POV: Trevor

When we finally made it to the hospital, everybody was forced into the unknown and uncomfortable waiting area. Jazz and Rico sat in silence; they did everything they could to get Ashely in a more stable condition before bringing her over. Meanwhile, pacing back and forward, forcing himself to sit down only to return to that consistent uncertainty Leon was a mess and as soon as he saw me. His anger was fully enraged; once more, I just about planned out everything, including this. As I was pinned to the wall by my shirt, I held up a hand to Miley and everybody else while keeping my eyes on him.

“Will She Make It?!” He asked in a panic

“That’s the X factor in this problem Ashely is so much stronger then you think. Still, if she doesn’t make it I told you my life is forfeited to you do whatever you want to me,” I said calmly

“I...I can’t lose her,” He said before staring at me, “I can’t lose her too not after everything I’ve been through,” He said

“I know. We all know that, Leon. She’ll make it I swear on my life, she has to,” I said

Leon just gave up, walking over to a corner holding onto both of the rings, sitting down like he was punishing himself. A broken smile formed on his face while tears lightly flowed from his eyes, “We were going to run after all of this was over even if the connection failed I was still going to propose, and I know how dangerous that is but she makes me better. I can’t live without her,” He said

“Leon, everything is going to fine,” Miley said

“How The Hell Do You Know!? Unless You Can Fucking Swear To Me, She’ll Be Fine Then Don’t Lie To Me!” He shouted before turning around facing the corner, “Just leave me alone,” He mumbled under his breath

“Come on, Miles. He needs some space right now,” I said

She walked towards me, staring at him before allowing me to guild her to a seat across from Jazz and Rico. They were holding each other hands Jazz’s eyes were bloodshot red-leaning her head on Rico’s chest. Rico stayed quiet, laying his head on the crown of Jazz’s head, trying his hardest to stay strong for her.

The waiting felt endless from night to early day to early afternoon. The sound of the clock ticking only made the wait worse by being the only noise echoing through the silent void. Leon had all but checked out only moving to go to the bathroom then come back to the spot; he refused to talk to move even to sleep; all he could do was stare at the rings and softly cry over the future that may have just lost. Rico started to bring food around, hoping that it would help since no one has eaten anything in the past thirteen, maybe fourteen hours straight.

“Thank you, Mi Querido,” Jazz softly said grabbing one of the coffees he had brought over

“You’re welcome, Mi Amor,” He said lightly kissing her forehead

I reached for a muffin realizing it was Blueberry I passed it off to Miley, “It’s your favorite,” I mumbled under my breath

“I’m not hungry at least not until Leon is better,” She said glancing back at him, “I hate seeing him like that, it’s like he’s torturing himself, Ash, wouldn’t want him like this not even for a second,” She said

“I’ll see if I can get through to him, okay? Till then, try to eat something for me, please?” I asked

“I’ll try as long as you do,” She replied

I walked over and sat down back to back, grabbing his attention while I was trying to think of something to say, “I almost lost Miley once. I know exactly how terrifying this is to possibly lose your mate,” I said

“Wh...what happened?” He quietly asked

“You were there that first bullet was aimed at her, I tackled her out of the way but the fear of timing it wrong was just horrifying to in vision. She has no idea the fear that was washing over me. The future I saw of us being together erased right before my eyes, and she had just marked me not too long ago. I wished I was smart enough to realize I didn’t need her father’s approval to feel worthy of her since she had already accepted me for me. Ashely will come back, but she’s going to be disappointed if you don’t take care of yourself,” I said

“You don’t know that for sure,” He muttered

“I know she’s strong and brave and smart and funny and talented and cute,” I said

“Cute? She’s gorgeous and don’t even get me started on how smart and talented she is. Her stories are just beautiful,” He said

“Well, think you can tell me one?” I asked

“Heh. I’d sound ridiculous telling one of her stories but here goes nothing,” He said

Leon told his version of some story Ashely made. He started laughing again, and I could tell he was smiling, thinking about her. Talking to him made him feel better enough to sit with the rest of us and at least drink some water. I took my seat beside Miley while she was eating and put my arm around her shoulders, keeping her close to me. We started talking to kill some time Jazz was the favorable storyteller easily ratting out some of hers and Ashely’s old embarrassing habits. Miley and I took turns taking potshots at each other and making fun of each other. Miley also retold the story of how she marked me, and even though Jazz still didn’t believe I’d go off on Black like that, she did notice he was acting different around me. Rico ratted out his past to everybody and how Jazz was there to help him get through it. Leon told us about his dad the entire thing with his mom and how his pack is finding their way back to his side since Anton had been taking over for him.

“Black. Anybody here for Black?” A Doctor called out

We all rushed up out of our seats to met the Doctor, “Yes. We’re all here for Ashely Black,” I said

“Ashely Black? No, I was referring to Alpha Tyrese Black. Ashely Black was transported to the ICU over six hours ago,” He said

“WHAT?!” We all shouted before anybody could even turn their head Leon was already gone to the opposite side of the hospital

“Jazz. Rico go catch up to him before he destroys this place,” I said

“Son of a bitch!” Rico yelled before tracking him down

“Why didn’t anyone tell us that sooner now he’s going to lose his mind,” Jazz said before leaving

“We were informed by the night shift that you all were notified of this,” He said

“The staff here is fucking incompetent. This hospital will be hearing from the pack lawyer,” Miley said

“Excuse me?” The Doctor asked

“No excuse me, do you not realize who she is?” I asked

“My father, the Alpha you just mentioned better be alright, or I swear to God I will raise hell in the most professional way possible. Which in my opinion is much scarier than me just burning this place down,” She said

The doctor took a huge gulp of air nervously pulling at his shirt collar before getting back on task, “He’s in a stable condition. The sliver and Wolfsbane was flushed out his system a while ago, and as for the Iron poisoning, he suffered from its’ been treated with deferoxamine. He still has a lung infection that we are currently keeping careful watch of. I do apologize for the inconvenience of what happened earlier,” He said

“What his room number?” I asked glancing over at Miley still pissed off

“He’s in room four fourteen,” He said

“Fine. At least you’re competent around here. Ashely first; I bet Leon is rising hell, afterward, we’ll check on my dad,” She said leading the way
