“So should I go check on him? See if he’s had any dealings with the Quintin family recently?”
“Nah.” Emmett waved his hand, showing that he didn’t want anything more to do with the Atwood family.
As long as Taylor kept his nose clean and didn’t make a move on Clara, the two families could coexist peacefully.
“Got it, Mr. Melendez! I’ll get on it now.”
Just as Ricardo was about to turn and leave, Emmett suddenly spoke up, “Is Clara in the office?”
“No, I just went to look for her, she’s not there. But I didn’t ask, she might be in the restroom, or out delivering documents”
“When you see her, tell her to come see me. I looked at her blueprints yesterday, they’re pretty good, but there are a few changes needed. I think we can use her design for the new building”
Ricardo nodded, “Alright, I’ll let her know to bring her blueprints when she comes to see you.”
“Good, go on with what you were doing.”
Yes, Mr. Melendez.”
Clara pulled up to the hotel where Leah was staying. As soon as she walked in, she saw Leah curled up in a corner, tears in her eyes.
Being a woman herself, seeing this made her heart soften.
“What’s wrong?”

Clara sighed, walked over and stroked her head, “It’ll pass. Crying will only make you look worse. Leah, don’t let a man change your thoughts to yourself.”

“Emmett’s a good guy, and he’s been nice to me. Clara didn’t want to talk about her personal matters and quickly changed the subject, “Have you eaten yet? Are you hungry? I can make you something.”
Leah noticed her deliberate change of subject, but didn’t call her out on it. She smiled and nodded, “Sure! If you’re making it, it must be delicious!”
“Haha, don’t get your hopes up! I just cook for myself. As long as it’s filling. I’m happy. I’m not exactly a good cook.”
With that, Clara went into the kitchen.
Watching her go, Leah quickly grabbed her phone and went into the bathroom.
“Hey, get Taylor to my hotel somehow!”
“Why would he go to the hotel? He’ll get suspicious!”
“What’s there to be suspicious of? Just tell him you’re thinking about buying this hotel and want him to come check it out. You’re not actually going to buy it, so you can come up with any excuse, right? Hurry up!”
*… What are you trying to do? Your demands are giving me a headache! I have no idea what your end goal is.”
“You don’t need to know.” Leah smirked, “From now on, you’re gonna have a great life! You don’t need to ask any more questions.”
With that, she hung up the phone.
After hesitating for a few seconds, Leah sent a text to her friend who was a reporter…
