Once in the car, Clara suddenly remembered what Emmett had said to her…

Alex lowered his head, remaining silent.
“I’m asking you, did Emmett see you? The man from the magazine you showed me before!” Clara inquired, her voice filled with concern.
Alex nervously bit his lip and nodded guiltily. I’m sorry, Mom. I wanted to surprise you, so I came here. But he didn’t catch me! I cleverly managed to escape!”
Clara’s frown deepened as she looked at her son.
“Alex, why would you do that? Haven’t I warned you numerous times? Don’t come to my workplace, don’t interact with wealthy people, and don’t let too many people see your face! Why don’t you ever listen to me?”
The thought of someone recognizing Alex’s face from years ago terrified Clara. She couldn’t bear the idea of losing him.
