Versus

Long ago, Emma protected her mother from being killed by her father and that was the last time that they saw him. It had been oddly quiet since, but her mother remained watchful. So, when Emma was offered a full scholarship to a college in the Eastern mountains of the US, she moved there without telling anyone, and so did her mom. As a writer, her mother could easily relocate to be close to her daughter. It was the perfect change until just days before classes started, the odd occurrences began. What began with stopping an abduction of a little girl, quickly escalated to a boy who seemed to keep showing up around campus, watching her. But in the end, nothing was as she expected. No one could've imagined the truth she was about to learn. What if the good and bad in this world were manipulated by living beings...that humans can't see? What if they exist in a realm that allows them to influence humans to hurt others? Well, if they exist, there's always a balance in nature. Someone must possess the power to defeat them. What if there's a college that teaches the young "gifted" students and protects them until they are ready? Could some humans be unaware that they even possess this "gift?" Apparently so. Emma will get answers in the first book of the Versus series. She meets friends that feel like family while she learns what it means to be her versus...them.
