Chapter 58

"I told you finding this stuff will not be a piece of cake" Heather cried out. That's all she has been doing ever since we got here. I get it that she's tired but the least she could do was shut her mouth. Maybe then, we'll feel a bit encouraged about the search.

“No one asked you to be here bitch! You can just walk out and go continue your miserable life elsewhere!“  Max yelled. Guess I wasn't the only one who was tired of her.

“You are an ass hole!“ she barked.

“Bitch”

I don't really like Heather, but I still don't like Max calling her names and vice versa.

“That's it! I've had enough of you all fighting like wild animals” Josh yelled.

“I know you guys are exhausted and it's quite frustrating how we end up doing the same thing over and over again” he paused, took a deep breath.

"We need each other more than anything right now.  Heather, you said mean things to Kara just because she felt it was true. But that doesn't justify your actions. Max you are just trying to stand up for kara but that doesn't mean you can go around calling  her names!" Josh looked really furious, frightening not only me but Max and Heather too.

"Let's  Just take a break. It's not like the prince is going to get us or something" I don't know if it's something about what he said or maybe just our bad luck, but a mean looking vampire suddenly appeared at the door.

I have never seen him before but his aura screamed danger and gorgeous at the same time.

“Your Highness!“ Max said at the sight of the man, drawing both Josh's and Heather's attention.

The stranger didn't say a word. A light smirk appeared on his face that disappeared immediately.

It can't be, no, it can't be the Prince! I have only heard about him since the day I  got dragged into this mess. I've had different theories on how he would look but not once has this good looking face crossed my mind.

He wasn't attacking at the moment, and neither was Max Heather, or Josh.   Are they too frightened to attack him? Cuz if they were one thing their face had, it was fear.  Or maybe he's not actually here and this is just some kind of illusion.

Just as I was about to move close to see if he was really there, a slim figure moved from behind him. I didn't know if my eyes were playing tricks on me, or if this was some kind of day dream. But I swear I can see Kendra, standing right beside the prince.

"Kendra?" Max said from behind me.

"My Kendra!"

It really is Kendra.

I didn't know what to do next, the prince was standing right beside her and he might hurt her or me if I moved close, but I didn't care either. After all the shit I have been going through alone, I have finally found my sister.

“Kendra!“ I ran toward her, giving her a tight hug!

“Kendra! You are okay!“ I said, letting go of her. I cupped her face in my hands, just to make sure she was really there and she was! I can't believe it, my sister!  It's too good to be true.

“I missed you soo much!“ I said, raising my teary eyes to meet hers.

“Back off Kara!“ Those were the first words she said to me. Then she used her hands to push me away from her.

“What?“

“You heard her back off!“ The Prince said his face showing no emotions, just like Kendra's.

"Hand the stone over  Kara, and I'll beg him to spare your life!" Kendra barked making me move two steps back.

“Wait, wait, what is going on here?“ I asked, still not able to understand.

"Hand the stone Kara!" Kendra said, this time at the top of her voice. I looked at her, then the prince. He wasn't saying a thing, or even trying to attack. What is going on, why is Kendra asking me to hand the stone over? Is he forcing her to do all this? Did he threaten her?

“Kara? The stone!“ She said again.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I don't have the stone I swear!" I have to think of something. I have to save my sister from this demon.

“We don't have it!“ Josh backed me up.

"Wrong answer!" She said before taking out a sword.  I had two questions When in heaven did Kendra learn how to use a sword? And is she really going to attack me?

My question was answered the moment she thrust her sword towards me. 

“You brainwashed my sister?" I asked after managing to dodge the attack. The prince wasn't saying a word, he was still standing, statue like blank face. And a dirty smirk on his face.

"Kara!" Max said, making his way to where I was. Josh started attacking Kendra with his fire powers.

"Stop it josh, you'll hurt her" I yelled, hoping he'll stop attacking Kendra. But he didn't have time to get what I was saying. The Prince attacked him. I don't know how to explain it but Josh was dramatically floating on thin air. I don't know what the fuck was going on, but I was sure it is the prince's doing.

Kendra kept moving close to me, each attack getting closer to the target.

I finally believed that this was for real and my sister will cut my neck off if she gets the opportunity.

Heather and Max tried helping me but the prince wouldn't let them come close.

He's so powerful that he didn't need to do much to stop all three of them. No wonder they all looked frightened when he got here!

Kendra once again attacked me with the sword, I didn't have enough time to dodge, hence it cut a few strands of my hair. That could have been my neck if I hadn't moved.

"Kendra, snap out of it!" I said, this time using my air element to push her backward.

“Wow, Kara, you've gotten vampire powers? How great!“ She said, but I could feel the bitterness in her words.

"Kendra, stop this, look, Max and Josh will help us, you don't have to be threatened by the Prince, you'll be fine I promise" I begged.

But Kendra was not even planning to stop.

"Just hand the stone, this is getting boring," the Prince said from where he was, making both Kendra and I stop.

“What part of I don't have it don't you get? Just let them go!“ I yelled at the top of my voice.

“Kendra, we can help you, we'll free you from his clutches, you just trust us”

“Really kara? Why didn't you do it when you had the chance?“

"What are you talking about Kendra"  she raised her sword this time slicing a part of my shirt. Blood started gushing out of my arm. Did she really do that to me? And there was no sign of regret in her eyes. I guess there's only one thing left to do,

fight back!

I kept using my wind element to push Kendra away, trying my best not to hurt her.

Max, Heather, and Josh were now free from the prince's clutches and also trying to attack him. He was so strong that it looked like he was just playing games with them.

"Kendra, snap out of this shit" I yelled, I  was sweating so badly and panting heavily. I was tired of all this fighting.

“What the fuck are you talking about?“ I asked trying to save myself from her ruthless attacks.

“Oh, you know what I'm talking about bitch” she said.  She was talking about when I saved Max in the prince's castle. Is that why she's doing all this?

"Kendra, this is wrong, I'm your sister" I cried out.

“Yeah? Well, he's my new family” she said referring to the prince.

With each word she was getting closer to her aim to cutting my neck off.

“So, you are going to kill your sister for a freaking vampire?” I was baffled with her choice.

"I'll do whatever he wants me to. He's the only one who has shown me that I'm worth something. He's a better family than you Kara" she said, seething in anger.

  "He's not like you. Pretending to be the saint when you're nothing but greedy" she added.

I managed to keep enough distance from her.

The prince continued playing with Josh Max and Heather. They were giving him all they had while he on the other hand seemed to be enjoying it.

"What the heck Kendra!"

"Sadly, mom isn't here to see who you truly are" she added making me snap.

"He killed mom! That freak killed our mother and you are on his side? Open your eyes Kendra" I was now pinned to the wall, with no escape, Kendra can snap my neck off at any moment, but for some reason, she didn't. Is she finally listening to what I was saying?

I started feeling dizzy, I could fall any moment now. so,  I put my hand on a piece of wood sticking out of the wall. But I think I was putting too much force on it, making it move to the other side.

It wasn't a piece of wood but a lever.

There was a creaking sound in the room.

All the fighting stopped.

We all waited in anticipation to see what was behind the wall where the sound was coming from.

The wall was opened in no second and something we didn't expect came in to sight. Of all time to find it, it's now that the Prince is here?

The stone of light! Hell, it was bright! Pure white. It was big, bigger than I thought. About the size of a football. It was so beautiful and alluring! No wonder everyone is after it.

The Prince was the closest to the Stone and that meant danger. If he gets his hands on it we'll all be doomed.

Max and the rest were trying to get to it, but with one hand the Prince used his telekinesis to hold them up in the air.

He got to the place where the stone was and without wasting even a second he took it.

Kendra was busy making her way to the prince so I did the only thing that came to my mind.

Killing the Prince is the only way I can end this shit. And now seems like the best time, he seemed quite occupied with the stone.

I took Kendra's sword which was now laying on the floor and without thinking much I ran to where the Prince was as fast as I could. This was the only way to stop this war! The only way to get my sister back.

My eyes came in contact with the prince before using all the strength I could muster to thrust the sword right through his chest.

I planned for it to go right through him, but that didn't happen cuz someone came between the sword and the Prince at the exact moment.

My eyes widened and I let out a loud scream. the Prince also seemed terrified. He suddenly sank to the floor where Kendra was laying in a pool of blood! Her blood!

Max and the rest came running to my side each giving me  sad looks. But that wasn't what was on my mind at the moment. At the moment, all I seem to be able to focus on is my sister's lifeless body.

The one I used my hands to kill.
