taste-testing food for the reception, looking over fabrics for the dresses, fittings for tuxedoes, press conferences- I’m lucky to catch a break right now and-”

His eyes glazed over as he and the other eight Alpha mates of Carson stood up quickly. “COMING, BABE!” they yelled in unison.

“What the hell?” Colin said.

Anis yawned. “Carson. Food. Needs us. Now,” was all the demigod said before he and the others took off like a shot.

“Sheesh,” muttered an Arabic were-jackal as he rolled his eyes. “Those nine men are whipped by their mate.”

A dark-skinned were-panther from Kenya snorted. “We all are,” he said. “Katani and Seraphina the Vampire Goddess has me and my men joining the Sons of Enya attend fashion shows for the perfect template for the young prince’s wedding tuxedo. I made the mistake of saying that Malachi could wear rags and I got slugged by rolls of velveteen and satin. I’ll give my wife one thing: she can still give the Rockies baseball team a run for their money!”

“It’s worse when it comes to making sure that every one of our mates is fed,” whined the Alpha siren from Miami. “Draven and his friends had me and that Cunningham girl’s mate- Oliver- make several runs to seven different restaurants last night while they talked about floral arrangements. It never fails to amaze me how my mate can eat enough to feed two platoons from the Army and still look dainty.”

The door swung open as a Alpha were-hawk from India raced in with fear in his eyes. “Hide me,” he pleaded as his wife barged in and started screaming at him. “I said ‘NO PETUNIAS!’” she yelled, her face red with rage. “I told that florist that Malachi hated begonias and you told him that it was okay because he said it was not his problem?! Armar, have you gone off your bloody rocker?!”

“Baby, I-” the Alpha began to plead but was soon whimpering as he was pulled by the ear and his wife dragged him out of the room. “Help,” he squeaked.

But no sooner than he left when both Gabe and Mike came in as they were on their cellphones yelling away before the latter abruptly hung up. “Idiots,” Mike huffed. “The brass octet from LA won’t be arriving, meaning I and Gabe will need to break the news to our mates and they’re already mad at us.”

“Why?” Olodom asked sleepily, curiosity lacing his voice.

The brass band already has another commitment for the Queen of England and they said- and I quote you- ‘it’s not our fault that real royalty comes first over your dirty dogs,’” Mike sneered. “No, sir. Evan and Regan are going to have that octet by hook or by crook.” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Findɴovel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Gabe hung up from his phone. “We’re a go on the cake,” he said. To the other Alphas, “I had to make a lot of calls to ensure that we’d get multiple versions of the cake for a reduced price. It wasn’t easy, but I got it done.”

“Thank Goddess for that,” mumbled Vincent. “Just two more weeks. Us going through this shit is worth it if Malachi is going to be crowned royalty and a deity.”

“Damn right,” Ivan agreed as he finished his coffee. “And he’ll look so beautiful with our sons in his womb.”

Aivox and Cyler sat up. “Coming, Malachi,” the latter said. “Guys, we better bounce. He’s craving pizza. Again. Meat lovers AND two servings of pasta.”

“I’m in charge of dessert,” Aivox said. “He wants peanut butter cookies and two cartons of cherries.”

The were-cheetah Luna came in rubbing her temples. “Right,” she said crisply as she motioned for her husband the were-cheetah. “Azim, with me, please. Gentlemen, I’ll bring him right back.”

Azim looked bewildered as he was led out while the two Gorgons followed behind them.

“Wow,” said the Arabic man. “Looks like things are heating up for the moment.”

Ivan and Nathaniel stood up as well just as Renatha was storming in. “Ah, the angel and demon cousins,” she said crisply. “Join Alpha Camden and Mr. Draper in handling some chandeliers, please. And I know that they’re to remain flawless. If they even have one scratch, you’ll need to say your prayers.”

The teens cupped themselves briefly before following the drag queen out of the room just as Azim came back in with a dreamy look in his eyes. “Katani still gives it to me good,” he purred.

“Thank you, Azim,” the were-cheetah named Katani chirped. “Be on standby because I might need you again.”

“Yes, dear.”

The other Alphas- young and old alike- just looked at each other while Azrael continued to sleep away. To them, being an Alpha is never easy when it comes to planning a wedding. But in the end, it’s all worth it.
