“I’m not scared of seeing you, it’s just.. I’m dressed super casual for the late night and didn’t expect to see you this late, so…”

“Alright then, let’s meet at the company entrance! 

After saying that Emmett hung up the phone and hopped in his car to head to the company. 

Left with no choice, Clara had to bid her son a reluctant farewell. 

“Aiden, mommy will come visit you again!”

“What about today?” 

Emmett arched an eyebrow, challenging her statement. “Didn’t you say you wanted to treat me? I suggested doing it today.” 

Clara was taken aback “Now? It’s already so late Isn’t it a bit inappropriate?” 

“What’s inappropriate about it? We’re legally married, and there’s nothing wrong with us having a meal together at this hour What are you afraid of?” Emmett retorted Clara fell into a brief silence. What was she afraid of? Of course, it was him! 

“Get in the car I’ll drive you home,” Emmett said, already opening the car door. However, he noticed that Clara was not following. 

“What are you thinking? Get in the car!” he urged. 

“Mr. Melendez, i think it would be best to treat you during the day tomorrow. It’s not suitable at this time, Clara suggested, hoping to find a compromise. 

“If I say it’s suitable now, then it is” Emmett declared, his tone firm 

Knowing she couldn’t win the argument with Emmett, Clara reluctantly got into the car. She had planned to video call Alex or send a message to Aiden after reaching home, or maybe even make a discreet phone call. However, it seemed that today she wouldn’t be able to do any of those things….
