The Wallflower and the Alphas
Chapter 76 "They Save Me by Taken Me?"

Avery P.O.V.

Well, that didn't work out as I had planned. Hmm... you want to know why? Well, I'll tell you why. Because I am still over Jake's shoulder, and he got a tight grip on my legs, I can't go anywhere. So, yeah, this is so wonderful. I said to myself in sarcasm with an eye roll. I wanted to scream and kick his ass right now.

If I could get out of this hold of his, I would. But nope, I was stuck with my feet dangling in the air. I can't even move a few of my toes is how Jake got my legs in a tight grip. Oh, God, he is one strong wolf. That's just great; the moon goddess had to give me a mate that is freaking strong and has big arms. Elijah was not looking too bad, either. He has strong arms too. But, man, why do they get to be so strong, and why do I always feel weak? I am a freaking wolf, for God's sake. Oh, no! something terrible will happen if he doesn't put me down.

"Jake! Put me down." I tell him, but he is not listening to me. I need a plan or something along the lines I need to fake something so he will put me down. I was thinking, and then it came to my head.

Yes, I thought. This should work. Well, I pray this will work.

"Jake, I tell him in a sweet voice of mine he loves. Please put me down." I need to go." I tell him with a lie under that sweet smile of mine. He didn't even stop walking, and he didn't even lift me off his shoulder. Damn it! He didn't hear me. So, I tried a little more complicated.

"Jake!" Please set me down." I need to go." I say a little louder so he can hear over the crushing leaves he is breaking by walking in the woods. He was taking a shortcut through the woods to the packhouse. I waited for him to stop or drop me off the ground, but he kept walking towards the packhouse. He didn't even pay attention to me and heard what I said.

"I can see the house from here, man." I heard Elijah say behind us. I forgot he was following us. If Jake doesn't listen to me, maybe Elijah will.

"Good!' Jake replied to Elijah. After that, I didn't hear them speak... sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ FindNʘᴠᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Twenty Minutes Later...

I started to hum the song I love "In your eyes by Peter Gabriel. I love that song; it always calms me down when I am scared or angry. Right now, I am pissed off and afraid that the guys who bullied and hurt me in the past are taking me somewhere. I know it's at the packhouse because we are going in that direction, but I could be wrong, and they could be taking me somewhere else. So, I hummed the beautiful song calming me down. I thank God it's working. I wished it did more for me, like get me safe on the ground and not me in Jake's tight hold. But I am still over Jake's shoulder, bouncing, and my body just hanging there. I feel comfortable and safe right now. I don't understand why? The sweet and please answer didn't work for him and Elijah, but my demand voice might work.

Hmm, I am going to try it, and I am going to try it now!

"Elijah, please have him stop and put me down," I said sweetly. I even made sure I was smiling when I was staring at him, but he wasn't looking at me; he was on his phone, so he wasn't paying attention to me, but he was looking down at his phone when I opened my mouth.

Ugh, I can't believe it didn't work, either. Damn, what the hell? Both of them are ignoring me now. I knew Jake wasn't listening to me. I wanted him to release me, but he didn't disappoint me.

"Come on! You guys." Please put me down." I say in desperate because I am getting nervous around them, and they are giving me a not weird vibe, but I feel myself being more in heat, and I feel my wolf, and my veela wants to be released, but I am trying to hold off before they know what is going on with me and smell me. I didn't know if they heard me because when I thought that they started sniffing the air and growling and howling. That was when I felt Jake hold on to me tighter and started running with me still over his shoulder.

When I felt myself bouncing and moving side to side when he started picking up his pace and Elijah behind us, he started sprinting just like Jake. Well, hell, I am thinking now I am never going to be set down anytime soon. I groaned and started to take my hands and place them on the side of my face. I might enjoy the ride until we get where we are going. I wonder what is happening, but until then, they are not speaking to me; I wonder if they are talking to each other inside their minds.

Jake P.O.V.

"Dude! You need to calm down." Before you scare her away again, we don't need that again." I hear Elijah in my mind. But at first, I didn't hear anything because I was not paying attention to anyone talking. After all, I thought about getting Avery, my mate closed doors so I could finally be with her, and we could be mated.

I need to get there quickly because she is in heat, and their other unmated male wolves can smell her, and Elijah and I need to get her far away from the danger before they hurt her. Because unmated males can be aggressive, and that won't be good. So, that is why Elijah and I need her in our house, far away from everyone's eyes, and their greedy crawls want to hurt and take her away from us. Because the males only know we are mates now in the cafeteria. I hope the male wolves see Avery is born finally, and everybody knows she is Jake Woods and Elijah Stones Mate!
