Unknown Magic (3)
Chapter 1

The boat we had sailed across the waters spraying salt mist across in the air. Wolf was steering the ship back to Pacific Rim where as I sat and laid at the front taking in as much refreshing air as I could. I needed to be awake and need some reality that we would be seeing our children again. It had been two months since we been in battle with the red immortals. Every battle becomes tiring but seeing our children means we could have the energy to fight stronger and protect them.

Since the battles we would place our children, Junior and Alice with Madam at Pacific Rim as it was for safety reasons. No one can detect the city. There we felt safe knowing they would be alive.

A wave came knocking me out of my thoughts bumping my body into the air and a small yelp escaped from my lips. I turned as I was placed back on the boat and saw Wolf give me a apologetic face even though there was a bit of humour in it. Shaking my head, I brought my focus back to the deep blue waters. It slightly started to change indicating we would be reaching Pacific Soon.

You may wonder ‘why not portal’ as many ask before. To be honest I am not even sure about my so-called portal powers and would not want to risk it. Going by boat is the smartest thing.

I shifted my seating and rose to where Wolf was. Focusing on getting us to Pacific Rim soon as possible. I came around and hugged him from behind. Already feeling the electric pulse between our bodies. He hummed in satisfaction but kept his eyes on the horizon.

“You know one of these days we can’t just ship them off to the city” I said not sure where I was going with this.

Wolf body relaxed a bit as I did not realize how rigid he was. What was he stressed about? But mentality stopped myself for asking a stupid question.

“Yes, I know” he replied, after a while, “but it’s the safest place for them and who knows if the pack would be ambushed as soon as we left…besides my family and the pack understand” he whispered the last bit.

I held onto him tighter knowing that was the painful truth. I kept my focus on the blue horizon knowing in just a few moments I would be holding my children in my arms.

Riding the waters, a little bit longer till a silver dot began gleaming off the line from the sun. It appeared like a flicker of light.

Wolf saw this as I made my way to the front but made my way cautious as the city was becoming bigger, the shield around it become visible. Soon Wolf began slowing the boat and I came face with the shield as it reflected the blue vibrant waters. Having the reflection simmer of water like it did on sand when looking through water. Placing my hand on it. Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“I Asema Darksky, request access along with Wolf,” I spoke and waited a few moments till the shield softened and allowed both me and Wolf through.

And there it was the city of Pacific Rim that shone like sliver sticks of the water, blinding and reflecting light with a few hidden secrets deep within.

Wolf began to maneuver the boat to the south dock where it seemed to be quiet. Not many boats were there but, in the distance, I could see three figures approaching where our boat station was.

Excitement started to swell in me as my heart began to violently pound. Not sure why, possibly because I haven’t seen them in two months and missed them terribly.

Coming closer I could see the two little figures begin jumping but Madam held them back as afraid they would jump in the water and swim to us. As it wasn’t the first time that had happened.

Docking and climbing out of the boat my rapid heart and shaking self soon eased as a tiny brunette flung herself in my arms splaying her hair into my face but soon settled.

“Mama” she shrieked with excitement but I could hear how much she had missed me.

“Alice” I returned my reply.

She was our second child and youngest. A beautiful girl she was. Had her father’s hair and my eyes. She leaned back as I could properly see her now, slightly tanned skin but still pale. Red eyes that gleamed with light and a Lycan mark that was oddly red that started from the corner of her left eye and traced down of a spiral of intricate shapes to her cheek bone. First glance you would believe it was interesting scar but closer it is unique Lycan mark indicating that she is the second hybrid in the world.

She let go and made her way to her father as he finished up docking the boat and jumped into his arms. He grunts at the weight but soon adjusts. I smiled at their interaction but break away as the first but second child comes in for a bear hug.

Junior touch, I have missed as he now six and his Lycan mark becomes more defined it turning a dark purple.

His grip is tight around my neck as I hold him, telling me, he has missed his father and I.

I drew back from him examining anything that may have happened. Not sure where the outcome would be but face sad but joy washed over it as he was excited to see us.

“I miss you, mama”

I smiled and brought him into another hug that he openly accepted. “I miss you too bud.”

He retracted from my arms and made his way to Wolf who just set down a giggling Alice who ran and swayed around my legs.

Wolf saw Junior and picked him up flying him in the air and planted him onto his hip. I reached down and took Alice hand leading everyone to the center of city.

“Time to go home?” Alice asked, I nodded and a smiled grew larger on her face.

Wolf Eventually put Junior down as we entered the city with Madam coming to walk besides me. The city was alive as we began to pass by pedestrian’s traffic. It was better scenery than clashing blades and foul smell of blood. AS well with summer sun warming me. I missed the sun but would be haunted by what it provided and reminded me at times.

Madam began to speak.

“How was your Journey?” she began with casual talk.

I replied. “Exhausting but good to see your face again”

She smiled and continued, “the children were good, kept out of trouble most of the time, but they really have been missing you.”

A smile crept onto my lips. I started actually talking with Madam. Since years before Alice, that one time I couldn’t understand a feeling, but it was like a force pushing me, making me become softer to Madam, I was not sure why but I felt I needed strengthen our bond.

“Again, I am sorry we dump them onto you as it takes away from your attending Sky High” I replied, apologetic.

She waved it away with a laugh as her sliver eyes filled with amusement. “Honestly it is no problem, “A chance to bond with my grandchildren.”

We entered deeper into the city, and the streets soon were becoming busier and shuffling through the crows began. To swirls of shuttles loudly making noise up in the air. We were nearing the portal tower.

“Asema dear, don’t worry about it honestly, I don’t mind” as she could read my doubt on my face, “it the best I can do to help while you fight those red monsters” she rested a hand on my shoulder. Giving a warmth of gratitude, I smiled again and nodded.

Soon we reached the tower as it towered over us like a crane or a pointed needled piercing the blue above. Through the years I wondered why was the portal was so high for the city to see but never pursued the question.

Entering, Madam joined us in the lift. To that we rose high. “You know you are still welcomed to Wolf’s coronation as I have not heard your reply yet.” I nudged her.

She blinked rapidly looking around and soon the doors opened again and everyone piled out.

Alice let go of my hand and launched on to Wolf who swung her onto his hip and she giggled. Wolf returned his hand to Junior and grunted a sigh of happiness.

“No pressure, Madam, very rare for outsiders of the pack to come…” he paused and bit his lip as my face lost colour. I spun to Madam as Wolf caught himself, “Sorry I didn’t mean—”

Madam held up a hand lightly laughing, “I take no offense, don’t worry,” she looked at me and took my hands as a familiar mother figure come out, “Besides this his side of the family things not our, you celebrate a history in the making of a king while I keep getting to know you and your family” her voice soft and squeezed my hands gesturing us to leave through portal.

Waving and stepping through water-based substance to be welcomed by a humid typed of air that was fresh inside my lungs. The green was warming and welcoming.

We had entered back into Hunters Forest where the familiar treelined and moss scattered everywhere around us with patches of lighting staining onto the ground. We are home.
