I felt the wind against my face as I was free falling from above the clouds. I heard slight bits of screams, but most of it was blurred out from the wind and the air. As I neared the ground, I felt something rip my shirt, well, not entirely. I looked behind me and I saw raven-like wings. I glided down to the ground and they disappeared once I touched it.

There were no disrupted earth pieces as far as I could see. When I looked up, I saw everyone diving down towards me. They weren’t going to be able to pull up if they keep going at that sort of angle. In the distance, I saw a group of people running right towards me. Now, if I had known about them, I still would’ve gone after Angel. On the ground, I saw blood stains, and I could tell these were very recent. It trailed into a forest, or was it part of the forest?

I entered the forest and looked through every bush until I saw a body. It looked recent. The facial features were bloody and bruised, and the rest of the body looked attacked. Looking around, there was no one else, so I took the body and traced my path backwards. I saw a peeking sun and followed it out onto the cobblestone path.

They were waiting there with their mounts on standby. When they saw me, I was holding the body of Angel. Another life lost because of me. In the distance, I saw Panama and Amber. Behind Panama was a water bubble encased in ice, which held Kaitlyn’s dead corpse.

“Is that...” Jacob started, and I swallowed a gulp and nodded.

“She was attacked, and since she couldn’t come up in the air, this is a likely cause. There is blood marks and everything on here, and probably along with finger prints.” I forced out, and Jennifer started to cry.

Panama took the body and went with Amber to encase the body. Why must everyone die because of me, and why is there a prophecy about me or someone like me? Shaking my head, I sighed as there were now two bodies were encased in ice and filled with water. Robert looked at me with a smile, and he took my hand.

“What?” I asked, looking him in the eyes. sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ (F)indNƟvᴇl.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Nothing, we need to get back.” He spoke, still smiling that heavenly smile of his.

“Seriously, what is it?” I persisted, grasping his arm.

“Nothing.”

“You know there’s something.”

“Seriously, it’s fine. Nothing is out of order except for the deaths of our friends.”

Glaring at him, I couldn’t find a way to breach his persistency. Once again, he took my hand and threw me up onto his phoenix. Now I was worried about Panama and Amber. Sure, their powers are essentially the same, they each had their perks. Wrapping my hands around Robert’s waist, I closed my eyes and waited for the sudden liftoff.

It didn’t feel like there was a sudden take off, until I opened my eyes. Clouds seemed like the floor and I couldn’t stop looking at it. One sun was visible from over the clouds, while the other would probably be coming soon. The uneven coloring of orange, yellow, and blue seemed like an uncommon occurrence, but it was all natural every day.

Snapping out of my daydream, I wasn’t prepared for the sudden dive. It was almost a 90 degree drop, but it wasn’t entirely like that. Closing my eyes, I squeezed tighter onto Robert, causing him to realize that I wasn’t liking it one bit. The phoenix soon felt level, in which I turned my head and started to puke.

The rancid taste didn’t make anything better, especially in the air. Opening my eyes, I was used to seeing the puke on the floor, but I didn’t see any. Turning my head, I saw Robert staring at me. Taking a look at him, it looked like he was concerned and happy.

“Why are looking at me? I just puked, for Pete’s sake.” I spoke, tone being visible at the present moment.

“Can I not look at you?” He asked, shedding a smile towards me, making me blush.

“Not when I am puking, you can’t. Any other time that I am not sick is fine. Are we there yet?”

“Almost, and whatever you say, your highness.”

“Stop flirting with me.”

“No, you never said I couldn’t. Besides, I wasn’t flirting. That’s for older people.”

“You’re like 22, and I am 16. No way that’s going to happen.”

“I am not 22. I am 18, thank you very much.”

“Do you want me to jump off again?”

“No.”

“Good, because I am still going to do it.”

Jumping off the phoenix, my raven wings came out almost instantly. I wasn’t used to being able to use my powers during the day. Spinning in circles, Robert started getting mad. Good, now who’s mad? His hair started to turn more orange than he usually did when he casted his spells.

“No flying during the day, Heather.” He spoke, starting to throw fireballs at me.

“Do you care about the trees you are destroying?” I smirked, flying just above him.

“Not particularly, why?”

“Do you know what Kaitlyn and Angel would say? Nothing. They would condemn you for your actions.”

“Ha ha, very funny.” He joked, looking up at me.

Soon, I was back on the phoenix, tired from flying. Danny was doing fine, but that was because the suns were out and his powers are double, if not tripled in power. He started to look at me and extended his hand out to me. I reached out, and I was soon grabbed strongly by him.

“Oops, sorry about that tug. Take a seat in my ‘light’ house.” He quoted the word light with his hands.

“Ha ha, very funny.” I laughed, not actually intending to.

His ‘light’ house was just a room made of light essence. There was two couches and a coffee table with flowers in a vase. The room wasn’t too elaborate, but just a nice sitting area. Soon, we were descending, picking up Panama and Amber for the last few short minutes until we arrived at our destination.

“Where do you think I am going to be placed?” I asked, filling the silence.

“I don’t know. The old library textbooks spoke of a time where Darkness elementals weren’t legendary or practically impossible, instead they were the same rarity as Light elementals. That was until the Light elemental Erik the Darkcrusher slayed them.”

“So, I assume the only survivors were the ones that had escaped and lived to reproduce, trying to increase the population of their type.”

“Pretty much. But earlier on, before all of this had happened, Destiny Lightdimmer had slayed almost a thousand lights, but never went to the extent of killing off an entire population. Erik had left shame to the Light elementals. Sad to say that he’s my great times eighteen-grandpa.”

“Wow, are you ashamed of his actions?”

“Somewhat, but some say he was tainted by a Darkness elemental named Jacob Taint. But there is only one, but he died of a surprise attack during Erik’s rampage.”

I nodded, leaving my mouth shut. He didn’t answer my question, but I got a small history lesson. Danny lowered his head and sighed. The descent began as we neared where I was soon to call home.

I was soon in the clouds, and it felt like air. There was obviously something there when it was practically made entirely of air anyways. It felt too quick for us to be under the clouds, but I suppose that the cloud layer wasn’t really thick like one Earth, my old home. Or was it the same density like on Earth?

The green, vivid grass below looked like heaven. It was lively and filled with life, like rabbits and deer, plus whatever else lives in jungles. This was like Earth, except infused and made with magic. The ground grew closer and I felt the natural breeze that I haven’t felt in like forever.

Why did peace and my life come at a cost? All I ever wanted was to be unique, and here I am being a god-like being, but no one is praising me for what I have done so far? I saved the castle from collapsing and waited for Kaitlyn and Jason to build a structure to save the castle. People are dying like flies, and it might not be me that’s causing it.
