Chapter 13 Welcoming of Laverna Reine

Lucifer’s grandfather took the blade in his hands and aimed it at my belly bump resulting my breath to quicken in fear of what he might do next.

“This will be diving straight in here.” He warned menacingly.

Rain Winters P.O.V

I sat down on the mattress with one of my leg on top of the bed and the other leg reaching the ground, combing my burgundy hair slowly as I thought about what happened.

“Rain?” Jacob called looking over at me inquisitively.

“Hmm?” I crooked to him.

“What is it?” He asked knowing all to well that something was troubling me.

“It’s nothing.” I lied.

“Is it about Valentine?” He frowned.

I frowned at the thought of her.

I looked down.

“I wish I could’ve protected her.” I spoke disenchanted in myself.

He sat down beside me placing one of his hands over my knee that was on the bed.

“It’s not your fault.” He softly whispered.

“So, is that what’s bothering you?” He queried.

I sighed getting from the bed and walking a couple of steps as I kept down the brush on the dressing table.

I shook my head no.

“That’s not the only thing that’s been bothering me.” I spoke truthfully.

“What else?” Jacob enquired getting up from the bed walking towards me.

He placed a hand on my shoulder turning me to face him looking into my eyes.

“It’s Lucifer.” I alleged looking up at him.

“What about him?”

“He’s not a werewolf.” I told.

“I know, he’s a half-breed.” He declared.

“No.” I shook my head once more.

“He’s something else.” I said.

He furrowed his eyebrows at me.

“What do you mean?” He asked.

“Not too long ago in the room, his eyes glowed.” I started.

“Isn’t that normal?” He questioned.

“Our eyes don’t glow red, Jacob” I told looking into his eyes.

“Red?” He asked surprised.

“Bloody red, almost like- “I started.

“Vampires.” He ended my sentence.

“That’s not possible.” Jacob said not believing.

“His dad is a werewolf and his mom’s a human.” He continued.

“Besides it’s forbidden for a werewolf to be mated with a vampire.” He finished.

“Forbidden but not impossible.” I told.

“The prophecy, it’s true.” I said looking into his eyes.

Laverna Reine P.O.V

“My Queen.” My duke ran towards me swiftly with his rapid special speed as I was sitting on my throne chair in the throne room.

“Yes?” I faced him.

“Your wish has befallen.” He told me.

My eyes went wide as I stood up from the throne chair stunned.

“She’s pregnant?” I quizzed to be made undeniably certain.

He nodded.

I beamed.

Finally.

I’ve been waiting for this day for centuries.

“But there is bad news too.” He spoke.

I turned my hands into tight fists.

“What is it?” I sneered at him with my teeth clenched together.

“She’s been taken.” He detailed.

“That swine!” I hissed wrathfully.

“The prophecy needs to be completed in order for both lands to unite.” I held.

“He needs to be stopped.” I groused irately.

I faced my duke.

“Where was my son when all this happened?” I interrogated.

“It was an ambush.” He responded.

“He’s weak.” I groaned rather loudly, sighing.

“Prepare everything. I need a dozen of guards with me.” I told walking down the staircase as my long dress flowed behind me.

“Where are we going, my queen?” He asked.

“We are going for a long hunt.” I grinned.
