Summary
Two women, castoffs are appointed to big jobs on Mars. they were appointed because no qualified men would take them. They face enormous challenges. They struggle to build a mining industry and a huge airship line linking the ends of the Valles Marineris on Mars.
Even though they have submitted to professional banishment to get their jobs a world away, they are not granted autonomy. Their (male) superiors on Earth still want the control and the credit for the building that they do. They must fight their dangerous planet along with their bosses on Earth while they build their dreams and develop their home planet.
