Leah nodded and said, “Sure thing! Once I get this pile of work off my plate, I’ll definitely head over.” 

By then… she wasn’t sure what role she’d be playing. 

Clara repeatedly returned to the office, replaying the earlier scene. 

That was totally Sophia and Leah! 

She was pretty sure her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her. 

After some thought, Clara pulled out her phone and dialed Leah’s number. 

The phone rang a few times before Leah picked up. 

Before Clara could even get a word in, Leah chirped, “Clara! What’s up? Why’d you ring me?” 

“Nothing much, just wondering where you’re at?” 

“Me? I’m obviously at the hospital looking after Elio! He just dozed off, and I went to the pharmacy to grab some medicines for him.” At the hospital, Clara rubbed her forehead, “Ah, guess Imust’ve seen wrong. Thought I spotted you on the street just now!” 

“Huh? I’ve been at the hospital the whole time. You had barely left when I got back! Elio was in a mood and had a bit of a tantrum! I was actually about to call you. Did you guys have a fight or something?”

Clara smiled, “Mm, I won’t let things with Elio affect our relationship! After all, you’ve helped me out big time before! I’ve got some stuff to deal with, so I’ll let you go! Take good care of Elio, and call me if anything comes up.”

After hanging up, Clara slumped over her desk, sighing. 

“I really need a break! Even my eyesight’s going downhill.” 

It was a busy day, filled with meetings in the afternoon. Clara handled the company’s architectural needs and planned to start sketching designs the next day. 

Before leaving work, she remembered to pack a few architecture books into her bag. 

Emmett’s call came in just as she was leaving the office. 

“I’m waiting for you in the underground parking lot.” 

“Okay.” 

Clara quickly packed up her stuff, rushed to the elevator down to the parking lot, and sure enough, Emmett’s car was parked there. “Huh? Are you driving yourself today? Ricardo’s not chauffeuring you around?”
