Amy’s POV

Did I hear that right? How was it possible? Sage was a hellhound...but Danny was saying...

“How can you be so sure?” I asked Danny for further explanation. But he was still glaring at Sage and Sage was planning something big that his minions were all cheering.

“I can feel it, Amy. I’m also a seeker, remember? And if my theory is right, He’s the first seeker of the world.” He said while rubbing his temple out of habit. But what could it even be mean?

“Offspring of a demon and a witch.” Suddenly a memory from not so long made me say the next words. “Sage’s parents didn’t even realize what they were creating.”

“Huh? Oh... Legend has that Seekers don’t go well with... Well, the Reapers. When a witch and demon mates, that’s what happens. Their offsprings become a Reaper hunter. They were born solely to kill your species. It’s like a poison to your kind. You will want to kill them and they’ll do the same. If you want I have some books about them.”

Who knew Hannah knew exactly what Sage was. He was a hellhound with seeker blood.

A hand touching my shoulder suddenly snapped me from my thoughts. Glancing up, I saw confusion swirling in Danny's eyes. "What are you talking about? You just said something about a demon and a witch."

"That's the process of born into a seeker." He gave me a blank stare in return. "God do I need to spell it out to you!? You are one of them. Of course, your father had to be a demon."

Disgust filled his whole feature making me more confused. "Amy, never I mean ever tell me that my father was one of them. My father was a human. He fell in love with my mother, a witch. They married and here I am. I refuse to believe anything else."

Oh, God...

He didn't know.

"Danny- I-I talked to a witch. I belonged to a clan for two months. Everyone knows about the seeker bloodline. Simply a human-" I stopped seeing the cold look return to his face but I had to tell him. So I continued. "A human wouldn't be able to create a seeker. I-I am sorry."

"Don't be." He laughed bitterly looking through the window. "Seems like today is full of confessions. Do I need to know anything else?"

I really wanted to give him a hug. But my body was frozen looking at mass murderer in front of us making plans. Tears of anger spilled from my eyes but I refused to wipe them. Let them fall. Danny also glared at the same sight clenching his teeth.

“So we need to do this tonight. Today is blood moon and this opportunity will never come if we fail this time.” Sage was telling them the importance of today but what could be that? Was he finally going to kill us?

“But what about Keisha? She won’t be able to run. So we could bring her on our side. She did listen to us once. Knowing her, she’ll do anything to survive.” Another man said loudly but Sage only snorted and I flinched. Was he right? Will my own birth mother betray her daughter again for her own life?

“No, she won’t. That time I had made her stronger. But this time she’s too weak to choose sides. And I don’t think she’ll leave her daughter. You know if she chooses our side her daughter will kill her. She was supposed to be killed by her blood only, remember? She was the one who begged me to let her stay beside her daughter. And don’t you think it’ll be fun to see both trying to survive but fail?" He exclaimed with a laugh but my anger got the best out of me. I wanted to rip that face with my hand.

Right now.

“No! Amy listen, he wants you to get angry. Don’t give in to what he wants.” Danny blocked me the last moment and hugged me but it was getting difficult to control my anger.

“Let’s just go and wish they wouldn’t notice,” I said almost in a robotic voice and we walked together inside. The room was divided in half by a partition but everything could be heard perfectly from here. I looked around and tapped my fingers nervously.

“Don’t be angry, Amy.” He said while gripping my hand tightly to stop me from breaking the door.

“I can’t help it,” I muttered. He gave me a comforting smile.

“I’m furious too. But we need to do this. We need to stop them from whatever they are doing.” I nodded and sniffed when the door on the other side opened. We quickly hide behind the tall boxes around the place. Please don’t make me regret coming here...

“I always love reunions, you know.”

Scratch that. I’ve no luck...at all.

“Now, be a good girl and come with me or I can force you and it won’t be good.” A man of Sage's said while giving me a glare. But wait what? Where’s Danny? I looked around but my Danny was nowhere to be seen. He must've hidden somewhere. Without him did I have the magic to defend me? Guess not.

“OK. But I’m so going to kill you, mark my word.” I said defeating but not before some threat. If he thought I’ll make this easier on him, he’s an idiot.

He was kind of dragging me with him. I hope Danny better have some plan or I don’t know how to end this madness. While chanting something I didn’t know he got me inside of the room and all eyes glared at me at the same time. But surprisingly he made his way down a hallway and into a bigger room. He moved across the room and through another set of doors. Just how much big was this place?

This hallway was smaller and had a dozen of pictures from different clans. He made his way down the hall and stopped in front of another large door. He opened the door but it wasn’t a room but another hallway. Oh lord! How am I supposed to escape from here? The passage opened up to a small room and a staircase.

“Look...whatever you do, do not try to escape.” He hissed at me but honestly, I was sacred. His real face was on. He looked just like a hell’s creature. He made his way down the stairs and now we were standing in a hallway. Why was Danny taking so long? Did he already get caught? What about mom?

“We’re here.” He talked after some more rounds on hallways and doors. The room we were in had mirrors hanging and middle of the room was a pentagram. There were people dressed in black cloths.

“What the hell is this!?” I yelled at his face but he was too busy talking with the guys. There was a woman stood on a platform in the center of the room, surrounded by others. But she was awfully familiar. If there only some lights were cast.

“Thank you all for gathering here today on blood moon’s night. We have the gem right here we were waiting for.” She said cheerfully and I froze. I immediately recognized that voice. I could never forget that voice even if I was dying.

It was my mom, the one who raised me and sent me to that awful asylum.

At first, I was in disbelief. It was some cruel jokes, right? Then shock was replaced by a cold rage. She was my mother and she was supposed to protect me, not cheering me on my dead body! I wanted to rush forward and rip her soul out...if she had any. The entire time she knew of this world and she let me rot. I tried to clam the raging emotions but failed.

“Don’t do anything stupid.” Someone whispered. But I was too blind to realize that it was Danny’s voice. But I didn’t saw him near me then?

Someone pushed me to move forward and it was Sage. At least I knew he was dangerous but my mother? She betrayed me in cold heart. I felt my body begin to tremble at the rage of what she did to me.

She raised a hand and everyone fell silent. “Amy...come, my dear. I need you to fulfill your destiny and free us from our curse.” She said and I glared at her. How dare her!

“And what destiny that will be?” I forced the words from my mouth. I needed damn answers.

“We’ll save you.” Again Danny’s voice whispered me. Either it was real or I was really getting mental.

“For hundred years we tried to take down earth. But Reapers just can't help themselves. Always mingling in another's business. Deshayes bloodline were well-known witches at the time and they have somehow mixed reaper blood in them. Later I found out it was Sage.” She said gesturing the man who grinned. “And when she started to show her symptoms it was becoming hard for the hellhounds to come in the earth. When she married and had children the door of the hell got temporarily closed. Some got blocked in the earth and some in hell.” She stopped and looked at me for some expression but I kept it blank. I would give anything to stay it that way. But just as I said...I needed answers.

“If you are like them...how you’re on the earth?” I asked her the question. I wanted to ask why she did it to me but I guess she’ll eventually reveal.

“I couldn’t get out of the earth. And why do you think I adopted you?” She smirked cruelly that it hurts to see this woman who I called mom so many times.

“So that we come to this day.” I made it like a statement cause she and I both knew it and she smiled.

“Let her keep talking.” Again the voices. This time I think it’s real. Somehow he’s communicating with me. At least that’s reassuring in this bloody situation I’m in.

“You must have known that reaper blood has to end for opening the gate and only a seeker can open it. So Sage tried to kill Keisha but your father...! Your stupid father made a curse so only her blood can kill her. So now do you understand where I’m going? Today is blood moon and the perfect day. You just need to kill your mother and call the seeker; can’t you do that for me?” She said and I started to get angry...Again.

She began to walk around the pentagram and raised a dagger. My heart felt like it’s going to jump from my body. Everyone around me bowed their heads and I stared at her. She shouted and said, “Do you know this dagger was only designed for killing Reapers? You are going to use this on your mother and then you’re going to call your seeker. You like it...or not.” She roughly tugged my hand and forced me to sit in the middle of the pentagram. What was happening? Was my mom caught? What the hell I’m going to do!

“Don’t worry...your mother is safe and with me. Just make sure nobody summoned me or her.” It was Danny’s voice again. I felt a smile crept across my face even if I was technically dead in next hours.

Before I could move from my place arms grabbed me roughly from behind. I struggled but they were stronger. I was shoved to the ground and to my surprise they had bound me again with the silver band.

“You’re not going anywhere. And I have a nice surprise for you.” She smirked and I was scared that someone already might have summoned mom. But to my horror who walked towards me had me almost stopped my heart from beating. Even if it was my mom, I wouldn’t have felt that scared I’m feeling now. How could this have been even possible? Then my brain clicked, we were still in limbo...in half part of hell.

“I haven’t seen you in a long time sweetcheeks.” He smirked.

It was my one and only tormentor, my ex-boyfriend Zach Henderson.
