Chapter 74 - The Dungeon

"Henry! Come quick! This girl! She was looking through the valley. She came inside and was looking through our things," Livia said, throwing me a discreet look that told me she was doing it to protect me as well as the others.

If Henry knew that I knew about him and his evil plans, then he'd kill me for sure. I had to pretend like I knew nothing. It was the safer option

My beast howled in agony. She wanted his head on a damned stick. He was no Alpha. He was a monster.

I wasn't sure if I could even tell anyone else about it. If I told the others, the first thing they'd do would be tell Liam. I had to keep them all safe.

I could start by finding Mira and getting her out the dungeon she was being kept in. I had to find her. It was the witches only hope at escaping Henry. It was my only hope at getting rid of Henry too.

"Did she find anything?" Henry hissed out to them. They all shook their heads. I realised that they were all scared of him.

They didn't want him to kill their friend. They feared what he would do to them. I was sure they could kill him in seconds, but what happened after that was a whole different story.

I didn't blame them for doing what they were doing. They were protecting me yet throwing me under the bus at the same time. Their friend, Mira was much more important than I was to them and I understood.

"Hold her still!" Henry demanded to them. One of Henry's men held shackles in his hands. I widened my eyes at them. Were they seriously going to shackle me?

I felt my body freeze completely. I couldn't move. It was similar to what happened when I first arrived at the witches’ cottage. I wasn't in pain. Yet.

Henry stormed up to me and I held my breath. He was seething anger. I knew he wanted to kill me. "You little shit. Can't you stop putting your nose where it doesn't belong?” He shouted at me. I shuddered. I was scared that he would hurt me. What if he did? What would I tell everyone?

No one would believe that their Alpha hurt me. None of them would be on my side. I couldn't expect everyone to turn on their Alpha.

Henry hit me, his claws raking across my cheek. I yelled as my body flew to the floor. I hit the ground hard, wincing. My face burned painfully. I felt the blood drip down my neck and soak into my shirt.

"Put the shackles on. Let's get her back,” Henry demanded. The men who were with him rushed over to me. They handled me aggressively and I squirmed. I tried to fight them.

They overcame me and they put the shackles on me. They did them up tight, my wrists burnt. Henry scoffed at me.

"I can't believe it. Talking to rogues about attacking the pack? Traitor," Henry laughed at me. I widened my eyes at him as I knew exactly what he meant.

He was going to tell everyone I was working with the rogues.

"No! I wasn't! I was just walking, I swear. I saw the cottage and wanted to know if anyone lived in it. Please don't!" I cried out as I was lifted off the ground and to my feet. Henry scoffed at me and looked away.

"Sugar, what's wrong?" Liam called to me. He must've felt my panic and distress.

"Let's get her back. Everyone needs to know what a traitor she is,” Henry demanded. He flicked his hand and the men holding me began to pull me back in the direction of the pack.

"Next time, don't let her anywhere near the house. That brat was too close,” Henry hissed at the witches. They all nodded at him and watched me get dragged away.

"Henry! Don't do this! It's wrong," I cried out as tears streamed down my face. My mind raced with the most overwhelming thoughts. I couldn't control my emotions.

Henry had killed Liam's parents. He was responsible for everything this pack had been through. He was a monster.

I was too upset to get angry or shift to attack him. I couldn't fight back. I had no choice.

If I attacked Henry, I'd probably be thrown out the pack. I was stuck. I couldn't do anything but let it happen.

My beast howled.

"Don't try to get yourself out of this. We know what you did. I should kill you for fraternising with rogues, but your little brothers would come running along looking for war if I did that,” Henry hissed out. I sobbed softly as we came to the trees.

I was going to be known as a traitor to the entire pack. Everyone would hate me.

"Sugar? Where are you?" Liam called to me again. I wanted to tell him to attack Henry so bad. I wanted to tell him to take me far away from Takiani. I wanted to never return.

"Alison Grey, answer me!" Liam shouted.

I didn't answer him. I knew that I couldn't talk to him. I would tell him everything. I needed to keep my mouth shut.

When we made it back to the pack, there were all too many people out and about. Lila and Lucas were training, and as soon as they saw Henry, they saw me and came running.

"What are you doing?" Lucas shouted at Henry. He lunged for me, and wolves appeared straight away to push him back. A circle formed around me that kept everyone else from getting to me. "Stay back! She's a traitor. She's working with the rogues!” Henry hissed out. I tugged hard at the men holding me, and they both shoved me in the back.

I heard a roar from the woods. It was loud and it echoed over the entire pack. It shook the ground beneath my feet and made me tremble. It was Liam.

I looked around from him. I saw him, Leon and Quo running out the trees. Liam looked pissed as he ran towards me. I tried to go to him, but I was tugged back hard.

My emotions were all over the place. I felt like a mess of a roller coaster. I was scared... not just for myself but also for my friends. What would happen to them if something happened to me?

"Henry! Let her go!" Liam demanded as he pushed the men around me to the ground. He grabbed me and pulled me to him. The men behind me grabbed my arms and pulled me back hard

Liam growled at them and they tugged me back again. Men began to tug Liam away, and he just shoved them off and came back to me.

"Let her go or I'll have your head on a stick,” Liam growled out to the men behind me. He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me to him yet again.

"Liam, leave it. She's a traitor. She's been planning an attack on Takiani with the rogues this entire time," Henry yelled. He came forwards and tried to take me from him. Liam growled at him, a warning to stay away.

"Liam, don't," I warned him. Liam had to let it happen. He had to let Henry take me.

"That's bullshit!" Liam hissed out. I felt weak in Liam's arms. I wanted to collapse. I didn't know why I felt so weak, but it wasn't a good feeling.

"Liam, let her go. She's going to spend a few nights in the dungeons until we can make her call off the attack. I have to speak with outside packs to try and organise something. We can't just have a traitor in our pack!" Henry said, his lies sounding all too real. He was a good liar. I hated it.

I looked past Liam. Cass was holding back Leon from getting to me, Quo was holding back Lucas. Lila stood by herself.

She pushed past her brothers and came to me when she saw me looking at her. I grabbed her hand and pulled her to me while Liam and Henry argued.

"Let them take me. Get Liam away," I told her. She pulled away from our quick embrace and looked at me worryingly. I nodded at her.

"Let them take me. I have a plan,” I told her, even though I had no plan at all. Lila winced but she nodded at me.

She looked to her brothers and I assumed that she was telling them to help her. They came forwards and Quo followed. Lila jumped out the way as Liam was tugged away from me. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

"What are you doing?" Liam shouted at his brothers. The bond was twisting and pulling so hard that it hurt. My beast whined and cried out.

"It's okay, it's okay," I told Liam as I tried to get him to let go of me. He shook his head at me. "Think of me, okay? Just think of me and you'll be okay. I promise.”

I shoved Liam's hand away and let the men grab me again. Liam shouted out a long line of curse words as I was dragged away. I looked back to him. Leon and Lucas were dragging him towards my cabin. They needed to calm him down.

I watched as Alfie, Brayleigh and Kade ran after then. Cameron went running too. They all needed to calm down Liam. He was no good to anyone when he was furious.

I tried to calm myself down as I was dragged away again. My mind and beast was furious that I was being treated in such a terrible way, but I knew that I had to remain calm. I couldn't think clearly when I was angry.

Being angry wouldn't do anything to help me.

Henry lead me around the back of the pack house where he stopped in front of some old and rusty looking cellar door. He reached into his back pocket and I heard the familiar jingling noises of keys. He pulled out a set and then searched for a certain key that would open the doors. I gulped nervously and looked around. No one was watching anymore, but I knew everyone was talking about it. The pack link was absolutely silent. It was usually always loud.

People were deciding whether or not they liked me. This wasn't good.

The cellar doors opened and Henry went down first. The men holding me pushed me down the stairs and into the darkness. I walked slowly until lights flickered on.

We were in an empty dungeon. There were numerous cells everywhere, most had dangerous looking scratches on the walls and even blood stains on the floor. I shuddered as Henry motioned to one of the cells.

It looked like the dirtiest one. I scowled and struggled against the men holding me as they walked me towards the cell. The men unlocked my shackles and pushed me inside forcefully.

"Don't get too comfortable. You're being transferred tonight,” Henry snickered as he slammed the door shut. I heard him locking it up and I winced, rubbing my wrists.

I was in deep trouble. I had no plan and I wasn't going to waste my energy looking for one. My best hope was to escape in the evening. Maybe Liam could reason with Henry to get me out.

"Damnit," I hissed out as I punched the wall. I sat on the ground in the corner and leant against the wall. I was exhausted

I wiped some of the blood from my cheek and shut my eyes. I needed to heal and get my strength back. I needed to figure out what I had to do.

I had so much new information. Henry was a traitor. He really was. After all my suspicions and theories, there was something finally that made sense.

I had proof. I had the witches. They'd shown me what happened that tragic day many years ago.

I needed to know what had lead up to the moment. What had Henry told the rest of the pack? If he had stabbed himself, that would've meant that he faked his injury and made out like a rogue had injured him

He was such a liar and I wanted to tear his throat out for it.

"Baby, are you okay?" Liam's voice was weak and soft in my mind. I sighed deeply. At least I could still talk to him.

"I'm fine, Liam. Are you?" I rubbed my chest as it ached. I wanted Liam with me and my beast did too. We'd missed him too much.

"I'm furious. I could tear Henry's damn throat out for what he did. How dare he—"

"You mustn't do a thing to Henry. You best leave him alone and not say a word to him. Be angry with him all you want, but do not speak to him or argue with him," I blurted out, cutting him off. i was scared of what Henry night do to Liam.

After realising what Henry had done to Liam's parents and what he had intentions to do, I didn't want Liam anywhere near him. Liam needed to stay as far away from Henry as possible. He needed to be safe. I wasn't going to make him try to get me out of this situation.

I was a big girl. I could handle myself.

"But why? He's locked you up! He lied to the pack!" Liam shouted out in protest. I sucked in a deep breath as I felt the bond twisting.

"We don't need an argument between you two. It'll be better if you just let him do whatever he wants with me. Let him calm down and realise he can let me go. We'll work from there,” I told Liam. I felt bad that I had to let him suffer the way I was, but I had no choice.

I had to keep him and everyone else safe. I wouldn't risk their lives just because Henry hated me. "Just let me try to get him to let you out. Please,” Liam begged. I heard how desperate he was and it made my chest ache more.

"No, Liam. You just need to leave it. I have the situation under control,” I said softly. I knew he was going to be stubborn, but I had to make him leave it.

"You have it under control? It doesn't fucking look like it! You're sitting in a dungeon!" Liam shouted at me. He was angry, and I understood. But it still hurt to have him yell at me.

"Liam—"I tried.

"No! Screw this!" Liam shouted before he ended the link and shut me out his head. I tried calling to him, but nothing I said went through. He had blocked me from talking to him completely.

I was worried that he was on his way to beat the hell out of Henry, and I hoped that he was just going to go back to his cabin and down a crap tonne of beers and then pass out on the couch. I wanted him to be angry but I didn't want him to let Henry see it.

I wanted him and all the others I loved to be safe. What would he do to them if they turned against him? What could I do?

There wasn't anything that I could do while I was locked in a damned cell anyway.
