True Darkness

Silence, something’s lurking behind the corner,
it’s something that’ll change you, from a laughing one to a mourner,
everyone is aware, yet the world is never knowing,
it’s something that has never stopped growing,
can’t be seen, can’t be heard,
make ya wish for light, but everything behind is left blurred,
we didn’t make it, it was always here,
from the start of time, it feasted on our anger, our fear,
shapeless, like a boogeyman under your bed,
like odor from rotten meat do these infections spread,
sadness, the dying lights of hope,
less and less ways for us to cope
with it, the situation around, and inside us,
darkness came here again, to make a fuss,
twist our minds wrong, throw you under the bus,
without remorse, without sense,
these times make us more tense,
angrier, more tired,
our fates were slowly, silently wired
together, to wait for the end yet to come,
listen, in the distance below,
it is the True Darkness, marching to the tone of its hellish drum.
