In other words, the kids did not want to tell Sean about it earlier for Molly's sake, and they wanted to find out if Sean would be compatible with Molly.

They did not need a father who would mistreat their mother.

They would be better off without him!

Sean started to have flashbacks of what happened after hearing those words, and he did not know what to feel about it.

However, he could not deny that the triplets were very thoughtful.

He would probably think that Molly was coming after his wealth if the triplets were to tell him that they were his children right after they came back. Then, they would not have formed the relationship they had now with each other.
