While his offer to move is pleasant. I did not care much for the Ober-Commanders little jest on my behalf as he wiped the sweat off the tip of my nose. If the Captain found it amusing, he certainly did not show it. Though by the way he carried himself, I doubt he would have if he had found the act amusing. The Ober-Commander, I just do not comprehend on that level. Sometimes he is like Captain Graxis. Reserved, polished and all business. Others he is this oddly mannered old man poking his walking stick at those around him. Saying and doing the oddest things. Not going to analyze his mental state as I am not qualified to do so. However, I will observe him and his uncanny behavior. These thoughts invade my mind taking my place again beside the Captain.

Marckus:

Standing before me in the room, is the General and a Centurian female soldier with a bloody face. A scowl adorned each of them. No idea what has transpired in my absence, but it sure looks ugly.

“You”, I address the bloodied soldier,” You are relieved. Go get patched up. I will get to the bottom of this, and deal with it accordingly.”

“Now hold up a minute, sir”, Red Wolf interjects in protest in her hoarseness. Putting a hand up to silence her. I should like to hear the whole story before jumping to conclusions.

“Are you deaf, soldier”, I bark at the female,” Get the hell out of here, or I will have you lashed for insubordination!”

“At once, sir”, the soldier growls in response, before quickly making her exit.

Now alone with the red faced General, I was pleased to see her mobile and about. The surgeons did a lovely job on repairing her patellar tendon. “Now, if you please Volkov, have a seat. Take a few deep breaths and calm down. I will let the two children in and we will discuss this matter civilly. Had enough hollering for the day. Before I forget here”, I say to her mildly, tossing her the two bundled lab coats to her. I had almost forgotten that I had been carrying them this whole time since I had returned.

“I see you managed to get what was on your shopping list”, she acknowledges catching the garments easily from the air,” I trust you had no problems in attaining them, or the ship.”

Taking a moment before answering. “It was a bit rough”, I begin my explanation,” seems intellectuals for the most part are not interested in helping an old war horse in general. Before you jump to ‘how many had to die’. No one was hurt in the sour transaction. I did however get help from three small individuals of their committee, as well as a Volgan. Let us just say for arguments sake they are the ones to procure the articles I needed. I am more guilty by association to their dealings. Unfortunately I had to bring them back, as they lost standing with their peers in the act. Not the Volgan, as who would argue with one in the first place, just the smaller three.”

“Well sir”, Volkov begins through a bout of stifled laughter”, picking up strays, what a nice gesture on your part. Not going soft on me, are you?”

“No, Volkov, do not underestimate the power of even the smallest of allies. Not now on the cusp of this looming onslaught. Why waste such perfectly usable talents in my arsenal”, I leave her with the open ended question as I make my way to retrieve the two statuesque personnel outside.
