Latest news on Traveller will see the first Historical mission in Asia as Japan is set to be the next nation to research their past.

Professor Adrian Taylor, veteran of the ground-breaking Saxon Traveller and Byzantium Traveller missions and head of Transporter Corp declared the Japanese mission ready to send their own Travellers back to a time known as the Heian Period.

Professor Kaito Nakamura of Kyoto University described this period in Japanese History as a time where the emperor’s power was, in part, overtaken by powerful, rich landowners with private armies of Samurai. “This is an exceptionally dangerous part of our history,” explained Professor Nakamura. “We plan to have Travellers visit in a manner similar to Saxon Traveller. Our Travellers have already been extensively trained, but we will also follow the format used in the USA’s Mississippi Traveller through liberal use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.”

While Japan celebrates, the nation who was slated to manage the next Traveller mission, China, has made little comment.

United Nations ambassador for China, Mr Li Guangya, only suggested that China congratulates the people of Japan and will be ready to implement the next Traveller mission.

So far, the eagerly awaited Traveller Lottery declaration has not been made public, but Professor Taylor promised that this would take place within the next week.

So now all eyes are on Japan for the latest in their project, which is to be called Kyoto Traveller.
