The Sun God Diaries
Chapter Fifty-Nine: The Wedding and Coronation

It’s the morning of the biggest day of my life...

“What the hell do you mean that Ms. Fianna Langley has arrived?!” I heard the booming voice of Alain yell angrily from down the hall. “If they even take one step towards the restroom, you’ll be sorry that you were even born! I told you that the Langley clan are barred for life!”

And as I get myself ready with the stylists now putting the final touches on my custom-made Dior tuxedo (tailored by the famous seamstress Sarina Greene), I feel nothing but the endless calm that flows through my bones.

“No, sir,” a maid snarled. “It says that Mr. and Mrs. San Vartani have not RSVP’d and they claimed that they did. They must be trying to crash. Please send in Gabriella and- thank you.”

The rehearsal dinner went through without a hitch and all of the guards made sure that I was not to be disturbed or even got word about my divine upgrade as the walking and breathing Sun God Wolf- Cunningham kept her promise and kept her mouth shut.

Speaking of which...

“Thank you,” I heard the phoenix sigh in relief. “The octet and the string ensemble have arrived and they’re being settled into their positions. Make sure that they play the song needed as soon as Malachi begins walking down the aisle. Thank you so much!”

The tension and excitement lay thick in the air as I smoothed my tuxedo jacket and accepted a final bite of canapes and a sip of orange juice while the stylists were finishing up with packing everything away and getting themselves ready to head to the church.

“Remember, bro,” I heard one of the demon twins warn his brother. “No breaking into Malachi’s stash today or even after that. No doubt that he’ll need to gorge out and we’ll need to fend for ourselves.”

“Come on, Az,” I heard Abaddon whine. “Not even for one quick nibble on his Zebra Cakes or-”

I smirked, snapping my fingers and hearing them flying across the hall and breaking some bones. “Not a chance,” I hollered.

“You are so mean,” Regan teased as he and Evan (in identical blue and gray groomsmen suits by Dior). “At least cut them some slack, man. They’ve been running around with getting this shit together.” Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FɪndNøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“And let them try to break in?” I retorted playfully as I handed them two Nutty Bars each. “No way. And y’all should do the same thing when y’all get married to Gabe and Mike next month.”

My saintly twin brothers were going to make the Booker twins theirs with a similar ceremony in London and everyone was getting ready to see them be in the face of the British royalty (who were snubbed save for Catherine and William, the two of them already at the church with other dignitaries and celebrities from all over the world). The wedding was set for Valentine’s Day with Cunningham and Oliver’s the day after and Mariah marrying Kaden and Clayton two days before.

Love was definitely in the air.

There was a knock at the door. “Who’s there?” I asked as the indoor guards came to form a circle around me. “Guys, if that’s you, head to the church. It’s bad to see me before the ceremony.”

The door swung open to reveal Pauly, he, and his family dressed in all-white Armani. “At ease, godbrother,” he said merrily as Yesenia brought me one final cup of tea. “The Moon Goddess transported them to the church as soon as they were dressed and fed. She made sure that they wouldn’t jinx your big day.”

“How do you feel, Chico?” Yesenia asked me as I slowly sipped the honey-flavored and minty beverage. “Nervous?”

I shook my head. “Rather just ready to roll and ready to enjoy myself,” I replied. “It’s not every day that I’m getting married to thirteen Alphas and coronated as the Sun God Wolf King as well as the Moon Wolf Prince.”

“True,” commented Armando. “But you had plenty of preparations with online classes, royal lessons with Iain and Archer, combat training, taking up your royal duties. You’re ready, kid. All you need to do now is just get ready for the moment of your life. Diana Spencer doesn’t have shit on you.”

I looked down, feeling sheepish in my sky-blue-and-white tuxedo with a gold crown on my head. “That’s true,” I agreed. “I guess I am a bit jittery. But as soon as I see my mates, I’ll feel like I’m home in their arms.”

Everyone gushed as Dad (dressed in his royal blues with his mates following behind him in all black) came in. “You look amazing,” he gushed as he lightly wrapped me in a hug. “Everyone’s getting into their respective cars right now. Are you ready?”

I took one deep breath, letting all the nerves fly away as I felt the light of the winter sunshine bright. “Ready as I’ll ever be,” I said. “No going back now. It’s showtime.”

*****************

It’s like getting ready for the ultimate fashion show of my life- the Met Gala combined with the festivities of worldwide Fashion Week with the streets lining up to wave wildly and cheer on my family, sending small flowers flying. Dad was able to catch a red rose before handing it to me.

“Long Live Prince Malachi! Long Live the Moon Wolf and the Sun God Wolf!” the crowd cheered.

Dad grinned as we rode silently in the smooth Rolls-Royce Phantom that he and I were camped in, the two of us enjoying the happy cheers as everyone was bundling up to see me off. “Son, you can’t say that Denver doesn’t love you today,” he breathed.

“That’s obvious,” I replied. “This is...this is awesome right here.”

I wanted to sit back and savor the moment, to close my eyes and let this memory etch into my mind. Because even though I thought that I wasn’t ready to accept my new roles as a Moon Wolf and a Sun God Wolf King, I knew that I wouldn’t be truly alone. Because I had my support group with me and they would never let me fall.

We arrived at the church, my car stopping at the entrance as Mike and Gabe were waiting for me as the two of them were walking me down the aisle and giving me away. Everyone fell to an excited whisper as they saw my new look and were snapping photos of me on their phones while the media crews were doing their spiel and were lost in the excitement. Climbing up the stairs, I accepted the warm smiles from all around and even accepted another red rose (that would fit well with the other red roses and calla lilies that became my designated bouquet).

We stopped at the indoor gateway where a fanfare blew of my arrival. “Ready to rock, Malachi?” Mike asked me.

One deep breath, noticing the sight of my thirteen Alpha mates dressed in similar golden tuxes by Tom Ford with the Council of the Supernatural and the gods and goddesses standing in the background, the Moon Goddess herself smiling in pride as Her opulent form shone faintly like the stars in the night.

“Let’s ride,” I breathed, nodding for the ushers to swing open the doors with a grand flourish.

******************

The walk down the aisle to the music of “Nessun Dorma” from Turandot...

The blessing by the kindly bishop as he addressed the crowd...

The exchanging of vows- me reciting a passage from the Song of Solomon that sent Firella and Floriana out of the church in tears while Carson was weeping while Olodom recited a romantic soliloquy from Wuthering Heights.

The exchanging of rings followed by various arias from respected opera singers and a soulful piano solo from a renowned hip-hop singer from France...

And then the crowing and vows...

Everything went off without a hitch as Madame Allison Mauzey, the dragon-shifter and Council leader stepped forward after the communion. “Ladies and gentlemen, by the powers invested in me by order of the Supernatural, this church, and the State of Colorado,” she intoned, “I pronounce Malachi Jean-Luc Bauer officially mated to his Alphas and officially crowned fellow Moon Wolf Prince and...the long-awaited Sun God Wolf King, the beast that represents the sun that reflects the Moon Goddess and all that’s been said and done. Long Live the King! Long Live Malachi!”

“Hip-hip-hooray! Hip-hip-hooray! Hip-hip-hooray!” the congregation cheered as wedding bells and church bells rang in celebration while the guards fired gun salutes in the air.

Olodom led me by the hand as we and our other mates walked up the altar with the crowd throwing flower petals and snapping pictures before we stopped by the vicar’s office to sign the registration book of marriages -our names right under my parents as a spot was saved for the royal family. “We did it,” the demigod cheered as we all headed outside, greeting the happy crowd as Uncle Topaz and his brood cheered on. “We’re married.”

I felt a familiar wave of pain, yet smiled as if I knew what was about to happen. “We are,” I sighed dreamily. “And just in time.”

“Why?” Gavin asked, smirking. “Ready for our honeymoon already?”

“Such a naughty little minx,” Aivox teased.

I sent them a familiar smirk of my own as I let out a giant sneeze...and my water broke.

And just like that...all mayhem from my panicking mates broke loose. It was time to give birth and make my mates pay with daddy duty.

This was going to be fun.
