Chapter 21

Eventually we returned to the pack with our children and surprised the pack as they learned about the new child. In response like always everyone wanted to meet her and see what she looked like. Within moments time she stole everyone hearts and the days since we have had her, already I got my free time figuring out this power that was bestowed upon me. For some reason I thought I would be visited by a few members of the ancient family as now I am apparently one of them but the days past by and all of what happened was routine.

Got the day started, look after Elektra while watching everyday her Lycan mark form and was beginning to see it turn into a faded perfect wing tip on her eyelid to two parallel lines on her cheek, the shorter one closer to her nose. She looked like a warrior. Then for the rest oof the day Wolf would want her showing her the land with Alice and Junior and after that Accailia insisted that her and Atreyu take her while I go sparing with Wolf or go and figure out my new powers.

Every day that would happen, and I did not complain, life was happy and I could take in the weather as now we had only a month or two left of summer. But I still basked in the sun.

Though one day my thoughts came and I could not shake that face Madam gave me or I saw from a distance. It actually gave me troubles just imagining what should would say. But I pushed past it and allowed my family moments to come by enjoying precious moments that I was not sure I would get again. I was it was no leaving but I felt something, either it was from new found power or a new sense I picked up.

One day I just finished up things and Wolf giddily came to take Elektra, I allowed him and just listened to the crunching feet walking away into the distance while I went to the docks and sat by the shore watching the water wash rush up and down threading through the rocks and sat by the shore. I began to play, by hovering my hand over the water and rose the water up, like a clear crystal tower, sparkling in the breeze of this sunny day. “I see your new powers have grown, or either you have a new sense of control.”

My focus broke and the ivy disappeared as I brought my attention to Madam who stood in a different type of clothing, a black drenched cost fitted to her body, though still had that bouncy blond type of hair. How was she not warm in that thing?

Smiling I looked back at my once creation, now gone as if they barely existed, “yeah I been trying out new things.”

Madam smiled, but moment later it faltered.

My feeling may be right as I gather myself and stood before her, “I saw you in the room and you didn’t look please…something is up…what is it?” I wanted to get to the point.

Madam nodded, “I have some news, well more so request, it involves Elektra and” she looks around her as if making sure no one can hear her, “I would like to discuss this in your home.”

I stared at her, what did Elektra have to do with this? For some off reason I did not want the answer but I pushed my instinct and lead the way to the house while still wondering if Madam is sweating in that coat in this hot summer day. Again, I push the though back against in mind and allowed the crunching noise of twigs and leaves to fill my ears till when we entered the house creaking of wood replaced it.

I gestured Madam to the living room and she made herself comfortable to the armchair while I offered her refreshments, but she denied.

“I want to get this over and one with it please, if you do not mind.”

“Good, and so” she bites her lip, “I feel your children will be endangered of that since you have a close connection with them, I would like to train amongst the warriors, around the age of nine, training her as one, keeping her strong.”

“You still raise her while having her close but she trains amongst the warriors, building a strong persona for herself, for protection.”

My whole body went cold, my head screaming yet I sat there motionless.

I snap, “Wolf and I literally travel to battles costing precious time and moment with our children already” I start.

“I under—”

I stood, “no you do not, I will not throw my daughter into a boarding school where her main focus is to kill or defend.”

“You will raise her, she will know the ways of Lycans, but her main focus will be a Immortal Warrior” she tried to reassure me but I shake away her useless words.

“No, you think I am just going to let go of my daughter after just having her? I will not be separated from her!” I was now screaming.

“Asema, you do not understand,” Madam voice still so calm.

“Then make me understand, why you believe it is in the best interest that you know what is best my daughter which technically your granddaughter. What position do you have to make those decisions for her?”

She stares, her silver eyes cast down yet no emotion. She takes a breath and actually slumps her shoulders.

“I understand, you want the best for her everything, yes you have the right, countless battles have consumed your time from Junior and Alice, for the purpose of their protection in general. But this is truly to help you and to protect this family, the dark forces that seem to be looming towards us closer each day.”

I stare at her hands, and next words are not mine but come from my mouth.

“The same dark forces you encountered when you have to send me away, be raised by something else? Then realize later my true life?”

Shea actually gives me a horror face and swallows; I had actually hurt her with my words. And I find myself sitting down to listen on her next words.

“This is not the same…” she takes a deep breath, “She will not be thrown away. She will be raised by you with Wolf and her siblings by her side, meaning you can have her in your arms, bond with her…something I never got.” She lets those words sink in and I slowly slump to the couch feeling horrible.

I cross my arms over my chest and cross my legs over one another. “How if growing up with warriors and training like one going to help her?”

Madam takes a heavy sigh, leading me to believe she was not telling the whole truth.

“In time you will understand, there are still many things in the future that may change.”

Huff a sigh and throw my body back. “I need to discuss this with Wolf.”

Madam nods in confirmation, “while you do that, knowing that this is not a choice, I know you will want to be near her…so I am offering you a job at the school, to be a teacher at academy as well teach about elements. That way it will be easier travelling through portal every day.

I stay quiet narrowing my eyebrows and madam shifts uncomfortable, “wouldn’t that get tiring” I point out.

She looks down at her hands again, knowing she already thought of that.

“What is another suggestion, you have?” I laced the words with anger.

She brings her eyes back to mine, “if you like you may live at the residence on week days and at the pack weekends.”

I stare at her as if she gone mad, “You expect me to put my daughter in a academy boarding school? And force my husband to live with on the weekends?” I shoot back up from the couch again and she begins to speak again.

“No” I cut her off, “he will not live with me at Pacific Rim, while his pack is here! You obviously don’t understand Lycans!”

She rises from her seat, “you think, while I gather things together” she steps away to the door while I gape at her. She opened the door but stared back at me, “Elektra will train with the warriors learn their way so of fighting. There is no choice in that…”she pauses as if hurt to make this decision for me, “but the opportunity, the position I am giving you that is a choice you can choose from…the good news Elektra will only start training when she turns nine, that way you are given time with her before her focus is somewhere else” She says and then closes the door behind her leaving me alone in the room to uncomfortable sobs escaping my mouth.

I restored balance to another world.

I won countless battles against red immortals who don’t know when to quit.

Wolf and I created a movement that began to change everything.

Yet I could not destroy the darkness.

I could not stop it as it appears to be moving closer than I realize.

And I am still trying to figure out those murders that were created for me.

More questions than answers.
